Be Still

There are lots of things that have been going on in my mind that makes me worry a lot.  These concern my family and our future.  But God comforts me in His own way and in unexpected places.  I felt Him talking to me when I attended a wake last week.  It was at the wake of my mom’s cousin that Paul and I went to.  Before we left the family had a service where they sang songs and a pastor talked for a few minutes.  One song caught my attention, I really don’t know the song nor the title but the lyrics touched my heart, I even took a picture of it to make sure I’ll remember.
The last two lines in the refrain really touched me:

I will be still
Know You are God

I felt God telling me not to worry for He will take care of me and my family.  That He knows my needs and He will never forsake me.  I just need to pray and put my trust in Him and He will always be there.  Thank you Lord!

Rush Hour Commute

Commuting home via public transport can be a hassle especially during rush hour. I remember a time when we went to meet a friend of ours for dinner and we had to take the MRT to our meeting place. Getting the tickets was pretty much uneventful but when it came to boarding the train, now that was tough. Everyone was jostling for position even before the train completely stopped and the doors opened, making it even more dangerous as someone might be accidentally pushed to the tracks in front of the incoming train. The stations should put sturdy stanchions on the boarding areas so boarding and alighting would be organized but most importantly for the safety and security of the passengers.

Leave Today

Paul and I took a day off today to go to Ateneo to check Lance’s schedule.  Thankfully he belongs in the morning class which was what we really wanted.  After checking his schedule, we went to the coop to buy him some uniforms then went to the gym to get car stickers.  After that we went to SM Marikina to buy screen protector for the iPod and bought him the kids lunch boxes and a pack of sando for Lance.  From SM, we went home for lunch then went out again house hunting.  I blogged before that we are looking for a house where we can call our own.  Will blog about it next time.  It took us all afternoon looking for house and we found something we like. It was really a tiring day but well spent.  Hopefully we will be able to buy a house soon. :)

Gator

During one of our “spring cleaning” sessions, I literally stumbled upon my son’s guitar. Good thing it didn’t get a crack. Which reminds me to get a gator case for that one. An old friend of mine who is very much into music swears by these gator cases. He’s told me a number of stories where these cases saved his long and illustrious music career.

Technology

I just read an article last night of emerging technologies in the automotive industry. Among them are standard rear-facing cameras and centrally-located airbags. It was a very interesting read as it explains the advantages of several seemingly simple yet important technologies we take for granted such as Airtex in tank fuel pump systems. Knowing how each individual system works really opens your mind on how the technology works.

New House

Paul and I should start our house hunting soon because so we can think things through on what we should do next.  Either we buy a new house or rent in an apartment again until we find a house that we really like.  It’s really a tough decision and one that we were not able to prepare.  We were both expecting that the house we live in will be sold to us but unfortunately the owner decided to sell it to his nephew.  We are given one year to find a house and I do hope we can start finding soon so we can decide and prepare for it.

What We Need

My helpers always make sure that our floor is clean and shiny that sometimes I pity them when we come from outside with dirty shoes and we just go inside the house and make the floor all muddy and dirty again.  But that is also because we don’t have any doormats near our door.  I’ve been checking some online and saw cape cod doormats which I think is what we really need.  I hope I’ll be able to buy next time so that when we have dirty shoes, the floor won’t be as dirty as before. :)
