BDJ Planner

My planner was delivered last weekend. I actually ordered it last November pa but since I was busy, I was not able to deposit my payment right away. It's my 3rd year to order BDJ planner and I really am happy with it. This year's planner is better; the designs are nicer, and there are more coupons pa. Can't wait to use it! For those of you who are still looking for a nice gift, you may want to consider giving this one. :)

Back To The Shop

Now that my father-in-law has gone back to the States, my sister-in-law is considering bringing her car back to the garage to have everything repaired. There are still a few problems with the car, mainly electrical problems – right side doors can’t be remotely unlocked, cabin light doesn’t turn on all the time, lights on the dashboard. She knows it’s going to cost her but she’s sure they can work something out, they do rv financing after all.

Christmas Party

Last Wednesday, we had our office Christmas Party at the Renaissance Tower in Pasig. Our theme is United Nations and we were divided into three continents; Asia, Europe and North America. All employees are required to wear a costume pertaining to the continent where their group belongs. This is also part of the requirement to win prizes for the raffle. We have washing machine, tv, microwave oven, espresso machines, cash and a lot more. Everyone came in costumes and we really had a great time. I was again tasked to host the party together with one of my officemates. Our group was assigned to wear clothes representing Asia and I came as a Vietnamese. I still can’t find a pic of myself to share with you so I’ll leave you with this, a picture of my officemates who came as Mexicans. :)

Shopping

Until now, I have not been to any bazaar and its middle of December already, and because of that I am not yet complete with my gifts to my godchildren. My sister and I plan to shop on Sunday and hopefully there is still a bazaar at the NBC tent. I hope I can find a Dansko shoes there for that’s what I plan to give to my 10yr old godson. I am also looking for a gift for my two other godchildren and I hope to score a nice blouse too. We’ll see, I really hope I’ll be able to find everything I need on Sunday.

What To Give

We will have our department’s Christmas party next Friday and I am not yet done shopping for gifts to my co-employees. I already have gifts for the female but for the male employees, I have no idea what to give them, perhaps a Black and Mild cigars, but I’m not sure if they smoke. :D My last option is to give them food which I hope they will like. :)

The Holidays

The holidays are just right around the corner. That means the Christmas vacation is coming. It looks like we’ll be staying home for the holidays. No grand trips, no bookings at cheap hotels in miami; just stay home and spend time with the family. Since the nannies’ would be taking a vacation, there’d be no one else but us to take care of the kids and manage the house. With the way the kids are now, I’m sure we’ll have our hands full.

Slacker

Okay, don’t tell anybody, but I am so sleepy here at work. It’s a slow day – and the internet too, nothing much to do, the boss is out. I was able to do some work earlier though. If I did it all in one go, that would amount to maybe 5 minutes of my time here at work. Received a call from a customer, updated some files, receive another call from someone looking for health insurance leads, call a customer to make an appointment for tomorrow, that’s about it I guess. Now it’s time to slack off, watch a movie or two, take a power nap, and just wait until six. Looks like I still have a lot to do. Better get on with it.

That’s what my friends told me the last time I saw them. I was so busy with work for the past few weeks that I had sleepless nights that made me look old and haggard. My friends were telling me to look for the best wrinkle treatment that I can get to make me look like my age. Haayy… I really hope all the stress that this project is giving me will pay off.

"If you were a Starbucks drink, what would you be and why?"
I really don't go to starbucks that often and whenever I go there, my usual order is mocha frap hehe! Why? I don't know, I just love the taste and it really calms me down whenever I drink one. hehe!

There goes my entry. If you want to win a planner to, go visit maver's site and place your entries. Good luck to us! :)

Vacation

Our passport will be expiring soon so Paul and I are planning to renew it before the year ends coz that’s when most people are busy with Christmas and we’re hoping that DFA will be able to assist us faster. We also plan to get a passport for Hannah since Lance has one already. If we have passports already, we hope to have a family vacation but we still don’t have a destination yet hehe! We plan to live like those of myrtle beach condo rentals so that our stay will be more fun. I hope our vacation plans will push thru but for now, we need to have our passports renewed first. :)

Exchange Gift

Last Friday, we had our General Assembly in the office and a small Christmas party. That’s where we also had our exchange gift. Before we gave out our gifts to our babies” the human resources asked us to write down our wishlist so that our “mommies” won’t have a hard time looking for a gift to us. At that time, I plan to write Personalized Jewelry in my wishlist but I know it’s out of the budget so I asked for a gadget organizer but unfortunately it’s out of stock. My mommy then gave me a card reader which I appreciate so much because at least I won’t have to bring several cables to transfer tons of pictures. Thank you so much “mommy”!

Holiday

It’s holiday today in my part of the world. We are celebrating the birth of one of heroes Andres Bonifacio. But I’ll be going to work today to prepare for our audit on Wednesday. I still have so many things to do and I’m afraid that if I won’t go to work today, I won’t be able to finish it in time for the audit. I also asked my staff to go to work to help me finish the documents. In the mean time, let me share with you a picture of Lance playing with his cousins when we were in Batangas. I’ll post more updates as soon as I’m done with the audit. :)

Catching Up With Friends

I have several dinners scheduled this December to meet my friends. This will also serve as our Christmas party already. I have dinner with officemates, then HS and College friends. I was chatting with one of my HS friends and was asking him when will he be back from his orlando vacations so that he can join us in the dinner. He said he’ll be here by 2nd week of December so we scheduled our dinner on that weekend. My Saturdays from 1st week to 3rd week of December are booked already for dinners. I’m sure I will gain weight again this coming holidays. I better hit the gym again on January.

Trip To Batangas

Last Saturday, me and my family went to Batangas with my sister for my uncle’s death anniversary. Almost all of my cousins went there too. We decided to leave early in the morning because we expect there will be heavy traffic due to the long weekend. I woke up at 12 midnight to prepare our things and also to check whatever clothes I can give to my relatives staying in the province. I was able to finish preparing by 1:30 and decided not to sleep anymore because we will wake up at 3am since we’re planning to leave the house at 4am. Because I was not able to sleep much that night, people noticed the dark circles under eyes and even my aunt advised me what to put on it to lessen the darkness. The kids had so much fun playing on the grounds, and even Hannah played with them too. We left Batangas at 6:30pm and got home by 10. It was one fun-filled day. :)

Mr. Fix-It

Thanks to my father-in-law, he was able to fix whatever needed fixing inside the house. These include the leaking sinks, the flushing mechanism on one of the toilets, the rack for the Christmas village, as well as some electrical and lighting fixtures. It’s good he brought a lot of tools on his way home. He did such a great job, we’re thinking of giving more things to work on like maybe install hand dryers and bidets.

Movie Night

Toni, her sister, her cousin and I watched New Moon last Wednesday. The cinema was packed, considering that it was a weeknight. If there’s one scene that I will not forget was that when Jacob took off his shirt for the first time in the movie – no, not because my jaw dropped to the floor and I had to wipe the drool dripping from the corner of my mouth, no I’m not like that - but because you could hear all the girls in the cinema draw in one collective gasp. Really. Of course this was expected as Taylor Lautner said in his interviews prior to the release of the film was that he had to get really buffed for the movie. I read he did it the hard way to build up all those muscles, no anabolic steroids or hgh or whatever. You’ve got to hand it to the guy; he’s committed to his craft. To tell you the truth I’m not a fan of the franchise, but I don’t hate it either. It is an entertaining movie though, and I think it’s paving the way to a new genre of film and literature – fantasy romance. This second installment pretty much picked up where the last one ended, so you’d need to watch the first movie to understand what’s happening. But I’m sure you already have.

Thanksiving Holiday

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are here. Okay so maybe we really don’t have that in this part of town – though a huge retailer is starting to pick it up – but it sure would be great. If we had that here, one of the first things I’ll surely buy is a Samsung HDTV. I’ve seen Samsung panels up close as we used them for the displays in one of my previous companies; I have a lot of respect for it. So if I see a huge discount on these things, I’d get me one in a jiffy.

Christmas Is Here!

Here in our part of the world, Christmas season always comes early. As early as September, malls and stores would start displaying artificial christmas trees and decorations on their storefront, as well as play Christmas carols and songs on their PA system. Other signs are bazaars sprouting out from everywhere selling anything and everything, not to mention the sale that the malls have every week. I did a little shopping already when my sis asked me to go with her to the richwell sale. The items are not as good as last year but it still way cheaper when you buy to the malls and since I’m there already, I was able to buy a few gifts for inaanaks. I’m still on the lookout for sales since I’m not yet done shopping. This is the only time that Paul doesn’t complain when I buy things. Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year! :)

Everybody’s been raving how nice this movie is and it’s only on 3rd day of showing. My online friends watched this on its first day and they said that this is really worth seeing and it got me more excited. Sadly, I still don’t know when I will be able to watch the movie. We were out of town for the past 3 days for our annual business planning and I left tons of work behind that I need to finish before my audit on December 2. My sister’s been bugging me to watch it this week and I really hope I’ll find the time to watch it with her, Paul and my cousin. Wish me luck!

Trying To Save More

I was giving Lance a bath when he poured water on a corner of the bathing area and I noticed some loose tiles there. Fortunately, the tiles just came loose and not broken so there’s no jagged edges. Nevertheless, we’re going to get that fixed, as well as add some glass tiles to the bathroom wall to let more natural light in. I hope the savings brought about by the decrease in the use of lights in the bathroom would pay for the repairs we’re planning.

Full Service

One of the things I’ve read recently on foreign news is about the healthcare program in the US. It’s a big issue since we’re talking about the welfare of the citizen’s here. I may not be affected here but my in-laws are so it is somewhat of importance to me. Here in our country, people go overseas to get treatment not available locally. In the US however, people might go overseas to have treatment that costs less. For orthopedic procedures like hip replacement and spine surgery Mexico hospitals are offering special promo packages which include all medical, surgical and pre-op test fees plus all ground transportation between airport, hotel and hospital. Sounds like hotel treatment in a hospital.

Re-servicing?

My sister-in-law went to Batangas to drop of her dad and aunts to attend to some family matters. It’s the second time for the car to make a trip to Batangas since it was fixed from the effects of the recent floods. The car isn’t completely alright as some electrical components aren’t really working. The SIL is thinking about bringing it back to the garage – which happen to offer motorhome towing; something you don’t see everyday - to have everything working right. Maybe in the next couple of weeks. We all hope the repairs don’t take very long.

Sunday Routine

It's another Sunday so that means another trip to the grocery. The whole family went on this particular trip so both Lance and Hannah was in the shopping cart with the stuff we bought. There weren’t a lot of people at the store, maybe because it just recently reopened due to an unscheduled renovation brought about by recent events. Thanks also to the barcode scanner at the counter, we were in and out of there in no time. Since the kids seem to like riding in the cart, it looks like everyone will be coming again on our next trip to the grocery.

Go Mobile

We have been contemplating for the longest time to buy a netbook. The development of netbooks is just so timely. Laptops are a little too much to scrimp and save for in these tough times. Today’s netbooks cost about half as much as regular laptops. Yes laptops pack more power – as well as weight and cash – but if all you need is a machine for mobile computing, netbooks are definitely worth looking into.

Something For My Eyes

I slept late for the past two nights. The other night, I was just browsing and doing online tasks and last night, I was checking on Paul’s condition. People have been telling me that I have dark circles around my eyes but I haven’t done anything yet to lessen it. I was informed that one of the reasons for it is because I don’t get enough sleep. A friend recommended an eye cream and according to her it is the best eye cream she ever used. Maybe I should try that one too and hopefully these dark circles will be gone.

I was on leave today because Paul is not feeling well. We already went to the doctor last Saturday and he was advised to go on leave for a week. Today he was complaining of backache so I decided to stay home to monitor his condition. The rashes on his back are developing as what we read and saw at Wikipedia. There are more rashes growing on his back but we’re not sure if it’s related to the one he has now because the derma said the rashes will grow in just one area and the new ones Paul have are in another area. Wawa Paul, I really hope he gets well soon.

Just the other night, Toni, her sister, and I were talking about the things we have in line for their dad to do when he gets here – these include install the doorbell, get a new doorknob for ate Sharon’s room, fix the leaking sink and flushing mechanism of the bathroom, and fix the kitchen sink as well. I guess he’ll have his hands full the whole time he’s here.

We just hope and pray that others who got hit by the storm will be able to recover too.

Fulfillment

I just heard of some new – at least to me – type of business that people call fulfillment company. It was pretty vague for me so I decided to read about it. Well, it is essentially a company that “fulfills” its clients duty - another company. It can be anything from shipping and deliveries, logistics, returns processing, just about whatever you need. I was just surprised there were companies like these, as I haven’t heard about this – at least not locally.

At Last

We were able to celebrate the kids’ party yesterday. God answered our prayers and provided us with a good weather. The sun was shining and not a single drop of rain fell from the sky!

There were only a few who made it to the party. Some texted that they won’t be able to come while others were stuck in traffic because there was a marathon held in Quezon City and they closed the QC circle. But even if there were only a few who were able to come, the kids enjoyed the party and that’s all I ask for.

We have so many excess foods since I think only half of the people we invited were able to come and so Paul and I gave them to the street children near our house. J I’ll post again next time to share with you how the party went.

Gold

A friend once told me, investing in gold is something really worth trying. The returns are much better than investing your hard-earned money into something else. Making gold a collection makes on preserve his wealth and increase his purchasing power. Add to that is the fact that gold increases in value as years go by. And so if you want to try to invest in gold, you may check Monex Deposit Company. They've been known in the business for over 30 years and have kept a very good reputation. They are also the source of different types of gold and even rare coins. So if you're thinking of investing or collecting gold, do check out Monex Deposit Company and I'm sure you'll find whatever it is you're looking for. :)

Party Tomorrow

My sister and I just finished packing the loot bags for Lance's and Hannah's birthday party. As most of you know, we cancelled their party at bounce and decided to hold it at Jollibee. In this way, we will still have fun and celebrate their birthdays in a much cheaper way. We need to save since there are a lot of things to buy because some of our stuff was destroyed by typhoon Ondoy. We hope and pray that the weather will cooperate tomorrow and that the kids will have a great time. Please join me in praying for a good weather. :)

Visit To The Pedia

Paul and I took the kids to the doctor this morning since both of them have cough and colds. Lance has it for two weeks already and Hannah had it when she woke up this morning. We're alarmed of Lance's condition since we've been giving him medicine and he's not getting well.

The pedia said it's because of the dust and molds brought by the recent typhoon. She advised us to scrub the walls and bleach them and throw away all foams that got soaked in the flood. She also prescribed some medicines that the kids should take and asked us to come back next week.

I admit our house is still in total chaos and we're still trying to get things in order. We threw away the foams already and we cleaned our room again today. I really hope everything will be back to normal and that the kids will get well really soon.

Prescription Glasses

My cousin was asking me where he can get nice but very affordable prescription glasses and I told her that I saw a site that offers $ 8 Rx eyeglasses. She immediately checked it and even saw a video that tells some tips on How You Can Start Spending Smart. I also showed her My favorite high fashion eyeglasses, and she liked it too. She said she’ll purchase one as soon as she decides on the style. Below are her options:

Which do you think is the best? :)

I'm Back

Hi! I'm back to work and back online after two weeks. As you all know, we were affected by typhoon Ondoy. I'll post next time what happened to us. I just want to thank everyone for your concern. We’re still cleaning and repairing the house, still doing the laundry and washing everything. There’s really so much to do so please bear with me as I won’t be able to update this blog as much as I want to. Until my next post. :)

Insuring the Elderly

An officemate is trying to buy insurance for her 65-year old father and it seems insuring the elderly require more expensive premiums, since basically, you are looking at a short payment range and short shelf life. So we are trying to look for cheap life insurance for senior citizens, even health insurance plans are so expensive and so strict. I know it's practical for business but a bit unfair since the elderly, like babies, need them the most.

Christmas Gifts for Men

One of the more popular things to give to men lately are Garmin GPS for their cars. Actually it can very much pass for a family gift too since most women drive cars too. I know a friend who knows how to drive but is so very terrible with directions! She needs a map, or a detailed written instruction on how to get where or else she gets lost and is late for appointments!

Glad To Know You Have One

The mail just came in today. Along with the usual bills came letters from a local home insurance company. From the looks of it, the new insurance deals keep on getting better and better. It’s almost like they’re saying “I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse”. Insurance premiums are relatively low but with a wide coverage. Like I said before, insurance policies are things you buy, hope not to use, but will be glad to know you have one.

Weigh In

On Friday, people from our Human Resources group are going to check the weight of the employees who were included in the 120 days wellness program. I am part of the program but I think I haven’t lost weight yet that I’m thinking of taking alli starting tomorrow hoping that it might have an effect before the weekend. Too bad, part of the rule is for contestants to lose weight naturally without taking any medication. But if in case, I am not included in the program, I’m sure I’ll be taking those diet pills. I really, really need to lose weight!

Pimples

I have a big one on my right cheek and Paul has 3 on his face, one on the forehead and 2 on the cheeks. He was telling me that his pimples hurt and are sometimes itchy that I asked him if he needs acne treatment. He said he can still handle it and he just needs to clean his face everyday. As of today, my pimple is gone already while his are starting to wear off. I hope we won’t have pimple breakout again!

Trip To Pampanga

Last week, we went to visit Paul’s uncle in Pampanga. We went there with Patrick and Family and we just met at the gas station in NLEX. I told Paul I’d like to drive on the way to Pampanga since I haven’t driven at NLEX. Hehe! All I can say is wow! I hope SLEX will be like that since we often travel going to Batangas. Road trip will be much fun if the road condition at SLEX is like that of NLEX, hopefully soon!

Anyway, Paul was glad upon seeing his uncle since he was still in college the last time he saw him. I on the other hand, saw him 4 years ago when we went to Tarlac with my FIL, and Paul was in Taiwan then. The kids naman had fun since they get to see other children. Lance played with his cousins outside the house while Hannah had fun walking.

We left Pampanga by 4pm and Paul was the one who drove since the kids were tired from playing. I’m glad I wasn’t the one driving for when we got to balintawak, traffic was bad! Hehe! Can’t remember what time we got home but all of us were tired and immediately went to sleep and rest. :)

Nanny Diaries

There are only a few people who are fortunate to have trusting and loyal nannies. And I’m glad I’m one of them. My cousin is one of the examples of those who are unfortunate to find a good nanny. Before, she got someone who stole from her and left. Another is that she got someone who just wants to go to the city that upon arriving will just spend a day or two in their house then will leave her again. And she also had a nanny who’s a liar and criticizes the work of the other nanny where in fact, she’s the one who doesn’t work well. But among all of these, she’s still fortunate that none of these nannies hurt her kids. There are some mommies who were shocked to know that the nanny they hired to take care of their kids was the ones who hurt them. That’s why some mommies like to install a video surveillance equipment so that they would know if the nannies they hire are doing their job. I’m sure this is a good tool if you want to monitor your household helpers. :)

After 3 Weeks

I was able to go to the gym again last night. I just ran on the treadmill and spent 30 minutes on the elliptical. I did not use other equipments yet because I don’t want to force my body to doing lots of workout. I’ll do that on the coming weeks. Side kwento, how come other people are so annoying? There was this old woman who was using the treadmill that I’m about to use. My schedule was 6pm so when it was time already, I approached the lady and told her that her time is up. She glared at me and asked me for my proof, as if I’m stealing the equipment from her. So I showed her my slip and that’s the only time she left and you can see in her that she’s mad. Hello!! Doesn’t she understand the concept of scheduling? Anyway, she transferred to another machine that we’re scheduled at 6:30. When it’s 6:30 already, my colleague asked one of the trainers to approach the same old woman since she hasn’t left the machine yet even if it’s time already. She again demanded for the slip as if my colleague is lying. After the trainer showed her the slip, she left glaring again. Haayyy…kainis talaga! I hope we won’t encounter her again when we go to the gym next time.

Long Weekend.

We will again enjoy long weekend because our President declared Monday as holiday. I was glad upon hearing it for Monday will be my rest day since we have plans already for this weekend. Tomorrow we will bring Lance to the dentist and also meet a supplier for their birthday party. On Sunday, my cousins will drop by our house before lunch to pick up something then in the afternoon, we will attend a birthday party. That leaves me with Monday as rest day. Here in the office, I just received an email from our Logistics group telling us that they will use the long weekend to clean up the entire office using a central vacuum system. I’m sure our office will be spic and span when we go back to work on Tuesday. I’m glad it’s Friday! Enjoy the weekend everyone! :)

Active Fun! Active Fun!

Active Fun at SM Annex North Edsa is now open and that's where we went yesterday morning. Together with some mommy bloggers (Mai, Jody, Joy and Thea), we brought our kids to enjoy active fun's newest branch. We arrived at 10am and Lance wanted to go inside as soon as he saw the place. He got more excited when he saw the giant slide and the basketball area. Hannah wanted to explore naman the keyboard that lights up and plays a note when you step on it.

If you are looking for a place to bring your kids to have some activities or exercise instead of just playing the computer, then this is the place to be! They have, as mentioned, a giant slide, a basketball ring, suspension bridges and tunnels and a whole lot more! Babies like Hannah's age can play at the area where they can go swimming in the pools of balls.

They also have party packages if you want your children to celebrate their birthday there. Their package consists of invitation, nametags, loot bags, kiddie meals, ice cream, cake, banner and unlimited play and this is just the basic. Their packages varies depending on the number of children. If you like to book a party or have other inquiries, you may contact them at 332-3929 or 215-9891.

And here are the mommy bloggers together with Active Fun's manager Apple Morales who was so nice she even gave us free snacks while the kids are playing and loot for the kids when they're done! :)
