Wedding Gift

I’ve mentioned a couple of times that my high school friend will tie the knot. He’ll be getting married next week and all are set already. Paul, Lance and I are part of the entourage and we are all excited for the wedding. I’m so excited for Lance because this will be his first time and I pray that he won’t have tantrums and will walk on the aisle. He still doesn’t have a coat and I plan to buy it this Saturday together with the gift I’m planning to give the couple. I might buy gold coins as my gift for them. It was stated in their invitation that they prefer receiving cash gifts so I think gold coins is perfect! I do hope they will like it. :)

My Ambition

When I was a child, my ambition was to become a lawyer. I really have no idea why I want it but it was my dream when I was growing up. I love to read books that have court discussions and those that need investigations. I was even more particular with stories that have crimes and think of myself as the criminal attorney solving the cases. I spent most nights reading books on different kinds of lawyers, eg. the denver criminal defense lawyer, and the like. I also watch movies or television shows that has court scenes and I was amazed on how these people like the denver criminal lawyers, try to reason out to prove their point and how they can manipulate the words to show that what they are saying is true. But during my junior to senior years in high school, my interest shifted from law to engineering. I realized I love solving math problems and exercise my mind through analytical thinking. That when it was time to look for schools for college, I enrolled on one of the top engineering schools in our country. I enjoy what I am doing now, but I never lost my interest in watching or reading stuff about defense lawyers.

Disappointed

Last Saturday, Paul and I went to my friend's designer for my first fitting.  As mentioned before, I will be part of their entourage and we had our measurements taken a month ago.  Our fitting was scheduled at 5pm but I asked the bride if I can have mine be scheduled in the morning since I can't make it in the afternoon for we will celebrate our wedding anniversary.  The bride asked to move my fitting in the morning and the designer agreed.  And so last Saturday, Paul and I went to Pasig and when we got there, the cutter said my gown is not available.  She said that one of their dressmakers took home my gown to put the beads and she was not able to go to work that morning because no one will take care of her child. And since there's nothing we can do, Paul and I went home.  We just let the bride talk to them for my schedule.

I was really angry and disappointed.  First, their place is far from where we are living and you really have to allot time going there since it's also traffic in that area.  Second, we were supposed to leave our house early because we arranged for an early check in at Pen for our anniversary but we can't do so because of this fitting.  Third, it's not even the owner who talked to me and apologized that my gown is not available.  Even if I'm not the bride, I still am her customer.  I can't help but compare her to Cecilio (my wedding couturier) who's very professional.  He's always there to assist us and there was never a time that we got there and was not able to fit a gown regardless if it's for the bride or the part of the entourage.

Anyhow, last night the bride accompanied me, the groom's mom and sister for fitting.  Finally I was able to fit the gown.  And contrary to what they said last Sat, my gown is still bare.  As in no beads at all!  They even tried to cut some portions of the gown which means it is really not finished yet.  Haayy…so disappointing.  I just hope the finished material will look good as what she promised because it's not cheap ha!  I did not tell the bride my comments anymore because I don't want to add to her stress but if I were to ask if I will recommend this designer, I won't!  She definitely did not impress me.

Favorite Subject

When I was still a student, my favorite subject was Math. I love solving problems and coming up with solutions to arrive with one answer. And one of the math subjects that I like solving is Algebra 1. Even during high school days I prefer solving those kinds of problems compared to Trigonometry. Even some of my classmates ask for my help when ever we have seat works. There was even a time that our instructor scolded us because we were comparing answers. LOL!

And because of my love for math (and also because I failed on the exam for the medical course I plan to take), I ended up taking Engineering. This is also because I was encouraged by my brother to take up this course. Anyhow, since my course is engineering, we have plenty of math subjects such as Trigonometry, Algebra 2, Differential and Integral Calculus, and so on. And just like during high school, some of my classmates are having a hard time arriving at Algebra 2 Answers whenever we have exams. Some seek online help for tutoring and I’m glad there are sites that offer those kinds of services at a cheaper rate. It really is a big help to the students. :)

What to Do with Extra Money?

That’s what my colleague asked me a few days ago. She said if I have extra money, where will I invest it? Their family business is gold jewelry and she said that it’s a profitable business. They make necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc and some of my colleagues order to them. And my engagement ring, partnered with my earrings and also our wedding rings came from them too. Anyhow, she said they plan to buy gold coins as part of their investment too since based from experience, the value of gold does not depreciate. If only I have extra money, I would have invested it in gold too!

Dogs and What We Do For Them

Everybody knows the saying "a dog is a man's best friend," and to a point, that's true. Human/dog relations have progressed a lot more than the relationship between humans and felines. When was the last time a cat ran into a burning building to save its master? When did you read a book about a young boy and a cat having adventures through the rolling hills, and it's only when the cat dies while saving the boy from a grizzly bear that the boy realizes what an integral part of his life this pet was? It doesn't happen. On the hand, we as humans are doing our part: We take in dogs from animal shelters. We take them into our homes and make them part of our families. We bathe them and brush their teeth, and give them shots and buy them medicine. We take the time to know which medicines to buy for them--Sentinel for dogs for heartworms, antibiotics for infections. We buy all sorts of doggy products like sleeping pillows, leashes, chew toys, more chew toys, and bones for special occasions.

The dogs do their part, too. You uphold your end of the this relationship, and in return, your dog goes on adventures through rolling hills with you. He gambols over when you're watching TV, and he curls up next to you. When Aunt Muriel makes her ceviche, he'll be under the table ready to help a guy out. A dog will be the single most loyal life form you ever encounter.

So, step up to the plate, and extend a hand towards canines. Help perpetuate the excellent bond that we share with dogs. Ask not what your dog can do for you, but what you can do for your dog, and it will lead to smiling faces and wagging tails, rolling hills without end.

Workplace Stress Busters

To many, the workplace is among the top sources of stress. Here are tips on how to get through each workday intact.

  • Get adequate breaks during the working day. Stop for a drink or go outside for a walk.
  • Talk with your colleagues, manager, union representatives, friend, or partner about what is causing your stress.
  • Remember the basic building blocks to avoid stress: learn relaxation techniques, exercise, eat well, and get a good night’s sleep.
  • Be optimistic. Believe that the problems causing you stress are solvable and that things will get better.
  • Ask for new tasks if you are stuck on boring, repetitive, or meaningless ones.
  • Connect with your colleagues. Take time to talk to them about their work and yours. You may be able to help each other when workloads are heavy, or give each other sympathy and moral support. Technology is a prime cause of stress. Not every email needs an instant response. Just because you can check your work emails during the weekend doesn’t mean you should. Turn off your mobile phone or don’t answer work calls outside of working hours.

Custom Sticker Printing on a Budget

Businesses can use various avenues to gain the attention of customers: television and radio commercials, social media, billboards, pamphlets, postcards, and custom stickers. One of the most inexpensive ways to reach a wide audience is to employ the skills of a custom sticker printing company to create an image or brand that consumers can easily identify with your business. The following tips will help you choose a design that's in your budget.

Initially, you have to think about how and where your stickers will be posted. Paper stickers are for one-time use and come in several varieties and colors. Glossy, metallic, matte, and neon are just a few of the options that are available. If your sticker is intended to be long-lasting or placed outdoors, go with vinyl, which tends to be a little more expensive but lasts much longer. To make vinyl stickers last even longer, opt for laminated vinyl, which involves applying a thin sheath of clear plastic to the sticker.

Custom stickers can be made in all manner of shapes, from standard shapes like circles, squares, and ovals to intricate, custom shapes known as die cuts. Die cut shapes are cut out of a material by a custom made die; it's similar to cutting cookies with a cutter. Die cut stickers are usually very expensive and are not recommended for mass advertising. It's more prudent to use standard shapes which are less expensive. Print time will also be much faster with standard shapes.

Most printing companies can print in many different colors. Using standard ink colors will save time and money as opposed to using specialized colors. Process color, or four-color, is applied when printing photo-quality stickers. It's best to go with standard colors for your budget's sake. When you visit a custom sticker printing shop, apply these tips to your design and your stickers will be worth the investment.

College Degree

I remember when I was still a senior in my high school days and graduating soon. My parents were asking me what course to take and giving me advises as to which field I should go. I really have no idea yet what I want and if only I can research college degrees at that time, like that of College Degrees Today, I would have done so. Anyhow, I was choosing between the medical or engineering. I did not pass my entrance exam in PT on one of the top universities here so I ended up with engineering, of which I have no regrets taking. I do hope though that the incoming college freshmen now seriously thought about the course they will take because their future will depend on it.

Drive Carefully

Accidents are bound to happen. You have to make all the necessary precautions to prevent it from happening. These are the words I heard my friend saying when he experienced getting into accident. He’s not actually the one at the loss side. He was the one who hit the person. It was just a blessing that the victim, an eight your child didn’t get any serious injuries. What happened was the young boy, ran into his ball and crossed the highway while my friend was driving at 30kph speed. He said that God was really there and controlled that situation. He was not texting while driving (which he usually do), and he was able to hold the break on time. The boy was hit on his side but was able to stand up. It was also ironic that the crowd upon seeing what happened, reprimanded the child instead of my friend. He was really thankful that everything was well enough for him not worry. He would need any denver accident lawyer or the services of denver car accident lawyers to mend the situation. Times like this make me realize how important it is to be insured and protected. And if ever the situation went on differently, important numbers should always be available handy like numbers of your, relatives, hospitals, rescue, police station and your denver personal injury lawyer.

Green Thumb

I just stepped out of the house on my way to work when - from the corner of my eye – something caught my attention. It was the window boxes in our front yard. Our ever helpful ate Rose put some new plants on one particular window box.

I have to hand it to her, she really made it more appealing to the eye – and we didn’t even ask her to do it. It’s one of her hobbies. She’ll sometimes ask friends and relatives if she can have some plants or flowers if she sees something that strikes her fancy. The next day, you’ll just see the new plant in one of the
window plant boxes around the house. My dad had a green thumb too – too bad I didn’t get that same ability, else I could also help with the plant and flowers in the garden.

Vacation

I want a vacation!!! It is still hot in my part of the world but the weather bureau said that it’s going to start raining soon. Now my dream of relaxing under the warm sun is fading away. Add to that, school days will be starting soon and it will be my son’s first time so we really can’t go on a vacation anymore. I even dreamt that I’m in one of the Breezes Resorts enjoying one of their all inclusive vacation packages with great food and accommodation. I’m sure some of you have dreamt the same. Who wouldn’t? About my dream, I was in Runaway Bay Jamaica enjoying their world class amenities, superb food, sitting by the hammock and looking at the endless beach! I also dreamt of enjoying water activities such as windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving and of course swimming at the pool or the beach! My all time favorite sport! After my water activities, I had a soothing spa on one of the villas by the beach. That would be nice, right? My husband on the other hand is playing golf with his business partners and even had a hole-in-one! Now this is really a dream because for one, we don’t have a business and two, my husband doesn’t know how to play golf :D When I wake up, I remembered my dream and it makes me want to have a vacation more! I want to go back to sleep and hope to dream about Negril Jamaica, a world-acclaimed resort with magnificent miles of silver sand. I hope next time; it won’t be a dream anymore but a dream come true! That would be perfect!

House Plans

Last week, my sister-in-law mentioned that she was planning to buy a house for the family as their parents are planning on coming home by the end of the year. It will surely be a complex process as several considerations have to be made like location, options for house plans, number and sizes of the rooms, number of bathrooms, etc. Fortunately, there’s this site called HousePlansandMore.com of HDA, Inc. where all these are considered. The first thing I checked for – and thankfully they had it – was for multi-family house plans. One of the best things about the site is the variety and number of selections they have. Some would just have several plans for different styles of houses, but this site had hundreds to choose from, and that was just for a particular style. When I saw what they had to offer, I used up a good portion of the day browsing around the site, looking through different project plans like garage plans. You have to look real hard for garage plans in other sites, but not here, and options still abound from number of cars to garages with a workshop and even RV garages. They even have cabin plans should you opt for the cozy feeling and style of your home. This is best if you’re planning a vacation house. I could spend the whole day looking through the site just to check out all the plans they have to have an overview of what our ideal house would look like.

Geothermal Cooling Systems

Being eco friendly is the way to go now. People are aware how important it is to be earth friendly and are conscious now of things to do to protect our mother earth. There are even campaigns done like marathons to help raise funds for different purposes such as cleaning the river or there are others that provide street lamps using solar as power. The parent company where my employer belongs recently bought a company that the main product is geothermal systems. Their focus now is on renewable energy and they said that this is the way to go. Having this would mean we will be using less energy and at the same time being environment friendly. Also you can have geothermal air conditioning through this system. It has low running cost since it uses the temperature below the earth surface comparing with the conventional air conditioning system which has to deal with various external temperatures. Plus geothermal cooling is easier to extract than heating since earth is much cooler than the air temperature on a hot day. It removes heat from the home and deposits in into the ground. Again, going geothermal is eco-friendly and cheaper. So, are you convinced on going geothermal?

Cartier Fake Watches- Recognized By the Name

The watch from Cartier is exactly the piece which can boast to a label of the most identifiable in the globe. Even Antonio Banderas, the famous actor could not oppose the enticement to beautify his wrist with the Pasha watch from Cartier. The Pasha watch which is probably the most beautiful model of the brand, is having three sub dials placed on the main dial(round in shape) are positioned at the places of 3, 6 and 9 respectively. Date window is placed between 4 o’ clock and 5 o’ clock.
The tank collection from Cartier is also not less identifiable. It is a watch of some special characteristics- dignified, refined sophistication and extreme pompousness. It is a watch with concise features like concise stainless steel case amid diamonds, dial in the shape of square, a standard date window placed at 6, Roman numerals on the dial and quartz movement.
The Pasha Collection and Tank Collection have fairly enough admirers among both sexes i.e. women and men. It was made as a unisex model determinedly. The only difference between the ladies watch and the gents watch is that the former watch is smaller than the later one’s.
Although the designs of the Pasha and Tank Collections are very impressive and they are capable of attracting the clients by their uniqueness, but their expensive character led to the invention of fake watches. Cartier fake watches feature flawless mechanisms with the faces of crystal sapphire to offer scratch resistance. De Pasha carbon copy watches feature all the popular models of authentic watches such as Diwan watches, Pasha watches, Santos watches and Panthere watches. These watches imitate the genuine watches in every detail. The major difference between them is that instead of using precious jewels, some sparking stones are used in the making of Cartier fake watches. The prices are also very reasonable that they do not overload on your pocket.
