Liezel's Birthday Bash

A batch mate who I have been friends with just last year celebrated her birthday last May.  And since our schedules normally have conflicts, it was only last Friday that she was able to treat us.  We went to Music 21 where she invited some of our batch mates.
It was really fun and all of us had a great time.  I was also glad that I became friends with her.  We never talked when we were in high school and I’m just glad that we had the chance to get to know each other.  Anyway, thanks again Liezel and happy happy birthday!  I’m glad we became friends! :)

Welcome Home

My parents have finally arrived after several months abroad. They attended my cousin’s wedding last April in which my dad was a principal sponsor. The trip home was uneventful, albeit long as they had several connecting flights on their way home. Luckily they both were wearing compression socks to prevent venous disorders from the long periods of inactivity while in flight. The important thing is that they have arrived safely.

Going Online Again

It’s been so long since I had the chance to be online all the time when I’m at work.  As mentioned before, when I transferred to this new office, my internet access is limited plus I really don’t have much time to browse or chat.  My phone is not capable of accessing internet (yes it’s very low tech that’s why I only go online when I get home).

Thankfully, one of my friends at work gave me access to the wifi that I am now online all the time.  I’ve missed my online friends and it really feels good that I get to talk to them again.  And I also get to chat with my previous colleagues and talking how we’re doing.  :)

I just hope the office will not audit who has access because for sure I’ll be one of those who will be caught!  Wish me luck! :)

In A Log Cabin

House hunting still on-going. If we’re going to have a new house built, it would be best if we can set a theme going, like maybe modern art deco, Mediterranean-style, or Spanish-inspired. I have seen some houses that have an outdoorsy-feel to its atmosphere, like having rustic tables and furniture. It feels like you’re in a log cabin in the middle of the forest.

Flood

Last week, there was strong rain that brought about flood in almost the entire metro manila.  Our street was not spared that I was not able to go home right away due to the flood.  I was on my home when the rain started pouring and even before I got to the house, the street was flooded already.  I decided to stop at the chapel near our house for I think the flood will go into the car already.  I was just inside hoping and praying that the rain will stop.  Thankfully, it did and flood started to subside.  When it was bearable to pass through, I went home.  It was one tough and scary day, thank God, He spared the car from another encounter with deep flood. :)

Artsy

Our little is princess is set to start school this week, and she is pretty excited about it too. Since she’s attending the same pre-school as our eldest, we already have an idea of what’s in store. Also, as she leans a bit towards arts, we’re sure we need to get stock up on some stuff like artist paint and other arts supplies.

Parents' Orientation

Last Thursday, Paul and I attended the parent’s orientation in Ateneo.  It started at the theatre for the first part where the school president, other directors and faculty staff had their own talks about the school, the discipline, curriculum, etc.  The second part was held inside the classroom where parents were able to meet their sons’ teacher.  We were also given an orientation kit where some other policies and requirements were discussed.  It was a fruitful half day spent in school and we really hope that Lance will be able to enjoy and learn a lot in school. :)
