Morning Rant
Disappointed with Red Ribbon
So Tuesday came and I was so surprised when I checked on the cake and saw that instead of Lance, the name Joshua was written on the cake! See the picture below:
Deafening!
And very irritating! Our house is right across the covered court in the village. I often find it a disadvantage for most nights, the covered court is used by anybody who made a reservation. I really won’t mind them using the court but I do hope they consider the noise they make. Like now, my kids are asleep already but since there’s a group practicing a dance, they can’t sleep well for the music at the court can be heard here in our room. Now, I have to put them back to sleep and I am trying to finish some tasks that are due in an hour! There are times that there’s a basketball game in the court that lasts until 12 midnight! Imagine that! I don’t know if there’s a policy on using the covered court but I do hope that our barangay chairman will take into consideration the houses beside the court because the noise is really unbearable! I plan to ask about it as soon as I have the time, but for now we have no choice but to suffer from their noise. Hmp!
Oh No
I don’t know if I blogged about it before that my staff was “borrowed” by our President to act as his executive assistant while his assistant is on maternity leave. And of course I have to oblige despite the projects lined up that we’re supposed to do. But the bad news is, it’s been almost a month since his secretary returned from her maternity leave but my staff is still reporting to the main office. I’m worried now that he may not return her to me as my staff. What keeps me more worried is that, if that happens my staff might resign since that’s not what she was hired to do. She sometimes complains that she doesn’t learn anymore with what she’s doing there. And did I mention that I have tons of work to do that are all way behind target since my staff was supposed to do it. Haayyy… I do hope our President knows what he’s doing.
It's So Hot!
That’s what you’ll often hear Lance saying. It is indeed hot here in our part of the world that if only electricity is cheap, I’ll turn on our a/c all day so that my kids won’t have to suffer. Even at work, our a/c can’t handle the heat anymore that just recently, a few ceiling fans were installed on the corners of the rooms. I really hope summer season ends soon for I don’t know how long we candle handle the heat anymore.
Rant
I have so many rants this week. Yesterday I was ranting about work and this morning, I was ranting about the vacant lot beside our house. We’ve been complaining that there are so many mosquitoes in our house lately. My yayas said that it’s because of the vacant lot beside our house. There are so many trees and plants that it’s as if you’re in a jungle (I hope there’s no snake there). Some branches of the trees even cross our fence na. We don’t know who the owner of the lot so we asked our neighbor if they know who the owner is. One of the neighbors said that the caretaker is on the other street so I went there this morning. The lady asked what our concern is so I explained it to her and after that she said that they don’t have the contact number anymore since it got washed out by Ondoy. When she said that, I asked her in what way can we get in touch with the owner because she really needs to do something with the lot. Then I told her that if not, I have no choice but to report it to the proper authorities (maybe the barangay) and maybe they’ll help me with my concern. She then said that she has a friend who lives within the village who knows the owner too and she’ll ask her for the number. I told her I’ll get back to her today or tomorrow for the number. After that I said goodbye and left.
