Lance turned 9

Today Lance turned 9 months. He’s growing fast and developing accordingly. I just hope he continues to be like that. Won’t be telling you much of what he’s been doing but I’ll leave you with some pictures. Enjoy!

Vehicle Accessories

I have a friend who’s fond of accessorizing his vehicles. All his cars have wings and spoilers, tinted windows, big mufflers, bumper guards, etc. He’s the one I go to whenever I have questions about cars and he always have answers to my questions.

And now, he’s into trucks. He’s thinking of getting
truck accessories for his new truck. I may find his hobby expensive but whenever I see his cars, I really love how it looks and how it enhances the parts of the car. So now I’m thinking, I might try it with our car too. I better start saving money! :)

Innovative Tutors

I once again visited Score’s website and found really good service from them. Score is a learning center that helps children ages 4-14 to make significant academic progress while in school.

What I like most from Score are their belief in education and how it affects the child. The teachers who they call Innovative Tutor are really hands-on to teaching so what more can you ask for? 

Work

I’m really getting bored here at work. I know I have a lot of things to do but I don’t know what’s happening to me. Sometimes, I don’t get to work on anything at all even if I’m in the office. I know it’s wrong but sometimes I just can’t help it. Haayy… I do hope I’ll have the motivation to work again the way I used to. Wish me luck!

Spain

I haven’t been to Europe but if given the chance, one of the countries in Europe that I would like to visit is Spain. Of course it’s not on top of my list since that would be France but I still would like to visit Spain too. One of the reasons is that the Philippines being colonized by Spain years back, I would like to know more of the people and explore their country.

I know there are a lot of places to see in Spain. I’ve also been checking places to stay and found that there are cheap hotels that have good accommodations. And as I was browsing places to see in Barcelona, I saw that the interesting places to visit are Park Guell, Sagrada Familia, Passeig de Gracia, Gothic Town and the Montjuic Mountain. And when I get tired, I can check in at Cheap Hotels in Barcelona.

Of course, visiting Spain won’t be complete if you won’t be going to Madrid. Our national hero spent years there so I would like to visit it too. I would like to see their museums and basilicas and everything there is to see. And at the end of the day stay and rest at the hotels in Madrid.

Fitness and Dieting

I gained weight when I got pregnant and I believe it’s normal and necessary since you’re eating for two people. But I gave birth almost 9 months ago and what upsets and disturbs me is that I haven’t gone back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Others were able to do it after 3 months of giving birth. Some say because they breastfeed their babies. Unfortunately for me, I was able to breastfeed my baby for just a few weeks.

Anyway, I’m really trying to figure out how to lose weight and how to stay fit. I lost some already but I still need to lose at least 10-15lbs to get back to my normal weight. Also, I still don’t fit in my clothes and I can’t wear my maternity clothes since I’m not pregnant anymore. Sigh! Before I got married, I go to the gym to stay fit but I stopped when I got pregnant and I haven’t gone back since then.

What I do now is I monitor what I eat and I attend taebo and aerobics class here in the office at least twice a week. Also, I joined an online fitness pal to help me monitor my food intake and my exercises. They ask you your current weight and your desired weight, and you log there your food intake and exercises. They even have a calorie counter to tell you how much calorie to take and how much to burn. It helps a lot so that you’ll know what to eat and at the same time to monitor your progress.

I just joined today and I do hope I’ll be able to achieve my desired weight. Wish me luck guys!

Going Digital

A lot of products now are into digital. There’s scrapbooking (which I don’t do because I don’t know how:( ), there’s film camera before but people these days use digital camera, and now even albums have their own version. These are called digital frames.

Digital picture frame is like having a TV/album that shows your digital pictures. I always want to show our digital pictures to people who visits our house but can’t do so because first, all of our pictures are in our computer thus the hassle of turning it on and so on. Second, developing those pictures and putting them into an album is costly and time consuming. So when I heard about this digital picture frame, I then checked www.digitalframez.com to see how it works. And it’s really simple. Just take pictures, transfer the memory card to the digital picture frame and that’s it. Your pictures are ready for viewing. You may even choose how long each picture will be shown and the transition that you want. And what’s great is that videos taken by the digital camera can also be shown in the digital frame. Amazing huh!

With the digital frame, pictures can be displayed on the walls of the living room, side table of the bedroom or in any area in your home.

How Vain Are You?

I've been tagged by Mhay

You Are 47% Vain
You're a little vain, but more than anything you have a healthy amount of confidence.Thinking the world of yourself is great. Just don't think less of those who aren't as pretty as you!

The result is true. I’m not really on the kikay side. I just followed Mhay and wrote some facts about me.
Here they are:
1. I don’t know how to put on make up, even if it’s just lipstick. When I go to work, I just comb my hair and put on powder and that’s it.
2. I have a lotion in the office in case I was not able to apply them because I’m late for work. Lolz!
3. I don’t put on nail polish and I don’t know how either. I just visit the salon for foot spa and pedicure in case I badly need one.
4. I rarely shop for clothes; I just buy them if I really need to and if it’s on sale. If it’s not, I need to check if it’s a good buy or not before deciding to purchase it.
5. I don’t have that much shoes. I just have the ones I use in the office and some sandals. If I need one, I ask my cousin to buy Charles and Keith for me in Singapore because it’s cheaper there and their sandals looks nice in my not so nice feet. I’m more comfortable wearing slippers/flip flops. But I do have 5 pairs of rubber shoes. Nyahaha!!
6. I have several perfumes and colognes. That’s because my uncle works for a company that offers 50% discount on perfumes and my mom sends me Bath and Body works and Victoria’s Secret Colognes.
7. The last time I visited my derma was before I got married for diamond peel and that was two years ago. Haha! But since I don’t put on make up, I just wash my face with Cetaphil before sleeping.
8. I visit the parlor 2x a year for a hair cut. I don’t follow trends for hairstyles. I just have long, straight hair since I don’t know how to fix it too. If it’s hot, I just tie my hair and that’s it.

As I was writing this, feeling ko mas kikay pa si mhay sa kin pero how come mas mataas percentage ko? Hehehe! Peace Mhay!! Anyways, like what I always say, feeling ko aside sa pagiging mermaid, lalaki ako nung past life. Lolz!

Go tag yourself if you want to test how vain you are. :)

Vacation

Paul and I have been dreaming of going on vacation since he got home. We’re thinking if we’ll go around the Philippines since we haven’t explored it yet or if we’ll go out of the country and see what they have to offer.

Since I am a beach person I would love to see Hawaii for I heard great news about the place. Moreso, there’s Kauai Vacation Packages that has really nice offers for vacation. The Poipu Beach area is known for having a great view of the beach and nice area for snorkeling and other water activities so I might consider booking there. And snorkeling is one of the reasons why I love the beach. Looking at the corals and colorful fishes makes me feel as if I’m on another part of the world.

Not only that, Hawaii beaches are also concerned of the environment. Being familiar on environment, safety and health, I’m also particular if the beaches have ecotourism programs, and good thing they are doing something about it. Their “green hotels” are using natural resources in environmentally-friendly ways. That’s great news right? I hope we can go there to visit the place, avail of their great package and experience the beauty of Hawaii.

Tagaytay Highlands

This is where we spent Father’s Day last weekend. Paul, Lance and I and some of our relatives drove to the Highlands last Sunday for a well deserved out of town trip. We’re glad that the weather was nice when we were there. Even if it’s not cold, at least it’s not raining or it’s not too hot.

We rode the cable car and the funicular and had lunch at the sports center. Lance was so alive and happy. You can see from his eyes that he’s enjoying. He behaved when we’re at the cable car, and was just laughing when we’re at the funicular. That was also the first time he walked on the ground. He just walks lang kasi in his crib. And boy did he enjoy walking. When we carried him na, he keeps on kicking his legs and wants to walk again. Hehe! I hope he’ll learn to walk before he turns 1.

Lance really enjoys going out, may it be at the mall, or anywhere, as long as it’s outside the house. He doesn’t get hungry nor sleepy whenever we’re out. Unlike when he’s at home, he often asks for milk or wants to be fed every hour. Maybe because he likes exploring and is curious with everything he sees. I often tell Paul, feeling ko lalaking lakwatsero si Lance. Hehe!

We stayed there till 4pm and drove back to manila. It was one fun day for all of us! Happy Father's Day honey! Thanks for being a great dad to Lance! Happy Father's Day also to my dad and to my FIL. Thank you too! Love you all!

Smorty

I saw a site again that provides an opportunity to get paid to blog. I’ve been blogging when I started with my wedding preparations and even if I’m married for two years, I continue writing my thoughts and activities here in my blog. I enjoy doing it and also because my parents who are out of the country will be updated on our happenings here whenever they read our blog. And of course I’ll be happier if I get paid by doing this. Who won’t be happy with that, right?

Smorty is a service connecting advertisers with bloggers. The process is really simple. Just sign up, wait for the approval and once approved you’re ready to earn money. I just signed up, got approved and saw that there are opportunities already. That fast huh! Wait, did I also mention that signing up is free? Not only that, once post is approved, payment is on a weekly basis. Another way to earn money while blogging! Awesome!

2nd Wedding Anniversary

Yesterday was our 2nd wedding anniversary. Bilis ng panahon! This year is special to us because it’s the first time we celebrated it together. Last year kasi, Paul’s US trip was extended kaya he didn’t make it in time for our anniversary.

We had a simple celebration lang. Had a sumptuous dinner at
Nielsen’s at Manila Pen .We were there at 6:30pm and left late na. We were laughing at ourselves nga because we were the first customer there tapos we were one of the few who left late na. We really had a great time. Sarap ng dinner, there are a lot of food to choose from tapos buffet pa. We can hardly stand when we finished eating. :) Thanks honey!

Thank you also for the 2 blissful years of marriage. We may not be together physically during those two years but even if you’re far; you continue to show your love to me, and now to Lance. Looking forward to more fruitful years together. I love you! :)

Proud To Be A Mapuan

My brother and I are both Mapua alumni and proud to be one! He sent me an email and asked me to buy a shirt for him. He said that there’s a new shirt being sold and he wants to have one. So being the obedient sister that I am, I went to Mapua this morning and bought the shirt. Upon seeing it, I decided that I would like to have one too. Here’s a picture of the front and back sides of the shirt:

Cool no! I bought the black shirt for me and my brother.

Upon seeing the school, can’t help but remember the times when I was still in college; the campus, the math lectures, the exams, the famous OTs and all those stuff. I had a wonderful college life. Full of memories to treasure, met real friends and learned a lot. I’m glad I studied in Mapua. :)

Mikaela Clarisse's Baptism

Last Sunday, Paul, Lance and I attended the baptism of Mikaela Clarisse in Alabang. She’s the daughter of my college friend Mike. The baptism is scheduled at 10:30am. And since we’re from Marikina, we arrived at the church at 11:00am and the baptism is finished na. hehe! We left the house at 9:30 since it’s a Sunday, pero ganon pala kalayo yung Alabang sa Marikina that we didn’t make it on time. We just proceeded to the reception at the clubhouse.

There were just 2 of us from college that was able to go to the baptism. Hirap ng magkakalayo na yung house. Before, we used to meet as often as we can. But since we all have our own families na, seldom do we meet na. One reason is that we live far apart from one another and another reason is that we have our own families to attend to. During the baptism, we decided to meet again for dinner, sana soon because I miss hanging out with them. :)

Pirates of the Caribbean

Paul and I watched Pirates of the Caribbean – At Worlds End last night at Gateway. As always, Johnny Depp portrayed his role very well as Capt. Jack Sparrow. The movie was nice but I like the first 2 movies better. In part 3, there are many twists that I got confused na while watching. Hehe! Aside from that, I can’t remember what happened on Dead Man’s Chest that’s why I got more confused. Hehe! Talk about memory loss! Lolz!!!

But I still encourage you to watch this because it’s good, it’s entertaining and even if it runs for three hours, you won’t notice it kaya sulit! It’s worth watching!

Oh btw, they have some scenes after the credits so finish the credits before leaving the theater. :)

And I have heard that you can actually save on online shopping through online coupons. There’s this site called CouponChief.com where you can get discounts or good deals when you shop. As I was checking some stuff for him at office depot , I saw that for every $150 worth of shopping, you get $30 off. Not bad huh! This offer is good until June 30 only so I must inform him right away if he plans to avail this promo.

Thanks to Barney

Lance fell from the bed again last weekend. I was at the other room talking to my sister when it happened. The last time I checked on Lance, he was still asleep. Then my tita went to my sister’s room and called me because she saw Lance on the floor. When I went to the room there he was sitting on the floor and almost under the bed. Then I saw his Barney stuff toy (it was given by my sister as baptismal gift) on the floor too. I think that’s where Lance fell first before landing on the floor that’s why he did not cry. He was just there sitting, not realizing what happened to him. After I picked him up, we were all worried because he might have hurt himself from the fall but he began smiling and kicking once he saw all of us checking on him. So I guess he’s ok. Hehe!

I don’t normally put this huge Barney stuff toy on our bed. One reason is that, I’m not really fond of Barney and another is that, since it’s big, Lance might get scared of it. Lolz!! But thanks to Barney, he “caught” Lance from his fall. :)

Mall Hopping

Since it was holiday yesterday (Independence Day moved to yesterday) and we have nothing to do at home, we (me, paul, lance and ate rose) went mall hopping. We first went to Mega Mall since there are some things for Lance that we need to buy there and we need to go to the appliance center also to ask about the DVD player we bought there a few months back. We were there until 2:30. Decided to leave na because there are a lot of people at the mall and Lance doesn’t want to sleep even if he’s sleepy na.

On our way home, Lance fell asleep at the car so we decided to go to Blue Wave at Marquinton since it’s near our house. Upon reaching marquinton, we can’t find anything special about the place and the mall is kinda hot so we decided to leave again and transfer to another mall so that Lance will continue with his sleep. Don’t want to go home yet because I don’t want to turn on the ac at our house that early. Nagtitipid sa kuryente! Hehe!

We then went to Robinsons Metro East which is also near our place and stayed there till 5:30pm. Good thing we went there too because Paul was able to buy a pair of pants that he was supposed to buy at Mega Mall.

The highlight of our mall hopping yesterday was when Lance pooped at Mega Mall. The nearest rest room available does not have a diaper changing table at the ladies room. They have one at the men’s room so there’s no choice but to have Lance cleaned up by Paul. I just gave him the stuff he needs to clean Lance and he went to the rest room. Ate Rose and I were just standing at the door and looking at them. Paul did a pretty good job but towards the end, Lance was crying na so the janitor at the men’s rest room asked me to come inside to pacify him. The changing table is just right at the door kaya it’s ok to go inside. Paul was almost done then so I just put on Lance’s diaper and left. Hehe! That was really one funny experience! :)

Movies Galore

Paul and I watched the movie Shrek 3 last Monday. At last, I was able to watch a movie again. Hehe! I think the last movie I saw was The Pursuit of Happyness and that was 3 months ago. Argh!!

Shrek was one funny movie, Paul and I were both laughing so hard inside the theater. Shrek, Donkey and all other characters were really funny. What’s good about this movie is that they also have values and not just plain comedy. I like the part when Arthur talked to the people of Far Far Away and also when Fiona and all the other princesses helped one another to fight Prince Charming. If you want to relax and have fun while watching a movie, Shrek is a must-see for you.

After seeing Shrek on Monday, Paul and I, with my sister and cousin watched Oceans 13 last Wednesday. Di naman kami excited, first screening day pa lang we watched na. hehe! Anyway, this is also a must-see. Not only is it a good movie but it also has good looking actors in it. Hehe! I won’t tell you yet why I like this movie because some of you may not have seen it yet. It also is a must-see. ;)

We haven’t seen Pirates of the Carribean yet and we’re hoping to see it this week, Paul also wants to watch Mr. Bean so we might watch it this week also. I’m really glad Paul is here now. I get to watch movies on the big screen and not on DVD only. :)

Jaden's 1st Birthday

Last Saturday, we attended Jaden’s Birthday Party at McDonalds. Jaden is the daughter of my officemate Mhay. This party is special to us because this is the first party we attended as a family. Naks! Hehe!

Jaden was so cute in her dress and was not shy to dance in front of everyone. She even showed me her version of “beautiful eyes”. Lance on the other hand is not in the mood to smile and just wants to be carried lang. Good thing though he did not cry especially when the mascot arrived. Kinda funny lang coz I didn’t know that Mcdo has a new Ronald McDonald mascot. As in mascot na siya and di na yung tao talaga. The mascot is also a soft version of Ronald McDonald. I guess they changed because some children are scared of Ronald because he looks like a clown whereas this new mascot is not really scary. Patawa pa nga yung itsura eh.

The party was short but it was fun. You can see from Jaden that she’s happy and that really enjoyed her party. Even us adults enjoyed it too! Happy birthday Jaden!

Happy and Worried

Paul arrived last Wednesday from Taiwan which made all of us happy. Lance will now have a daddy to take care of him, I will have a husband (at last!! Hehe!) and Lance’s nanny will have an alternate in taking care of Lance and she on the other hand can do other household chores.

Paul will be staying for good until he finds a new job. And that’s what makes us worry. Paul is earning much more than I do. What I earn is just a small percentage of his salary (hehe! Poor me!) What happened in Taiwan is that the Labor office there did not grant him an extension to his work permit even if his contract is until 2010. His work permit is valid only until last week, May 31 to be exact and he found out about it just a week before the 31st. So he has to go and pack his things. The company just gave him a few months salary as separation pay.

Good thing though, some clients (of his previous employer) expressed interest on hiring him and there are friends who knows some companies in need of engineers. So we’re hoping and praying that one of them will get him. We trust in God’s love and mercy and we know that He will not forsake us. For the mean time, while waiting for a job, Paul is enjoying being a stay-at-home-dad.

Something to rant about

How come other people are so insensitive and conceited? This post is really nothing to do with my personal life but I just got really affected and furious about a girl I saw at the mrt.

Last night, I took the MRT going to Guadalupe. If you don’t know yet, a portion of the train is for ladies and elderly only, so I took that train. What made me furious is that when we got to cubao station, there were quite a number of people who rode that train and there’s this girl, wearing a short skirt, having glitters all over her body and sitting as if there’s no one beside her. She just doesn’t move even if the passenger beside her can hardly sit. She moved a little but still not enough for the passenger to sit comfortably.

And you know what else she did? She opened her bag, comb her hair and put on a clip. After that, she opened her bag again, took out her mirror and admired herself. And then again opened her bag and this time, she took out a lotion and applied it on her arms and on her legs. Yup even on her legs! What the @#$@? Go to the washroom girl!

I was seated across her that’s why I saw everything. Haayyy.. why are some people like that? Why can’t some people do stuff on the right place and why are some people don’t have good manners? Sigh…
