All About Cars

My brother-in-law works for a magazine that talk about cars and all sorts of vehicles. Sometimes, when I read some of his articles, I don’t understand what he was saying. It’s as if he is speaking a foreign language hehe! He talks about the type of motor, the interior, the overall features of the car even the dub wheels which I have no idea what it’s all about. All I know is how to drive it but when it comes to the details as to which is better and can save more on gas, I need to ask other peoples’ opinions. For me, as long as it is working, all signal lights, brakes, aircon, etc are working, it’s good enough for me. But I know, I must also know some of those stuff so that when my car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, I’ll know what to do. :)

Last Day

It’s the last day of the long weekend and tomorrow we’re back to reality. We decided to spend the last day at home to rest so that tomorrow we will all be ready to go back to our regular lives. The kids also have cough and I don’t want them to get too sick so instead of going to the mall, we just spend the day at home. They are now asleep which gives me some time to blog. We had a wonderful weekend even if we didn’t spend it out of town. We don’t have budget for that as of the moment hehe! Anyhow, I’m thankful for this long weekend for I was able to bond with my family and had my much needed rest. :)

The Amazing Race

One of the shows that I love to watch is the amazing race. Sometimes Paul and I even strategize as to who will take the tasks just in case we were lucky enough to be one of the contestants. He said that when it comes to water challenges I should be the one doing it while he can handle all the eating challenges LOL! I remember there are some challenges where you need to take to the pit stop the garden gnomes you found and sometimes there are surprises in those gnomes. Anyhow, I’m really sad I don’t get to watch it anymore since I don’t get to watch tv often. Hopefully soon, I’ll find the time to watch it again. I really miss this show.

ER

We had a short trip to the emergency room a couple of Mondays ago due to Hannah’s rashes. The yayas called us on the cell phone and told us that Hannah’s rashes are increasing and that her whole chest is covered with red spots. Paul and I immediately went home. We were glad though that Hannah is still on her usual “kulit” self and has no fever. After dinner, we went to the hospital for check up. They took Hannah’s temperature and asked us to stay at the isolation area because of the rashes. While we were waiting, Hannah is still makulit but every time a doctor approaches us, she tries to sit still and behave. The doctor told us that it’s good that Hannah doesn’t have fever because it means she has no infection. They said that it could be airborne and we just have to observe. They prescribed a medicine and told us that if Hannah gets a fever, we just give her a paracetamol and also visit the pedia after two days. After that we went home. We are just glad that Hannah is ok.

Need to Upgrade

I noticed in some of our pictures that our reliable point and shoot camera does not produce clear pictures anymore. I’m not sure if there were changes in the settings but there’s a definite change in the picture. And because of that I’ve been looking for sites that sells digital cameras where Paul and I can choose from. I now have a reason to upgrade our camera. We’re not considering buying a DSLR but an upgrade in our camera will be a nice treat. :)

Accident

I was chatting with my cousin the other day and he told me that he got into an accident a couple of weeks ago. He said he got injured and was not able to go to work for a week. I was even teasing him that it was probably his fault because I know there are several times that he got into an accident because he was drunk. Anyway, this time he said it wasn’t really his fault and good thing an Austin personal injury lawyer helped him and he was able to collect from the one at fault. He said he got them from O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949. Anyway, I’m glad he’s ok and he said he will be back to work by next week.

Half Day

Our office declared a half day today due to heavy rains. The HR people are also calling on the employees who were affected by Ondoy, myself included, to immediately go home or to check if it’s safer to stay in the office than go home. One of my officemates chose to stay since she was informed that her family evacuated their house already since the flood is getting deep and having experienced Ondoy before, they don’t want to have the same experience again. I, on the other hand, immediately went home when we were told to do so. My kids were home with the yayas and my mom and I’m scared that our street might be flooded and I’m not home. Fortunately, there’s no flood on my way home and also there’s no flood in our street that I was able to go home safe. Now we’re just waiting for Paul and my sister and hope that they be home too before it rains again. Be safe everyone!
