Volleyball Championship

Aside from swimming, one of my favorite sports is volleyball.  I was a player in school before and I really had fun playing that sport.  I started playing when I was in grade 4 until 4th year high school.  Nope I wasn’t a varsity player, and I just play during the intramurals in school but it was one of the experiences I won’t forget.
Anyway, I was glad to see that the sport is now getting a lot of attention and they can even fill up an arena just like during the elimination rounds.  And now, I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz and excitement on what will happen in the finals between the Lady Eagles and the Lady Spikers.  I’ve been rooting for the Lady Eagles even before my son started studying in Ateneo and I know they’ll have a hard time with La Salle especially since they are the defending champion.  And based from what I watched in the eliminations before, La Salle really has good tactics and powerful defense.  But just like every fan, I’m not losing hope and I will cheer for the Lady Eagles.  Who knows this time around, they can beat La Salle :)

Hectic Schedule

This weekend will be a busy weekend for our family.  Both kids will have school activities on Saturday at the same time and worse we don’t know yet if Paul will be available.  Hannah has a school play while it will be Lance’s last day in basketball clinic.  They will be playing against another team in Ateneo then there will be kids from Xavier and La Salle who they will play against with too.  I will be going to Hannah’s play and Paul will go to Lance’s basketball if he won’t have work.  If he really can’t make it, my sister said that she will go to Lance’s basketball instead of going to Hannah’s school play.  We’ll see.

The Princess is Sick

We were surprised yesterday when Hannah was so hot after going to church.  I immediately checked her temperature and it was 39.2!  Thankfully she's still lively and "makulit" despite the fever.  After I gave her paracetamol, her temp went down but shoots up again in the afternoon.  But during the night, her fever was 39.4 and there were rashes coming out that Paul and I decided to bring her to the ER.

The pedia there told us that it is too early yet to detect what's causing the fever and the rashes and if she goes thru with the CBC it will still show normal results because it hasn't been 24 hours since she got fever.  We were asked to monitor her temperature and the spread of the rashes, if there'll be any.  They gave her paracetamol and waited until her temp goes down.  It was 39.2 when we were admitted and thankfully, the paracetamol helped.  She still has fever when we left but it was just 38.4.  They prescribed paracetamol and anti-histamine and instructed us to let Hannah have a bed rest for 2 days and visit the pedia on Feb 13.

When I called the house this afternoon, the yaya said that her temp is down to 37 and hopefully it will continue to go down.  We hope that the little girl will be ok soon.

Happy Birthday Mama!

Another reason why I was on leave last Friday was because it was my mom’s birthday.  My sis was on leave too and took my mom to the doctor for check-up and to hear mass.  I bought a cake for her, thanks to Sugar House’s promo at Deal Grocer, I was able to buy their truffle with discount.  My sister and my mom also went to SnR to buy ice cream.  We love their ice cream because it’s cheap, it’s big and it’s not too sweet!
Ate Riza (the kids’ nanny) cooked pansit and my brother’s MIL gave puto and voila, we have a simple celebration.  The kids made a card for my mom as their gift and gave it to her as soon as they arrived.
Here’s the birthday girl with her cake.  Happy Birthday again Mama! We love you!

Movie Night

Since we have the big tv already (that's what the kids call our new tv), Lance declared Friday nights as movie night.  This means they can sleep late, and choose whatever movie they want to watch.  I also need to make sure that they have popcorn and coke on that day, bring the mattress to the living room so they can sit on the floor while they eat with the lights off.  In Lance's words "It's like a movie theater" hehe!

Recently we had a Transformers marathon where we started with Transformers 1 and half of transformers 2.  I told them that we will just finish the rest of the movie the following day because it's almost midnight already.  Thankfully they obeyed and went to sleep after.

Half of transformers 2 was continued on Saturday and also Transformers 3.  I don't even remember how many times we've seen those movies because Lance always wants to watch them.

This Friday is movie night again and I don't know yet what we're going to watch.  Thankfully Paul downloads movies all the time especially the ones the kids like so we'll just let them choose.  I just hope that for Friday it won't be transformers again. :D
