In our house, we try to expose the kids to
sports so they’ll have an interest on it and won’t be using the gadgets too
much. Thankfully, my son got encouraged
and is into basketball now after watching the Ateneo game live and also after
watching San Mig Coffee vs Rain or Shine during the finals. Now, we are watching the finals of the
volleyball game between La Salle and Ateneo and of course we are cheering for
the Lady Eagles. My daughter now is
imitating how the players hit the ball and said she wants to learn how to play
volleyball too. I told her she’ll learn
when she gets a little older. Anyway,
game 3 is set on Wednesday and I hope the Lady Eagles can still fight back and
win this one to stretch the game further. Good luck!

Christmas Gift
I’m trying to make a Christmas list now so that by the time I’ll have money; I know what to buy for my godchildren and for my friends and my family. One of my godson is a teenager and I’m thinking of giving him a G-shock watch. I’ve been having a hard time looking for gifts for teenagers because I don’t know what they want anymore. I hope my budget will fit the price of the watch so we’ll see.
Musicians
One of my frustrations is to become a musician. I can play the keyboards but I can’t sing well, oh and I can’t play the keyboards well too, I just know how hehe! Anyway, I really pray that my kids will learn to love music and play at least one instrument. Even the schlagwerk unique hand drums is ok for me. At least it’s one of a kind and I’m sure it’s really cool. But just in case they won’t like it, I’m hoping that my daughter will learn how to play the guitar or the piano and my son the guitar or the drums. They are both showing their interest already and I’m just trying to get funds to send them to a music school. Wish me luck! :)
Kids' Interests
As mentioned in my previous post, we attended a party yesterday and took home lots of prizes. One of them is this small drum set which my daughter loves to play now. She’s been telling me that she wanted to learn how to play the drums ever since she got a chance to use/play a real drum set. One was during our family Christmas party in Batangas and just recently at Joaqui’s 7th birthday party. I know my daughter is more inclined into arts and music while my son is into sports.
When we were at the mall last Saturday, we passed by the area where they sell music instruments. Hannah immediately went there and tried playing the keyboards. She also saw Selmer Clarinets and asked me how it works. She also tried to strum the guitar but got frustrated when it doesn’t make a sound being an electric guitar.
Anyway, I’m really glad my kids are showing interests in something else not just in playing gadgets. I really like them to learn to play at least 1 instrument and also to learn how to swim and have interest in other sports, like basketball and volleyball. Both are showing it now and I will support them as long as I can. :)
Chelsea's 8th Birthday!
The daughter of my sister’s friend celebrated her 8th
birthday last week. At first, my sister was planning to take Hannah only
to the party while Paul, Lance and I are going to Batangas to take my mom there
since she wants to spend Holy Week in the province. That didn’t push thru
because Paul had to work and so Lance and I joined in the party.
We’re glad we joined the party because as usual we had fun. It was
good to see old faces again since they have been my sister’s friends since
grade school and it was good to see how their friendship had grown. It
made me miss my friends though.:(
Anyway, thanks again Irene for inviting us. My kids had a really
great time and it was nice to see you again. Happy birthday again to
Chelsea!:)
Trip to Batangas
Last Saturday, my
sister, my mom, the kids and I all went to Batangas because my mom wants to
spend Holy Week there with my dad. Paul
cannot go with us that day because he needs to go to work. Anyway, it was a fun
trip as there is no traffic and the kids enjoyed staying there even just for a
little while. We even went to what the
kids call the mini zoo where there are geese, dogs, birds, cats, and chickens
owned by my aunt. My dad loves to go to
there too and take care of these animals and at the same time look after his
newly planted mahogany trees. J
I really love
staying in the province; too bad we need to go back home after lunch. Hannah said that she will go with us again if
we go back there. I guess she really enjoyed it! :)
Big TV
That’s what my kids call our new tv. They’ve been used to the conventional CRT
type TV that when this was delivered they were so happy and called it the big
TV. Funny thing though is that it is
still in our bedroom since we haven’t bought a tv stand for it. We tried to look for a stand that we like at
a nearby mal but we haven’t found anything yet.
They have plenty of standsandmounts
dvd cabinets, but they don’t have the tv stand that we are looking
for and most importantly the one that fits our budget hehe. Hopefully before the Holy Week comes, we will
finally be able to buy a tv stand. :)
Hectic Schedule
This weekend will be a busy weekend for our
family. Both kids will have school
activities on Saturday at the same time and worse we don’t know yet if Paul
will be available. Hannah has a school
play while it will be Lance’s last day in basketball clinic. They will be playing against another team in
Ateneo then there will be kids from Xavier and La Salle who they will play
against with too. I will be going to
Hannah’s play and Paul will go to Lance’s basketball if he won’t have
work. If he really can’t make it, my
sister said that she will go to Lance’s basketball instead of going to Hannah’s
school play. We’ll see.
