HelpfulTip for Pregnant Women

There are some people who usually feel weak even when they are not totally sick of physically ill. One of the best examples for this is the feeling of motion sickness when traveling by land, air or water. People who experience this usually end up nauseated and vomit for a number of times that they end up so weak and worn out during the entire trip. Most of the time, they prefer to take over-the-counter medicines so they can be able to get rid or prevent the sickness while they are on their trip but for some, it is best for them to consider natural remedies because they are worried of the possible side effects that some medicines bring. Though medicines can be effective at all times, it is not advisable to take it regularly unless it is a food supplement.

In addition, the very common people who suffer from nausea are the pregnant ones. During their first trimester, which is the very crucial moment for them, they tend to have morning sickness resulting to vomiting and dizziness. As for some pregnant women, it happens usually when they wake up in the morning but for others, it happens to them at any time of the day.

This illness is most commonly believed to be caused by the sudden hormonal change that happens when a woman gets pregnant accompanied by the mood swings, stress, emotion and even because of the various smell and taste of food.

Perhaps those who haven’t experienced morning sickness may not understand its real effect. It can totally ruin a woman’s daily activities and sense of well being because having to deal with it is just not easy. Imagine, there are pregnant women out there who get to suffer with this sickness almost everyday for three months and things around them can be greatly affected just like their jobs and as well as their lifestyle.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for morning sickness because it is not like the usual cough or fever hat has a cure. In fact, women who are trying to get a cure for this is not actually trying to treat the morning sickness itself, hence the nausea and vomiting that is associated by it. Of course, being pregnant can be so risky that’s why taking medications without the doctor’s prescription is a big NO.

Finding a cure for nausea cause by morning sickness can be quite difficult because it naturally happens to most of the pregnant women. Until now, there are no safe medications yet to stop this while there are some who believes that there are herbal products to cure or prevent this from happening. Though this sounds organic and natural, still, it is not advisable to depend on herbal plants because there some contents that can affect the chemicals in the body.

Fortunately, science and technology has advanced to a point where they were able to design a very safe ad effective wristband that pregnant women can wear to cure or prevent morning sickness nausea without having to worry about their baby and their health as well.

This pregnancy nausea remedy is offered by BioBands who became experts with this kind of treatment. The main purpose of the wristbands is to provide pressure in the right points or location in your body that will help block the transmission of signal of nausea that travels to the brain.

This has proven to be very effective by pregnant women and they said that it can really help them prevent the feeling of nausea even before it occurs. It is being patronized all over the globe because it very safe as it doesn’t use any chemicals or medications that are known to be harmful and risky for pregnant women.

Keep in mind that we are all responsible for whatever happens to our body so it is better to be prudent with all our actions first before we try to ruin everything.

Traces

I gave birth more than two years ago but the traces of that pregnancy remains. I still have stretch marks and haven’t lost weight. Summer is approaching again and I know I need to lose weight and find ways in reducing stretch marks in case we went out swimming. We don’t have plans yet but it’s still good to be prepared.

I'm Still Here

Last Saturday, we went to my OB for my check up and she told me that I’m 2cm dilated already and that if I want to give birth yesterday, I must drink Castor Oil to trigger contractions since it will make me poop. I did not buy it yet last Saturday and just continued walking as one option. But last night, I took castor oil hoping to give birth today. So while waiting for more frequent and stronger contractions, I decided to go online now and finish my task and write something about online trading. Hope I’ll give birth today or if not tomorrow so that I’ll be home before Saturday for Lance’s 2nd birthday. Please pray for a safe delivery for me. Thanks! :)

Baby Needs

When we learned that we were pregnant, Paul and I, well mostly just me, started thinking of the things to buy for our baby. And I got more excited when we learned that we’re having a girl. I’ve thought of the basic things that a baby need like crib, strollers, feeding bottles, etc. Well we won’t be buying a crib anymore since the one Lance used before is still in good condition. I’m still thinking if we will buy a new stroller since the one we have now can be used for babies 3 months and above. I was referred to a site that gives buyers a guide when buying strollers. The site even talks about different stroller styles like lightweight and umbrella strollers (which we have now), full featured, travel systems, tandem strollers, jogging strollers, all terrain strollers and carriage strollers. I like the full featured stroller since it is has several features that are good especially for newborns. The site is really nice since it has prices for each type and for the different stores that offers it. Well we haven’t decided yet if we’ll buy one. We’ll see. :)

So far, I think we have everything prepared and are just waiting for the coming of baby Hannah. I bought clothes already, blankets, cloth diapers, etc. I also had my check up this morning and the OB said my cervix is still closed but she already gave me an admission slip in case I go into labor. Please pray for my health that I may have a safe and normal delivery. Pray for baby Hannah too. Thanks! :)

More on my Pregnancy

I look at my tummy in front of the mirror everyday when I prepare for work. I just enjoy seeing our baby Hannah especially when she moves to show me that she’s doing well. But when I look in the mirror, I can’t help but notice my stretch marks from my pregnancy with Lance. I still have some of those marks but I’m thankful now that with my 2nd pregnancy, I don’t have that obvious stretch marks that requires me to apply lotion or worse an acne treatment cream. I just hope that the existing stretch marks that I have now will lighten so that I can still wear a 2-pc swim suit after giving birth. That is, if I go back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Good luck to me! :)

Pregnancy Talk

I’m on my 33rd week already and people at home are starting to prepare for next month when I give birth. Lance’s nanny asked me to prepare my hospital bag so that if in case I give birth anytime soon, we’ll just pick it up and go. I already have my robe, pajamas and toiletries. I also plan to bring breast pads and right now I’m choosing between disposable diapers and maternity napkins. Which do you think is better? Anyway, I think that’s all I need. I’ll prepare them tomorrow and then next to prepare is the baby bag and I’m good to go. :)

Things to do tomorrow

Paul and I are both on leave tomorrow for we need to do a lot of things. Let's do bullet points shall we:

  1. Go to in my womb for my 4D re-scan. I hope this time our baby Hannah won't be shy anymore and will show her face.
  2. If we're successful with the first try for re-scan, we'll go to the baby store in bel-air to check what they have there. If unsuccessful, we'll just go to the nearby malls and will come back for re-scan.
  3. We're also planning to watch a movie since it's been so long since we last saw a movie at the theater.
  4. Buy some diet supplements for Paul. :)
  5. Look for toys for Lance. Look for bikes too.
  6. Buy some baby stuff for Hannah.
That's all I can think of for now. I'll ask Paul later if I miss anything. We just hope that we'll be successful with our re-scan since it's the main reason why we're on leave. Wish us luck! :)

Baby Talk

In just a couple of months, Baby #2 will be here. For sure she'll be getting a lot of hand-me-downs from Lance and her older cousins. But we'll be getting her some new stuff as well. There's the Bugaboo stroller that I saw that was real cool. It already comes with a bassinet and a seat. It also has a lot of options like car seat adapter, sunshades, canopy, and the tailored fabrics so you can change the seat inlays as you wish. Now if only it was inexpensive.

Update on our health

I noticed I haven’t talked about us for the past few days here in our blog so let me just give you an update on our health.

Paul – is gaining weight. Hehe! I thought he’ll lose weight from everyday travel to Laguna and back here in Marikina. But looks like I’m wrong. :) Maybe because he eats dinner upon arriving home so that’s around 9:30 already and will sleep around 11pm. Di masyadong natunawan. Hehe! But I heard him tell our yaya not to prepare dinner anymore from this day on because he plans to lose weight. I wish him luck! Hehe!

Me – I’m doing ok. I just suffer from colds everyday. As in everyday! Kakainis! But other than that I’m doing great. I weigh 133lbs now at 26 weeks and 4 days. I passed my OGCT so I’m free to eat chocolate (yippee!) and other sweets. Hehe! I was 140lbs when I gave birth to Lance and I hope I’ll weigh the same if not lower than that. Wish me luck! With the way I eat now, mukhang lalagpas ako ng 140lbs. waahhh!!!

Lance – often has cough. Feeling ko because of the weather. Thank God naman di pa siya nagka-asthma ulit. Though there was one time na medyo nahihirapan na siya mag breathe, I just gave him meds before leaving for work and gave yaya instructions and when I got home ok na siya ult. There was also one time na I thought he has diarrhea. Kasi several days he poops mga 3 times tapos yung last was mga 5 times. Pero he’s ok naman. Hindi yung parang nanghihina or something. When we went to his pedia for his immunization, the doctor said he’s just removing toxic from his body kaya no need to worry, lalo na in his case na he doesn’t mind naman kahit na how many times mag poop in a day. Lance now weighs 14.3kgs. Bigat pa din hehe! I need to schedule lang his nex visit to the pedia-dentist. Bad ko, I don’t brush his teeth everyday eh. :(

Baby girl – is very comfortable inside mommy’s tummy. Hehe! Pero last week, I got scared kasi parang ilang days na feeling ko she’s not moving so I texted my OB. She advised me to visit her para ma-check but I was busy so I was not able to go. My officemates are starting to panic na when I told them that pero ako naman di pa masyado because I don’t feel any pain pero syempre ayoko lang pa-obvious that I was scared too. Tapos the day I decided to go to the OB she moved na so ok na ulit. Feeling ko lang she got tired because last week I was always out on field. But I still visited my OB last sat since that’s my schedule talaga. My OB naman told me her heartbeat is ok and the size is ok too. She even moved when my OB was trying to hear her heartbeat. We also heard her heartbeat and syempre si Paul tuwang-tuwa. I’ll have my check up again next month and by then my OB will give us slip na for 4D ultrasound. We’ll see na kung sino kamukha ni baby. Hehe!

Ayan this is quite long na! We thank God that all of us are healthy and we pray na sana laging ganon. I hope you enjoyed reading. :)

It's A Girl!!!

Yup we’re having a girl!!! We’re really hoping for a girl for our second baby since we have Lance na and God granted our prayers. I had my ultrasound last Saturday and our baby was very cooperative and showed her genitals.
Sayang lang because I was alone during the ultrasound. Paul hasn’t come back yet from Naga so it was just me who went to the hospital. The sonologist first showed the parts of the body and all were ok. The body parts are all well-developed and the heart rate is at 146bpm. The baby at that time was in cephalic position. When the doctor tried to get the gender, he did not have a hard time because he saw it right away. The doctor was sure and showed and explained it to me. Although I did not see it clearly or I guess I just can’t picture it as he was describing it. But he was so sure na so I believe him hehe! I’ll just show the results of the ultrasound to my OB on my check up next week.
I also had my OGCT last Sat and I’m a little over the normal range. The result must be between 3.05-6.38 and I got 6.4. The medical technologist said that it’s still ok for pregnant women but I’ll just ask my OB if I need to do something about it.
Paul arrived home lunch time ng Saturday and I told him of the results and syempre he’s so happy too.
We’re so thankful that our baby is doing ok and additional blessing na baby girl siya. We’ll just continue praying that the entire pregnancy up to the delivery will be fine and that our baby will be normal and healthy.
Below is a scanned pic of my ultrasound showing the baby’s genitals, try to picture it na lang. :)

Baby Talk #2

I’ve mentioned in one of my previous post that we’re looking for new baby stuff like clothes and shoes. But we’re also on the search for a new crib. Paul bought a crib in the US before but we sold it since my sis-in-law gave us a crib that’s barely used. And Lance has been using it since birth and even until now so we’re thinking of buying an Emily crib when the new baby arrives. Maybe we should start checking the sites again so that we’ll have a design in mind when that time comes.

Baby Talk

Now that we’re expecting, we’re again excited to buy new baby stuff. We’re hoping and praying that baby #2 will be a girl so that we’ll have one boy and one girl in the family. And if we’ll be blessed with a girl, we’ll be buying new stuff like baby clothes and shoes since what we have here are all for boys. But if we’ll be given a boy, that will be all right. A baby is always a blessing to the family. :)

1st Ultrasound for Baby #2

I had my check up with my OB last Saturday and she advised me to have the trans-v ultrasound the following week. She also gave me medicines/vitamins to take and told me to visit her again after the ultrasound so that she can check the result.

So last Wednesday, I had my trans-v at th
e Medical City in Marikina since it's just walking distance from where we live. And that little image you can see at the pic is our baby #2. It's really such a joy! Lalo na when we saw his heartbeat and the sonologist told us that our baby is doing ok. Tapos pa, what's even better is that Paul was with me during the ultrasound. During Lance's time kasi, Paul was still in Taiwan, so most of the time, I'm alone whenever I visit the OB or whenever I', schedule for an ultrasound. Pero this time, he's with me na kaya ang saya!

Tapos pa, when we saw baby #2's due date, it's the same as Lance's due date. Hehe! Galing no! Although I gave birth to Lance earlier than the date since I was induced. Our OB nga was asking me if I want to give birth on the same day as Lance's birthday. Parang ayoko although I haven't asked Paul about it pa. Bahala na. :)

Btw, the sonologist saw something pa, parang blood clot so she told me to show it too to our OB. Please pray na whatever it is, sana it won't harm me and our baby. Thanks! :)

Baby # 2!!!

Yup, we’re expecting a baby!!! This is truly an unexpected gift. Paul and I talked before that we will have baby # 2 by next year but I found out last week that I’m pregnant. At first, we got nervous when we found out because we planned nga na next year pa sana. We’re not sure if we’re ready for another baby, but since it’s there na, we welcome it with open arms and we’re very thankful for this blessing. We hope and pray that I’ll have a safe pregnancy. Magiging Kuya na si Lance. :)

I'm Back!

I’m again here in the office. Was supposed to be on training this week but unfortunately, it was moved to next week and I might not be able to attend anymore. I’ll just arrange a session with the facilitator to make up for what I’ll miss coz next week, I want to give birth na! Kaya this week, back to work here in the office.

Anyway, last Saturday I visited my OB again for my regular check up. Don’t know if it’s good or bad but when she IEd me, she told me na medyo malalim pa daw so parang malayo pa si baby and closed pa yung cervix. She also asked me to walk na palagi if I want to give birth next week. Paul is due to arrive on Sat and we really hope that I’ll give birth the following week so that he can spend more time with our baby. I also had my ultrasound and the result said that my EDD is on Oct. 9 whereas before it was Oct. 4 so I asked my OB again if it’s ok. She said naman that my placenta is in Grade 3 already meaning it’s full term na din kaya pwede na talaga ko manganak. Thank God! We’re worried din kasi na baka if we push for next week, magkaron ng complications si baby kasi mamaya ayaw pa niya lumabas. So hopefully everything will turn out ok. Side kwento pa pala, kakatuwa nung sa ultrasound kasi kitang-kita genitals ni baby. Told Paul nga na super confirmed na boy nga si baby kasi nakita ko eh, hehehe! Tapos I also saw him sucking his thumb. Kakatuwa talaga! Hehe!

Yun lang! Please continue praying for me and our baby and for Paul’s safe flight on Saturday! Thanks! :)

Mid-week Update

I’ve been on leave since Monday and I dropped by the office today to check on some stuff. My officemate told me that our training which is scheduled next week was moved to end of September or first week of October which means, I don’t think I’ll be able to attend. Hayyyy!!!! I need to discuss this with my OB first so that we’ll know what to do coz if I’ll be attending the training, baka doon ako abutin! Ngii!!!

Last Saturday, I had my check up again and sabi naman OB ko normal pa din lahat, thank God. IE din niya ko and closed pa naman daw cervix. Ayaw din niya masyado idiin kasi baka mag-trigger ng opening eh ayoko pa manganak dahil sa 23 pa uwi ni Paul. Excited na kami!! Next Saturday, I’ll go there again and I’m scheduled for another ultrasound.

Ang sarap magpahinga sa bahay… ang hirap lang kasi sobrang mainit! As in sobra!!! Hehe!

Now I’m here sa office kasi galing ako gateway. Dumaan na din ako to discuss my concern sa training sa boss ko tsaka para makapag internet na din. Hehe! Bad trip eh, wala pa din kami internet sa bahay! Haayy…. I went to gateway kanina kasi nag-member ako sa blow up babies and I had my picture taken today. Hehe! Maternity portrait!!! Arte! Sarap magpa-picture! Ang mahal nga lang!!! I’ll post my pic next week pag na pick-up ko na siya.

Below pala are some pics when I went out with my High School friends mga 3 weeks ago. Tagal na! hehe! Thanks Leslie for the pictures and thanks Siena for the food! Sarap!!! Till then…

Thanks Mama and Daddy

My parents “box” arrived last night and they sent me these:

P1030449

P1030450

Dami ko na feeding bottles (they sent earlier 2 boxes of starter set, tapos Paul bought din microwavable sterilizer that has 4 9oz bottles, and then eto pa! hehe!) Tapos sa box, they also gave me clothes, shoes and liquid soap for our baby. I do hope I’ll have plenty of breast milk to feed our baby (para aside sa healthy na, economical pa!) Thanks again mama and daddy! You’re the best! Luv you!!!

Update on my Check-up

I went to Medical City again for my check up last Saturday. There was no one to accompany me so I drove to the hospital by myself. Some people say it’s not safe for me to drive anymore but others naman said it’s ok. Good thing my sister’s car is automatic so it’s easier to drive and there’s no traffic last Saturday morning kaya mabilis din lang yung byahe. I left the house at 10:30 and was home na by 12:30, bilis no!

Anyway, here’s what happened on my check-up. I’ll be on my 36th week tomorrow. So far everything’s normal (and I hope it will be until I give birth), and I have no problems naman. My OB then checked our baby’s heartbeat and measured the length (length nga ba measure niya? Hehe!) She told me na naka-position na si baby pointing to where my baby’s head is pati na din other parts ng body niya. She also told me why the left side of my tummy is bigger than my right. Mas andon kasi si baby eh and yung sometimes na malaking part eh yung butt niya and yung mga tumutusok-tusok sa right side of my tummy are his elbows. Sometimes it aches pag nag stretch si baby, parang mababali yung ribs ko tsaka yung skin ko parang mapupunit. Hehehe! But it’s an experience na sobrang indescribable. Tapos, I told my OB also na I get tired easily and hirap na maglakad coz of the baby’s weight. I also told her my fear na baka matagtag ako and give birth earlier which I’m hoping na won’t happen. As a result, she advised me to rest whole week next week (my 37th week) para I can attend my training the following week (my 38th week). That was what Paul and I agreed also kaya ok talaga yung advice ni Doc. So that’s what I’m going to do. As of today, I’m at work pa but next week I’ll be on leave then I’ll go to my training the following week. I asked my OB also if Sept. 23 is ok for Paul to come home and she told me that the date is just right. So ilang days na lang magkikita na kami ulit ng asawa ko and after a few days din, magkikita na kami ng baby namin. After the check up, I went home na agad and rested.

Yesterday, I drafted the things I need to finish before I go on leave. Para din when I ask permission from my boss, may action plan na ako. What I need to do now is meet with Jacq (my colleague) to tell her what we need to accomplish before the year ends. Because after this week, December na ko babalik sa work! Woohoo!!! :)

The Week That Was

I haven’t been blogging for the past few days. I’m quite busy with work especially now that I’m nearing my due date. Parang too many things to do and yet too little time. Pero to think na I know naman na dadating at dadating yung due date ko pero di ko ginawa yung mga dapat kong gawin. Hehehe! Tapos now, may mga additional projects to do pa, kaya ayan, sabay-sabay na at doble-doble. Haaayy!!!! I wish I can finish them all before I go on maternity leave.

I’ve been praying to God and talking to our baby na huwag muna siya lumabas. Hehehe! I still have a training on sept 18-22 and that’s my 38th week already. Whenever I talk to some people about giving birth, kinakabahan ako. Not with the act of giving birth but with the timing. Some of them gave birth on their 37th or 38th week na sana won’t happen to me. Our President approached me and my teammate and told us that we should make sure that we finish the training and the project as well. Ngii!!! If only I can tell him, “eh sir, what if I give birth?” hehehe! Tomorrow is my check up again. I’ll ask my OB how we’re doing and if it’s still possible not to give birth early. Tipong what should I do to prevent from giving birth on those weeks? Also I need to know when can Paul sched his flight to be with me when I give birth.

Anyway, magkwento na lang ako how the past few days went by. Friday night, I had dinner with my officemates at Wok Inn, Shaw Blvd. One of them resigned a month ago and last Friday lang siya nagpa-despedida. Hehehe! Ang daming food and it’s good to spend time with them again. Medyo matagal na din kasi kami di nakakaalis ng mga officemates ko. Sayang they haven’t sent the pictures yet, will post them next time.

Saturday naman, I went to Glorietta to attend the breastfeeding convention. I learned a lot from the convention and I’m glad I attended. May doctor pa na may pinakitang video nung pina-latch on niya yung new born baby sa mommy. Ang galing!!! Suzie Entrata-Abrera and Daphne OseƱa-Paez were there also to share their experiences. Kaka-inspire sila pati na din yung ibang mga nag share and I wish that I can do the same to our baby when I give birth. Sana nga, sabi naman nila determination and patience lang yan. May lootbags din silang binigay and vouchers na may mga discounts. Aliw talaga!

After that, nag mall lang ako then met with my HS friends at 6pm sa Superbowl. Puro Chinese restaurants kinainan ko lately. Hehehe! One of our friends celebrated her birthday last week and ayun treat niya kami sa Superbowl. Super saya din yung dinner naming coz we haven’t seen each other for quite sometime. Sayang lang I need to go home na agad coz I was not able to bring a car and malayo ang Makati sa Marikina. Eh mga taga-Makati yung mga yon at di nila ko mahahatid sa Marikina dahil baka maligaw sila. Hehehe! I went home na after dinner while they went pa Starbucks. Ok na din kasi don’t want to go home late eh. Ok na sa kin yung nakita ko sila and nakausap. As usual, wala na naman pics. To follow na lang ulit, hehehe!

Dito naman sa office, like what I said earlier, I’m quite busy with my work and with the new projects that I need to accomplish. Sana lang, I’ll be able to finish those before my due date. Wish me luck and pray for me and our baby. Happy weekend everyone! :)
