Last Weekend

Friday night, I went to Coconut Palace for Josiah’s Food tasting. My cousin is planning her wedding and just like me, she’s alone in the wedding preparations. Her fiancĂ© is out of the country working kaya she asked me to accompany her. Syempre I went with her, kainan yon eh! Hehehe! Balay Kandila did a great job in making Coconut Palace a nice place to have a wedding reception. It was really nice and of course ang sarap ng food! Sarap talaga kumain pag libre! Hehe! We went home with a full stomach. I even saw John and Benz coz they were distributing yellow pages and wedding primer.

Saturday, I’m her dakilang driver. Left the house at 10am and went to Army Clubhouse first. She liked the clubhouse but her concern is she might be bumped off. The person in charge of the clubhouse told us that if there are functions in the Army and they will be using the clubhouse, even if you’ve reserved already, they would bump you off. Yay! That’s too risky!

Next stop is at Santuario De San Antonio. It is really a very beautiful church. There was also a wedding going on kaya we were able to see the set up of the church. Ganda talaga!

Then we went to Manila Pavilion (where I had my reception!) The lobby was renovated na, and it’s really nice. Sayang lang that during our wedding, it was under renovation. We checked out their tent at the 5th floor and it’s nice also. Sayang lang our contact left already kaya we were not able to talk to her. My cousin will just go back to talk to her to ask if she can avail of the same package I got.

Next we went to Orchidarium. My cousin also liked the place. I just can’t remember what her comment was on that place. But she’s planning to have her pre-nup there. Good choice! J

From Orchidarium, off we went to Intramuros. First stop was at Puerta Real, then Ilustrado, then Patio Victoria, and last was Villa Immaculada. On those 4 venues, she like Ilustrado the most and hated Villa Immaculada because of the girl who talked to us. She’s mataray and does not know how to accommodate prospective customers. Sayang, was not able to get her name.

Our last stop is San Agustin Church and Manila Cathedral and among the two, she liked Cathedral and I agree with her. It’s really a beautiful church.

Whew! That was my Saturday, got kinda tired with driving all day but it was fun. And…. I miss wedding preparations!

Early Sunday, went to the airport coz my sister, cousin and pamangkins were leaving for Hong Kong. This is the same group that I should be with if only they allowed me to go. Haayy….. Anyway, from the airport, I drove again to marikina coz that’s were I’m staying till Wednesday. Glad to go there coz I just lay down the whole day. Either watch dvd, sleep, read books or play with ethan. :)

These books naman were given by my officemates. Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Sun Ching San. Hehehe! I also received a birthday cake from our office but I was not able to take a picture of it.

After office, me and my officemates went to Coffeebean Gateway. Did not treat them for dinner since we’re still full from the merienda in our office c/o one of the directors who’s also celebrating his birthday.

It was a wonderful day (syempre no! bday ko eh! Hehe!) I was able to go to mass and go to work. Sayang lang Paul was not here to celebrate it with me. But just the same, he made me feel really special. :)

Another US Trip

We had a 2-week business trip to the US last month. We visited a client in Ohio to conduct a technical training on the product that we have developed for them. They were actually based in the city of Loveland which is about 45 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. Our host said that a lot of people send their mail from Loveland for Valentines Day just to have a little red stamp in the shape of a heart on the envelopes. Also, we learned that we arrived on the coldest weekend of the year. No wonder our hands and faces were freezing when we were outside. Everyone there was really friendly. May makasalubong ka lang sa hallway or kahit sa kalsada babatiin ka na, even if we were complete strangers. Our host was just a small company so during mealtime we would all go out, from the company president to the production staff. They took us to different restaurants, we had japanese, italian, and of course western. And like I said in a previous post, they had big servings. Aside from that, they always order appetizers. So minsan appetizers pa lang busog ka na eh wala pa yung main course. We felt that we all gained weight on that trip.

On the 2nd week, we visited a business partner in LA. We arrived in LA on a sunday so we had the afternoon free so I called up Toni's cousins and we all met for dinner. During the weekday naman we were busy with work, or at least pretending to be busy hehehe. It was just like being back in Taiwan because everyone there were Taiwanese.

We were also lucky enough to have the next sunday as a free day also so I had a chance to see Toni's parents and relatives there. We had a big lunch it was like a fiesta. What was flattering was that they prepared all that just because I was coming. Very heart warming :) We all ate a lot that some of us fell asleep on the couch after eating. Her cousins and I even watched the movie Dave Chappelle's Block Party. That was the first movie I watched in a theater outside Manila.

I would say that I had fun during my stay there. The only difficult part was the time difference between the US and Manila. We weren't able to chat or talk very often when I was there. Anyway, we know that someday we'll be together again, with our baby :)

Updates

It’s been awhile since I last posted here. Nagkukunyaring busy eh. Hehehe! Well actually, wala naman masyadong nangyari sa kin for the past few days! I’ve been attending meetings for our summer outing and for the company uniform. After four years, mag-uniform na naman kami! My goodness! In a way, ok na din since I won’t have problems buying new clothes. Less gastos! :D I’m also busy with the procedures they were asking me to do for CDMA phones and for the ISO certification of accesslink.

For our summer outing, we already went to Subic to check out their beach. Went to Clark also for Fontana and Clear Water. Both venues were nice pero masungit yung girl don sa Clear Water. Hmp! We also went to Leo’s Park at San Fernando Pampanga. So far, we’re leaning towards Leo’s Park. Well that depends on how much they’re gonna charge us.

Haven’t talked to Paul for quite some time now coz he’s in the states. He left last Feb. 19 and will be back on Mar 4 pa. Medyo hirap lang since different time frame. Eh lagi pa naman akong tulog! Hehehe! Was able to chat with him kanina, he’s in Ohio now and he said they’re flying naman to LA tomorrow (well, that’s later tonight here in the Philippines). La lang, miss ko lang siya. Tagal ko na di nakakausap ng maayos eh. Most of the time, madaliang chat lang. But it’s ok, work yon eh. Miss ko lang siya talaga and I hope to see him soon!

One of the most exciting things that happened last week was the standoff between Gen Allaga and Col Querubin. I live inside the camp of Fort Bonifacio. Early Friday morning, there were already soldiers walking around the camp especially at the gates. And they’re in full battle gear! Since nothing much happened last Friday, the camp was in red alert but the soldiers walking around were fewer than before. Then come Sunday, here they are again. Gates closed, soldiers roaming around in full battle gear. Lawton Avenue is not passable, etc… Our relatives were texting and calling us if we’re ok because they saw in the tv that there’s so much action going on inside the camp. I just told them that it’s far from where we’re staying. The action is at the Marines Headquarters while our house is near the Army Headquarters. With that they were ok na! Come Monday, the scene is still the same, it’s still on red alert, there were still soldiers roaming around in full battle gear and the gates are closed but they said that it was already settled Sunday night so it’s back to normal days. Hayyy… sayang! We want more action! Hehehe!

With regards to my pregnancy, nothing much is happening really. I’m not the type kasi na nagsusuka or naglilihi! All I want is to eat always. Hehehe! So now, ayun, mataba na ako! I’ll have my check up again on March 8. I just hope the baby’s fine with the food I’m eating and with the activities I’m doing. :)
