Bungisngis

That's how Hannah is. It's very easy to make her smile or even laugh. Just talk to her and she'll answer back with a smile. Or sometimes she'll make sounds as if she's talking to you too. And there are also times that you'll hear her giggle which makes her really cute. hehe! When she wakes up in the morning and she sees you looking at her, her initial reaction is to smile, that's how bungisngis she is. She hates it when you're just there and not talking to her. You'll just hear her shout at you as if telling you to talk to her. That's how she is, she definitely makes everyone of us happy. :)

Accident Prone?

Now that the price of fuel and fares on public transports are dropping, we again see more cars on the road. When fuel prices were skyrocketing, a lot of people turned to motorcycles as their means of transport. I have absolutely nothing against them, but it’s how they use the motorcycle that’s so frustrating. Perhaps you’ve seen in the news the numerous accidents they show on TV. I’m sure if there were motorcycle accident attorneys here in the country, they would have a field day.

Holiday Feast

It’s that time of the year again. There would be parties and dinners to attend to, and lots of food and drinks to consume. It’s not a very good season to people who are growing bigger sideways. This would be the perfect time to try a diet pill. I wouldn’t be surprised if there would be an increase in sales of these diet pills this season.

Blogging...

I love to update this blog but I don't know what's wrong with me. I have so many stories to tell and so many pictures to share but I just don't feel like writing now. It's so annoying because before I wanted to blog but can't find time to do so but now that I have all the time in the world, I don't feel like blogging. I'm just here in the office doing nothing, staring at my pc and sometimes blog hopping. There are so many things going on in my mind right now and I want to share them to you but I just don't feel like writing. I hope this will soon go away and I'll have the enthusiasm to write again. For now, I beg you friends to bear with me.

It's The Time Of The Year

It’s the 2nd week of December already and most of the people are done with their Christmas shopping while others are still waiting for their bonus so they can shop. During this time also, families plan for gatherings, Christmas parties and vacations. These families either go out of town or book a hotel to spend the holidays. I’m sure companies such as Westgate are busy with reservations and all. As for my family, we will spend Christmas at home and I’m sure it will be a good one for we will be complete.

Soon We'll Be Complete

A few more weeks to go and my brother’s family will arrive from New Zealand. And two weeks after that, my mom will arrive from US with my cousin. My dad is here with us now and arrived last week. Our house will surely be in riot since everyone will be staying there. I’m checking now if there are some repairs to be done including bathroom lighting so that by the time they arrive everything’s settled already. All of us are excited since it’s been a few years since we were together and we truly miss one another. I’m sure this Christmas season will be a memorable one. Can’t wait!

The Pink Sisterhood

It’s a meme highlighting the threat of breast cancer and how important it is
to practice early detection procedures like self breast examination.

* One in eight women or 12.6% of all women will get breast cancer in her lifetime.

* Breast cancer risk increases with age and every woman is at risk.

* Every 13 minutes a woman dies of breast cancer.

* Seventy-seven percent of women with breast cancer are over 50.

* Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in women between the ages of 15 and 54, and the second cause of cancer death in women 55 to 74.

* Risks for breast cancer include a family history, atypical hyperplasia, early menstruation (before age 12), late menopause (after age 55), current use or use in the last ten years of oral contraceptives, and daily consumption of alcohol.

* Early detection of breast cancer, through monthly breast self-exam and particularly yearly mammography after age 40, offers the best chance for survival.

Eureka!

After about two weeks of searching, I have finally found the toothbrush that I bought a couple of weeks ago. You see, when we got home, Lance rummaged through all the stuff we bought and got my toothbrush from the bag. Why that? I have no idea. So I just let him play with it. It was after all still in its packaging. But then, when I wanted to get rid of the old one and use the new one, it was nowhere to be found. I don’t know where Lance put it. So I just continued to use the old toothbrush. It was still clean by the way. Anyway, when I have almost given up on the new toothbrush, Toni found it. Where? In the bookshelves. How it got there? I have to ask Lance about that.

Let's Dance

Last Thursday, I went to the office to attend a practice for the dance contest for our Christmas party. We’re having “disco” as theme and since its disco, the committee decided to have a dance contest. So the different departments created groups already and started practicing. As I was dancing and learning the steps last practice, I just realized I’m old. Sigh! I can’t dance the way I used to, since I get tired easily. Plus when I look at myself in the mirror, I’m too big that I can’t see if I dance as gracefully as before. But still I love to dance, it’s a good exercise and helps you lose weight just like when you take Fenphedra. Anyhow, the choreographer is still enhancing and completing the steps for the dance while us dancers are trying to memorize the steps that were taught already. I heard from my colleague that starting today they’ll be practicing everyday but since I’m still on maternity leave, I’ll be attending the practice again on Friday since I’ll be going back to work on that day. I hope by then the steps are complete already. :)

Updates

I know I haven’t updated you of what’s been going on in my life now. I’ve been quite busy being a mommy, I’m breastfeeding Hannah and I’m trying to spend quality time with Lance especially now that I’ll be going back to work in a few weeks. Here’s what’s going on in our family now:

Paul has been busy since he arrived from his training in Germany. They have many projects now and he has been going to the sites everyday. I think next week he’ll be going to Baguio again. I sometimes pity him because I know he’s tired from work and I know he also wants to spend time with our children but can’t find time to do so. I hope this weekend will be better. :)

I, on the other hand is still enjoying my maternity leave and making the most out of my remaining days before I go back to work. I breastfeed Hannah and now I’ll be starting to pump and store milk so that I’ll have enough supply when I go back to the office. I also play with Lance whenever I’m done feeding Hannah. I’m done preparing for Hannah’s baptism and we hope everything will turn out ok.

Lance now weighs 16.3kg based on his check up last week. He’s a good big brother to Hannah and is not jealous anymore. Before, whenever he sees me breastfeeding Hannah, he’ll immediately run to me and pull Hannah’s feet and cover my shirt but now I guess he knows and understands it already. I always tell him that Hannah gets food from mommy whenever she’s hungry. So far, I can ask Lance to throw Hannah’s soiled diapers, next time I’ll ask him to do something else. :)

Hannah now weighs 4.3kg based on her check up last week. She’s now 6 weeks old and is really getting heavy. She also smiles often now and she loves it whenever you talk to her. So far she hasn’t given me a hard time even at night. I normally wake up at 1am to change her nappies or sometimes I wake up at 3am or 5am to feed her and after that she’ll go back to sleep.

Well that’s what’s been going on in our lives. We haven’t put on a Christmas tree yet and we’re planning to do that this weekend if we have time. We still need to clean the house so that it will look nicer once we have the Christmas tree. My sister and I are thinking of buying a new Christmas tree, I hope we find a design somewhat similar to Fig trees and if we can’t find any, we’ll just use the Christmas tree we have at home and will just buy decors for that. :)

I Need To...

...lose weight that is. In three weeks time, I'll be returning back to work and some of my office clothes doesn't fit yet (I'm thinking positive here). I won't be using our company uniform since the ones that were issued to me for this year was maternity uniform. I need to have it repaired if I will be using it. So now, I'm checking if there are weight loss pills that are safe to take even for breastfeeding mothers like me. Hope to find one soon so I'll lose weight before returning to work. :)

Hannah

Hannah's almost a month old now and is getting bigger and heavier. The marks on her face are also slowly disappearing. I remember one time when one of my cousins visited her and asked about those marks. I just told her that newborn babies have those marks and it will eventually disappear without undergoing any acne treatment. Here’s Hannah at two weeks old. Can you see the marks?

Thing to Consider

If there’s one thing I shouldn’t worry while I’m at this training, it’s pimples. Back home, sweat and dust would easily clog my oil glands, creating an outbreak. Fortunately I don’t get that much pimples, even during puberty so I don't really need acne products. But right here, no sweat, no pollution, pimple free. I haven’t even seen a local here with pimples. Maybe I could consider this to be a place to migrate.

What to Wear?

I’m now overseas to attend a series of trainings at one of our company’s factories. Before my trip, I was trying to think of what clothes to bring over. I was thinking if I should pack some long sleeved shirts and slacks, and maybe a few silk ties. I just decided to pack my polo shirts jeans and a couple of slacks. It turned out that jeans and collared shirts were the norm in the factory. Even my co-trainees and the trainers were dressed casually. Now that’s my kind of attire.

Another Trip

I drove Paul to the airport last Saturday for his training in Germany. He’ll be there for two weeks and will be back on Nov.3. All of us in the house (yes including Hannah) went to the airport with him. Before he left, Paul kept on asking me if he packed everything he needs. I told him I think it’s complete already though I wanted to tell him to bring some diet pills. Hehe! I just had a chat with him the other night and he’s in Germany already. I’m glad he had a safe trip and can’t wait to see him again. :)

Christmas Gifts

Christmas shopping has started for some people and mall sale are everywhere. As for me, I just started listing down our godchildren including their age so that I’ll know what to give them. I might give educational toys for those 0-5 years old while I’m thinking of giving funny t-shirts for chidren 6-12 years old. What about you? Have you started with your Christmas shopping?

Lance's Birthday!

Again another super late post. Lance turned 2 last September 27 and we just had a simple celebration at home. We first heard mass at 6:30am then went home after. We did not prepare a party for Lance since it's too close to my EDD. Anyway, it was super simple. Aside from the people at home, Lance's guests are his cousins. Ok na din! We're glad they came and celebrated Lance's birthday with us. We just prepared spaghetti, hotdogs, lumpia and my sister bought cake at Contis. Busog naman kami and happy naman si Lance. Hehe! Thanks again to Patrick and family for coming over. :)

Financial Alternatives

I mentioned in my previous post about advance loans. There’s another site I saw that also give payday loans. It’s essentially the same thing, you get your cash fast. But they don’t stop there. They also give some tips and insights on how to fix your credit and give alternatives on how to do it. They have options for debt consolidation loans, car loans, refinancing, mortgages, debt settlement and credit repair. This may all be finance jargon to some people but they have detailed explanations and scenarios on their home page. So if you’re thinking about getting a loan, read up on it and check out their payday advance loan, or their numerous other alternatives.

Money Matters

With the current economic crisis and rising cost of living, people are tightening their belts and scrimping even more. Some people manage to get by but the problem is when there are unexpected expenses to be made. There are several options like bank loans and cash advance from your credit card. The thing is with bank loans, it may take time for you the get the cash, while for credit cards, you just might have bad credit. Another popular alternative nowadays are payday advance loans from online financial institutions. It’s relatively easy to qualify for a loan, and the loan can be deposited to your account as soon as the next day. Interest rates can be a little high, but hey if you need cash immediately, I guess it could be well worth it.

Tadeo Get Together

A month ago (haha! super late post), Paul's siblings and their family went here to get their share from the balikbayan box that my FIL and their step mother sent. It was really a good time for the kids and for us adults to bond.

Kids got toys, clothes, pencils and stickers and of course chocolates. We got Spam canned goods and some t-shirts. I was also happy with the diapers we got. It was too small for all of the kids so we got them for Hannah. We'll sure save a lot from those. Hehe!

To Dad and Tita Flor, thanks so much!

Every Lunch Break...

… people here at work are playing word factory. As in they eat fast so that they’ll have more time to play. Sometimes I join in the game if I’m done with my lunch and have nothing else to do. And I have this officemate who often gets a low score or no score at all and one colleague offered to buy her a Starbucks coffee just to motivate her to find more words and win at least one round. So far she won a few already. I guess the coffee is a good motivation. Hehe!

Are You Boring or Interesting

You Are 64% Interesting

You are a fairly interesting person. Many people find you to be intriguing.

You have a dynamic, adventurous life... a life that others envy.

You are genuinely interested in and open to the world.

You love making new friends, and you're always up for an unusual experience.

Like everyone else, you can get a bit boring from time to time. That's normal.

But unlike everyone else, you can pull yourself out of a rut. You don't stay boring for long.

I'm Still Here

Last Saturday, we went to my OB for my check up and she told me that I’m 2cm dilated already and that if I want to give birth yesterday, I must drink Castor Oil to trigger contractions since it will make me poop. I did not buy it yet last Saturday and just continued walking as one option. But last night, I took castor oil hoping to give birth today. So while waiting for more frequent and stronger contractions, I decided to go online now and finish my task and write something about online trading. Hope I’ll give birth today or if not tomorrow so that I’ll be home before Saturday for Lance’s 2nd birthday. Please pray for a safe delivery for me. Thanks! :)

If You Need A Hand I'm Here

Vannie sent me a sweet poem. Thanks sis!

"We need friends for many reasons,
all throughout the season.
We need friends to comfort us when we are sad,
and to have fun with us when we are glad.
We need friends to give us good advice,
We need someone we can count on,
and treat us nice.
We need friends to remember us
one we have passed sharing memories
that will always last."

I’m currently addicted to plurk, I registered just last week and it’s now part of my daily schedule. That even now I’m writing about Garmin GPS I’m still plurking. Hehe! I like it because I get to talk to my friends and catch up with them in case I wasn’t online when they were chatting. With twitter, I get to talk to some friends too who doesn’t have an account with plurk. And with YM, I’ve been using this for several years already and this is where I get to talk to my cousins residing abroad. This also helps if I need to show something to my parents since they live near my cousin’s house. These three makes my day, hehe!

Things to do:

I need to list down the things that I need to do this week since I might give birth anytime now.

  • Process flow for OSP Contractors Billing
  • Review DRRs for revised documents
  • Process flow for I-view department
  • Write something about Chicago accident attorney.
  • Finish all pending online tasks.
  • Double check hospital bag if complete.
  • Check also documents that are needed in the hospital if complete, marriage contract, philhealth form, baby book, etc.

I think that’s about it. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish everything before our little princess arrives. Can’t wait! :)

Wine and more wine

As I blogged previously, Paul is leaving again for Germany next month. I remember during his last trip to Europe, he was telling me that he hardly drank water when they were there because restaurants always serve wine. That sometimes he felt groggy at the end of the day because of too much wine. It made me think that since they love wine, they may even have a wine of the month club to feature different wines. Oh well, I’m sure Paul will once again get a taste of their wine when he goes there.

These were taken when he was still sleeping in his crib. Sweet nila no! hehe!

The one on the left naman was when we moved him to sleep with us sa bed. While the one on the right was taken inside our car. We never leave the house without the small barney. :)

Another Trip

Paul told me that he might go to Germany next month to attend a training sponsored by their office. He’s just waiting for the invitation letter from their office in Germany so that he can apply for a visa. Their travel agent was asked to look for good and affordable flight deals for this trip. I think he’ll be there for two weeks and I’m going to miss him. I’m sure Lance is going to miss him too. He always asks for his dad when he wakes up in the morning and finds out that his dad left for work already. I just tell Lance that his daddy will be back soon and he’ll just smile at me. Anyhow, I better start looking for clothes for Paul for this trip since its cold in Germany when he goes there. :)

Money Matters

Paul and I are very careful now with our expenses especially with the coming of baby Hannah. We had our budgeting and planning discussion to know how to handle our finances properly. I listed down the monthly expenses which consists of payment for utilities, milk for Lance (I’m still hoping I’ll be successful with breastfeeding Hannah), diapers for Lance and Hannah, immunization, our food and other grocery items, nanny’s salary, etc. Then I listed down our monthly income and set aside a certain amount for our savings. I just hope we’ll be able to follow our set budget and won’t have extra expenses. Good luck to us!

Coffee Break ver. 1.34

From Jan's coffee break:

One thing I love most about Christmas is the atmosphere of the people. It’s as if they don’t have problems and all are in good mood. I also love the christmas lights and the displays on the buildings. Of course who wouldn't love bonuses that can be used for christmas shopping. But most of all, I love the get-together of families celebrating the birth of our saviour. :)
