What Should You Be When You Grow Up?

You Should Be a Politician

Confident, assertive, and dedicated - you know what you want in life and how to get it.
Stubborn and opinionated, you can stand your ground... even if it's unpopular.
And while you have strong views, you never overwhelm people with your opinions.
A true charmer, you subtly influence people into seeing things your way.

You do best when you:

- Work according to your own rules
- Can change the world with what you do

You would also be a good lawyer or talk show host.

Car Parts

The logistics personnel here in our office is currently looking for auto parts for our President’s car. He said that he needs to find a supplier that can give him car parts He also mentioned that he is looking for ford auto parts since our President is currently using a Ford. I’m not sure if he found something already but the purchasing group is helping him find what he needs. They were also advised to look online and if they do, I’m sure soon they’ll find what they’re looking for. and accessories at a low price.

The Amazing Race Asia

I always watch the show especially now that the Philippine team (Marc and Rovilson) is always the first to reach the pit stop. But last night was different. The Singaporeans (Collin and Adrian) were the first team to arrive at the pit stop making them # 1 on the 10th leg of the race. The lead all started in the train station. Marc and Rovilson and the rest of the teams got tickets for direct train to Budapest that will leave at 7:30am while Collin and Adrian took a different route. They purchased tickets that will leave at 5:00am to Budapest but will make a detour first to Vienna. That train will arrive in Budapest an hour and a half earlier that the direct train. That’s why they were able to take the lead.

During the course of the race, my sister and I were starting to get scared because Marc and Rovilson were on the 4th place already but thank God, they got ahead of the other teams because of some errors those teams committed. And at last Marc and Rovilson finally got to the pit stop making them #2.

I just hope they’ll be able to catch up with Collin and Adrian on the next leg. Good luck Team Philippines!

Tasks Expired

I have several tasks that expired today. Sayang! L I was busy for the past few days that I don’t have the time to blog. I was supposed to do it last night but when I got home from work, Lance has colds and I need to attend to him. Plus my brother asked me pa to run some errands for him. After dinner, I was about to start the task when Lance cried. He can’t breathe properly because of his colds. I transferred him to our bed and lull him to sleep. From then on I stayed with him na in bed because whenever I try to stand, he’ll hold on to me as if telling me not to go. Kaya I was not able to blog. But of course ok lang, marami pa naman dadating na tasks (sana!) and syempre Lance is my priority. He’s doing better na before I left for work. Late pa nga ako kasi di ako makaalis agad because I was observing Lance pa. He still has colds pero he’s better na now compared last night. And hopefully tuloy tuloy na. I’m just glad na ever since he was born, never pa siya nagkaron ng fever. Pinakamalalang sakit na niya yung cough and colds and sana palaging ganon. :)

IT Stuff

We bought a wireless router a couple of weeks ago so we could share the internet connection we had at home with our PCs at home. Toni and I went to several computer stores to check it out, the only problem was if they don’t have it in stock, I’m not too keen on the brand they carry. Fortunately, we finally found one that I particularly liked. Unfortunately, it was in a mall, so they jacked up the price a bit compared to the other stores. Well, it was easy to set up, I just tweaked the security a bit and had it going in just a few minutes. I’m only griping about the cost I got it for. But now I know where to look. I found websites that sell new and used cisco, hp, compaq and other computer hardware, routers, servers, and other IT products and services. I’d check on these first next time before I make a purchase.

Showers and Faucets

I did a lot of traveling in my previous job. Jet lag can be such a pain in the neck that a nice relaxing shower would be very welcome. It relaxes your body and relieves the stress, so that’s usually one of the first things I do when I get to the hotel. If there’s one thing I noticed in the hotels I stayed in are the bathroom fixtures. Not only do they all look pretty, it does its job well. The faucets have a steady stream of water, it doesn’t splash water all over the place, plus the shower head that provides consistent pressure hence a relaxing bath. So if I’m going to remodel the fixtures in our house, I’d get at least a Hansgrohe faucet, it has the perfect balance of both beauty and functionality.

TV Lifts

Some of the items Toni and I would like to have is a new television. What we have now is your regular TV with the picture tube, not to mention it had to undergo some repairs the past two years. An LCD TV would be cool. What would be even more cool is for the it to be mounted on one of those popup tv lifts, like the ones you see in the movies. If you’re just hanging out in the living room listening to your music, just stow away that tv with a click of a button. Another advantage of this is you could set aside the tv when the kids are playing in the room. They might trip on the wires so having built-in cable management would be important. Luckily, these are all available online, just a mouse click away.

Dinner With Kuya Erwin et al

We had dinner with my cousin (kuya Erwin) and his wife and in-laws at Krocodile Grillery at Greenbelt last December. We were supposed to eat at Sentro 1771 but it’s full and since they’re craving for Filipino food and Krocodile has few people so we ate there.

Our dinner was special because we haven’t seen our cousin since 1982 (yup it’s been 25 years!). I was really amazed because he still knew us very well. We seldom talk online or on the phone that’s why I was touched that he still know all of us. We’re a big family (I have 20 first cousins on my father side) and he knew us all including the wives and the kids considering that the last time he was here was 25 years ago. Too bad lang only a few of us were able to make it sa dinner.

Hope to see you again Kuya Erwin and of course with Ate Jenny.

Starting Up A Business

Few of my friends are planning to put up a business and would like me to be part of it. We don’t have that much budget and we’re currently looking for someone to help us with StartUp Financing. I actually saw EZUnsecured.com in the net and they provide Start-Up Financing. I read great feedbacks from their previous clients and it was also mentioned that they provide excellent service and fast funding. I will let my friends know about this one so that we can Start Up Financing our business. If all is settled, we can apply right away since it can be done online.

Engagement Rings

Like what people say, diamonds are girls’ best friend. It is true, right? Every girl would love to receive diamonds especially if they are diamond engagement rings. I found a site that offers great deals on engagement rings. They have very nice designs and they have a wide array of jewelries to choose from. I checked the site and I like their designs. Plus the site is hacker safe so you need not worry when you buy online. I don't know anyone yet who's getting married but if I've learned of someone who's going to tie the knot, I'll definitely recommend the site.

What Color Crayon Are You?

You Are a Yellow Crayon

Your world is colored with happy, warm, fun colors.
You have a thoughtful and wise way about you. Some people might even consider you a genius.
Charming and eloquent, you are able to get people to do things your way.
While you seem spontaneous and free wheeling, you are calculating to the extreme.

Your color wheel opposite is purple. You both are charismatic leaders, but purple people act like you have no depth.

Coffee Makers

I was rummaging through the top shelf of our cabinet the other day to stow away some of our stuff and I saw there several of the still unused gifts we received for our wedding. Not that we don’t like them, it’s just that we have no use for 3 coffee makers in the house. Don’t get me wrong, I like coffee, brewed if available, but I would settle for instant just to get my caffeine fix. That reminds me…that’s one of the things I miss from my previous job, unlimited access to brewed coffee. Maybe it’s time we open up one of the coffee makers we have here.

Baby Furniture

As Lance gets bigger, the more stuff we need to get for him of course. That’s why Toni and I are always on the look out for baby furniture. The thing is Lance has a lot of clothes (as gifts and hand me downs hehehe). We had a separate cabinet for him but he quickly filled that out so we set aside first some of the bigger clothes he got. When we brought them out after some time, some of them would hardly fit anymore. That’s why we decided to get him a new dresser, so we could arrange all his clothes so as not to forget about the other clothes he has. We still need to get more stuff for Lance, like his own bed, he can’t sleep in his crib or co-sleep with us all the time. And believe it or not, we’re also looking out for new baby cribs. His current cribs still do fine jobs on their own; it’s just that when we have another baby, we don’t think it’ll stand up to more abuse. Lance is big for his age, size and weight wise. What he’ll do some times is hold on to the bars of his cribs then shake them as hard as he can. We’d hear the crib creak every time he does this, and the whole crib would even move several inches from its place from his shaking. So in a way, Toni and I are always on the prowl for baby stuff. :)

Building Houses and More..

My godfather who is a civil engineer has several projects this year. What a way to start the year, right? He said that some of his projects include building a 2 storey house, a bungalow, and some buildings. I remember my two uncles got him when they were building their own house and I love how both house turned out. Plus according to my uncles, the construction did not take long and they did not encounter any problems.

My godfather was telling me that he always make sure that he is up to date with the current developments in the construction industry. He makes sure that he is aware of the CSkills needed and also the rest of the employees in the firm. Constructing buildings or houses entails a big amount of money so he has to make sure that he won’t fail his clients. I told him that if ever we’ll be getting our new house, I’d like him to be the one in-charge of everything. I do hope we can have our own house soon.

Garcia Christmas Party

Another overdue post. We had our annual family Christmas party last December 22 at my cousin’s house in Angono, Rizal. As always, we (my sister, cousin and I) were asked to prepare the games and other activities for the party. Our theme as always is red and green, and those who won’t wear red or green will have a fine and the money will be included in the money pot game.

We started at 4pm with a prayer then on with the games. The games we prepared were a hit. We had a guessing game where everyone can participate. We have several items in a clear container that you have to guess the quantity of each. We had paper clips, push pins, and kornik. Hehe! We also had the money pot game, last man standing, arrange yourselves, trip to Jerusalem (with a twist), paper plate relay, shoot the calamansi, pen shooting race, etc. The games we prepared were a mixture of games for the kids and adults.

Everyone had a great time and had fun with the games. Plus all of us, including the yayas were included in the raffle so all went home with something. Below are some of the pics during our party:

Locked Door

Our Sunday normally begins with a mass at the chapel near our house. That’s what we did last Sunday only this time it was a bit different. Upon getting home from the church, we found out that all our doors were locked from the inside thus we can’t go in. haha! Normally kasi, we pass by the backdoor when leaving the house. Our front door kasi has a lock na when you close it na, you can’t open it unless you’re inside, so what we do is close the front door then go out of the house thru the backdoor and lock it with a padlock.

Last Sunday, my sister was the last one who went out of the house. She said she passed by the front door since it’s still open. Before her Paul was the last one to leave. Di kami sabay-sabay umalis ng bahay, hehe! Walking distance lang yung house from the church kaya ok lang. I left the house kasi agad with Lance and the yaya because Lance wants to go out na. Didn’t know naman that Paul will leave din the door open, like what we did. Hehe! So ayun, syempre since my sister is the last one to leave the house, she closed the front door. Upon getting home, that’s when we learned that the back door hasn’t been opened yet. Lance’s yaya kasi usually opens the back door in the morning to throw garbage or do any household chore pero last Sunday, we all woke up late kaya we hurried na and took a bath so she did not open the back door anymore.

Paul was trying to open the front door pero I was telling him na we can’t open it and has no choice but to kick the back door until the lock gives in. So Paul first tried kicking the door, and then my sister tried it too, then the three of us (paul, yaya and me) tried pushing the door together but to no avail. Lance doesn’t know naman what’s happening and just keeps on walking at the garage. It was difficult din kasi to kick the door since medyo mataas yung lock so dapat yung force was don sa may lock mismo. Finally after Paul’s nth try of kicking and banging the door, the lock gave in at nasira na. We’re glad di nasira yung door and yung lock lang. hehe! We were able to go inside the house. On that day din, we bought a new lock to replace the broken one. :)

My Brother's FIL

My brother’s father-in-law whom we also call daddy likes Lance so much. We live near their house since we occupied the house where my brother and his family were staying before they migrated. Lance’s morning routine includes visiting my brother’s in-laws, which they appreciate since Lance became the “replacement” of Ethan, my nephew whom they really miss.

The only time they won’t go to daddy’s house is when either Lance or his nanny has colds. You see, my brother’s FIL had a kidney transplant 2 o 3 years ago and he’s also diabetic that’s why we’re very careful of his health. He has this one bag of medical supplies which he brings anywhere he goes so that when he experience pain, it can be cured right away.

Right now, he’s doing very well and we’re really glad for that. We just have to always be careful not to inflict him with any sickness, may it be colds or whatever, so that he’ll remain healthy.

Tita Sening’s 75th Birthday

Our aunt (who’s an old maid by the way, hehe!), turned 75 last December 14. We decided to give her a surprise party since she doesn’t have any celebration. We all felt that reaching that age is such an accomplishment plus the fact that she remains healthy and strong. Would you believe she sometimes goes to Batangas by herself tapos commute lang? Some even say that she doesn’t look 75, at syempre happy ang tita ko.:)

Anyway, we went to my cousin’s house (where my aunt is staying) around lunch time. We have pot luck kaya everyone who went brought their share of food. We brought cake from banapple since we like them to taste banapple’s cake and all of them liked it. Yehey! After eating, we just chatted lang and planned for our Christmas party. We left the house at 4:00pm. My aunt thanked all of us and we’re glad we made her happy.

Abdiel's Baptism

The newest addition to our family, baby Abdiel was baptized last December 2 (hehe tagal na!) at Imus Cathedral. Abdiel is my cousin’s son. When we first learned that my cousin was pregnant, we all hoped that their baby will be a boy. They already have two pretty girls and my cousin would like to have a son naman. And God answered their prayers. And yun nga, last December they had him baptized. Here are some pictures during the baptism:

Your Fashion Style

I was bloghopping and saw this at Amore's blog and like her I also got intrigued so I took the test and here is the result.

Your Fashion Style is Sporty

You're a natural beauty who doesn't need fancy clothes to look good
You prefer your clothes to be comfortable, so you can stay on the go
For you, femininity is not how you wear - but how you wear it.
Still, don't be afraid to show off that great body in a dress or skirt!

I agree with the result of my test. That's how I dress up, mostly in jeans and shirt and with no make up (since i don't know how to put on makeup). But I also like wearing skirts sometimes, although lately I don't wear skirts na because i find it hard taking care of Lance when I'm wearing a skirt. :)

Calla Lilies

My friend who got married last December had a beautiful wedding. She looks very pretty in her wedding gown and the groom was all smiles when she saw her. Her bridal bouquet was two dozens of calla lilies and it looks really nice. When she was just preparing, she really wanted calla lilies as bouquet and even considered mini calla lilies as flowers for her entourage. She decided against it because she would like to be different from her sponsors and I agree with her. On her wedding day, her flowers looked so nice and the color matches her motif. She made the right decision in choosing the flowers for her bouquet. I’ll post the pictures as soon as I have them so that I can show them to you. :)

Trip to Divi

As mentioned here, we had a Christmas party for the employees’ children last dec. 14, so on the first week of December, two of my officemates and I went to Divisoria to buy toys, prizes and gifts for the kids. We had a hard time buying because there are a total of 100 kids listed. We have to make sure that each and every kid in the list will receive a gift or else, employees will complain. We also need to categorize the ages of the kids and classify their gender. So you could just imagine how many toys we bought. We were really tired on that day because the toys we bought were bulky and it was in December so there are a lot of people buying. And since we bought a lot, we need to make several trips to and from the parking area (which is far from divi mall by the way). We also went to bodega sale to buy toys as prizes for the games. It was really a very tiring day, but come Christmas party, children were happy with what they got and it’s all worth it. :)

Thoughts on Houses

More and more people I know are buying their own houses. Last week I heard Toni’s cousin was applying for a housing loan. Then just this afternoon Toni told me that her colleague did the same thing. Hearing the news is really making me think if we should do the same. Of course we’d like to have a place of our own. If we did the same, the monthly rent we’re currently paying would then be used for the monthly amortization. There are also various terms that we could consider like the length of the loan and others. Should we decide to apply and get approval for the loan, that would be a whole new ball game. One of the first things I would do would be to get home owners insurance. I mean you’ll never know. If I’d be “investing” for my home, might as well cover all the bases, right? In case you’re thinking what’s keeping us from pursuing this endeavor, its location. As you know, most of the locations of houses that are up for loans are in the nearby provinces like Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna. Let’s just say that Toni and I would like to stay in our comfort zone hahaha. We are amenable to it but not just now. Let’s see first what the future has in store. Anyway, if you guys know houses that are being loaned out with reasonable terms, just shoot us a line, alright?

Top Family Cars

I read in one magazine the top family cars here in our country. Most of the cars listed there are SUVs. Probably because those cars are big enough to carry all the members of the family and the things that they usually need whenever they go somewhere. Ford is included in the list and if I have enough money, I’ll buy a Ford too. I also like the Ford Taurus and I read that it’s also a nice family car. It has large trunk, roomiest interior, and a lot more features. And if we’ll have one, we’ll also get a Taurus Radiator to keep the cooling system running efficiently. I hope this year we can buy a car so that we won’t have to borrow my sister’s car anymore. :)

This Blog Is A Treasure

Nice thought of this blog as a treasure so she gave me this award. It's a good way to start the New Year! Thanks Nice!

Like Nice, I also think this blog is a treasure too. I was able to share my thoughts and whatever is happening in my life to my family who are out of the country and also to my friends. This also served as a diary where I put accomplishments, memorable and important things that are going on in my life. I also gained a lot of friends through this blog and last but not the least, I earn money on the side which is a big help to us.
I'd like to pass the award to some of my friends: Aggie, Mhay, Abie, Kitts, and Bang.

Taking Care of your Health

In these day and age, different kinds of sickness and diseases are emerging. Some were really scary that can cause you your life while others can be cured by medicines. Gone are the days were people live up to 100 years old and more. Some examples of sickness are Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and then there’s fibromyalgia.

There’s few more sickness or symptoms that we need to watch out for. But more than that, we really have to be careful of our health. We have to be conscious of what we eat and try to live a healthy life. In that way, sickness will be lessened and all of us will enjoy our lives.

Adtel Christmas Parties

This is a super delayed post. I was busy last month and was not able to update this blog as much as I want to.

Anyway, our company had two Christmas parties this year. The first one was last December 7 held in our office. It’s just a simple one since the management focused more on the Children’s party that will be held the following week. I was heading the committee on both parties and there were only a few committee members who really did their part kaya medyo ngarag ang lola niyo. The Christmas party in our office was not too difficult to handle since it’s just a simple party. We just prepared some games and raffle items and asked the employees to wear green or red. The Children’s party was a different story.

The employees’ kids total to 100+ and total headcount was 300. Finding a venue was a challenge since we have limited funds plus they prefer venue that’s just near our office. Finally we chose Max’s at Scout Tuazon. The place is big enough to accommodate us plus the food there is cheap yet delicious.

I got Alex Lagula as host thru Apple and as always he was a hit. Kids and adults alike enjoyed the party because of him. I also hired a Santa Claus mascot (again thru apple), since kids loves Santa Claus and true enough, nagkagulo yung mga kids nung dumating na si Santa. We had difficulty distributing the loot bags since they were not listening anymore and just wants to touch Santa or have a picture with him.

I was really dead tired preparing for this party and during the party itself since this is the first time we had a party for the employees’ children. And of course, some employees tend to complain or some don’t want to cooperate. Pero buti na lang, everyone had a great time and they all congratulated me and the rest of the committee for a job well done. :)
