Hannah's Field Trip

I took a leave from work last week to go with Hannah on her field trip.  We went to Dinosaurs Island in Clark Pampanga and we both had fun there.  We left the house around 5:45am to make it to the 6:00am call time.  There were 6 buses and we were on bus number 4.  When we got there, most of her classmates are there already. :)  The teachers just asked the kids to go to the bathroom to pee and off we go.
When we arrived, we were asked to assemble near the entrance so they can group us.  Our bus is grouped with bus #1 and each group there was an assigned tour guide to discuss about the dinosaurs.
When we finally entered the facility, Hannah got scared that she doesn’t want her picture taken.  It took a lot of encouragement and cajoling to make her stand near the dinosaurs for pictures.  She finally said yes when she saw some of her classmates having their pictures taken.
The tour was quite fast.  It took us only one hour I think and we got out already.  There was also a “train” ride that’s optional if you would like to have a closer “encounter” with the dinosaurs.  Hannah said she’d like to try it and we were joined by 2 of her classmates.  It was scary for the kids since you felt like the dinosaurs are really going to eat you.  But thankfully they are brave enough not to cry.
After that we had our lunch and it was free time for the kids until it was time to ride the bus again.  We bought lots of souvenirs and even a pasalubong for Lance.  We got home around 3:00pm and Hannah said she had fun at the field trip.  She said she got scared but at first but she had a great time. :)
If you are fond of dinosaurs, you may visit Dinosaurs Island in Pampanga.

PTC in Hannah's School

Last Saturday, Paul and I went to Hannah’s school for the PTC.  We are really looking forward to that because we would like to know how Hannah is doing in school.  We can see that she can read already though sometimes she gets confused with b and d.  She gets confused with some of the numbers and we would like to know how we can help her to improve.  Also, we want to ask her teacher on how we can better discipline her because both Paul and I are sometimes having a hard time with her attitude.
Anyway, Teacher Jojie showed us the results of the mock exam and on which part Hannah needs to improve.  She said Hannah is doing well and she will just give worksheets so she can practice during sem break.  About the behavior, we asked her some tips on how to discipline her more and she gave us good advice.  Thankfully, Hannah behaves well in school; I just hope she’ll behave the same when she’s at home.

Hopefully we will be able to apply to Hannah the tips Teacher Jojie told us to discipline her but more importantly, we will practice Hannah with the worksheets given to prepare her also with the big school.  Teacher Jojie said she’s ready and we just have to practice her. J

Money Matters for Kids

Last Friday, we went to Gateway to watch Smurfs and at the same time see BSP’s program for kids.   It is located at the activity center in Gateway where kids and adults can visit for free.  Both kids enjoyed looking at the coins from different countries and tracing the coins on a bond paper by using a crayon.  But most of all, they enjoyed the shopping activity.  They have this activity where they are teaching the kids to stick to their budget.  They are given a list of things to shop with budget and a basket cart to put the items they need to buy.  There is also a small calculator where they can check if they exceeded with the budget already.  Cute right? :)
Anyway, I’m just glad that BSP has this program to show kids the importance of money.  For now they just know that you need money to buy things that you need.  It’s good that at least little by little, they know that you need to budget your money and it is really important to save. :)

Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

Lance was absent a couple of days ago because he had a fever.  When he got home last Friday, there were red marks on his hands and feet and it kept on growing the following day that we decided to bring him to the pediatrician.  The pedia said he has this disease and it is contagious that we might watch out if Hannah will have it too.  There were some showing on Hannah’s mouth though we’re not sure if it’s the same disease but we decided not to send her to school tomorrow.  Thankfully Lance doesn’t have school tomorrow and on Tuesday that will give him enough time to rest and recover.  If Hannah still doesn’t have anything on her body by Tuesday morning, we will send her to school na. :)

Hannah's Christmas Party in School

I took a leave from work today to go with Hannah for her first school Christmas party.  It was actually for kids only but the teachers invited me and another co-parent to stay in the room if we like.  So I was there in the room together another mommy watching them play and have their exchange gifts.  The kids took home lots of gifts after the party.  :)

Hannah at the Grocery

Every time we go to the grocery, Hannah makes sure she’ll go with us.  My sister often teases her that she’s like me who loves going out.  Admittedly, that’s how I am in my younger years and yes Hannah got it from me. Hehe!
Normally when we get inside, she’ll sit on the cart until she gets bored and will ask us to put her down.  After that, she will help us in getting food items in the list and will put them in the cart. She also loves to play with the rice especially when she put all of her arms under and will tell me that she doesn’t have arms anymore lol!

After paying, she’ll ask us if she can play at the arcade for a little while and we sometimes let her play.  Here she is riding the train.
I consider going to the grocery as a bonding time for me and Hannah and I look forward to it every time. :)
