Service Centers

Every time I bring my sister’s car, I always make sure that I know the nearest breakdown service center just in case the car breaks down. The car is quite old already that I know I need to be extra careful when driving it. But thankfully, I have not experienced car breakdown and I do hope I won’t experience it. I guess it’s time for us to buy a new car. I do hope it will be really soon!

Busy Saturday

Last Saturday was a busy day for us. In the morning, we sent the kids for check-up and also asked the pedia to sign the form needed for Lance’s big school. It was also Paul’s follow-up check-up from since he was sick a couple of days ago.

After the check-up, we sent the kids home then Paul and I went to Ateneo for the ASES as blogged here. From there, we went to Medical City for my check-up with my OB and for Pap smear too. We also asked my OB to give me referral slip so I can have a TVS, Blood Test, Urinalysis, and Breast ultrasound since it will be the last time that I’ll be able to use my HMO since I have resigned already.

I was able to have the pap smear and urinalysis right away. We went to lunch first since it was 2:30 already then went back to the ambulatory for the blood test. I was informed that fasting is needed so they advised me to go back next time. They are open na at 6:00am so I can come na as early as that. We then went to the breast clinic but they had the cut off already. They advised me to come back early because they only accept scheduling on the same day and they only accommodate 30 persons per day. Since I’ll be going back early for my blood test, I told them that I’ll just come back next time. After that, we went to women’s health center for my TVS. When my turn was called, the sonologists said that I have a nice uterus and that my DMPA (contraceptive shots), are working because they can see the thick lining. I don’t really know what they meant when they said that my uterus is good, hopefully it means it’s a healthy uterus. They also had pelvic ultrasound just to be sure and they had the same results.

I was finished there by 5:30 and from there Paul and I went to Megamall to search for the kids wish list for our upcoming Christmas party. When we found na what we think they want, we went home. It was really one tiring but fruitful day. :)

Applying for NBI Clearance

As mentioned before, I resigned from work a few weeks back and so I need to comply to the requirements of the company where I am going and one of the requirements is the NBI clearance. Luckily, there is an NBI branch at Robinsons Metro East that is just walking distance to our house. The thing is, when I asked the information counter on what time I should be there, she said that people arrive early in the morning to fall in line and NBI accepts only 500 applicants. When I say early, as in 2:00-4:00am! So I asked Paul to go with me since it’s too early. We arrived at 4:00am and true enough there was a line already. We just waited there and by 5:00am, the guards led us to the 6th floor parking area where we waited again until 8:00 when NBI is opened. What’s good about it lang is that we were able to sit down at the parking area compared when we were at the ground floor.

In fairness to NBI, the processing is quick as long as you don’t have a hit. When they opened at 8:00am, I was given #81. I waited for about 2 more hours before my number was called. Unfortunately, I have a hit so I was not able to get my clearance. I was asked to come back on Nov. 11 to claim it.

To those of you who will be applying for NBI clearance, here are the steps:

Step 1: Get your number and form from the guard.

Step 2: When your number is called go to window 1 to pay. The clearance costs P115.00.

Step 3: Wait for your turn for encoding.

Step 4: Proceed to the next window for picture taking and finger scanning.

Step 5: Claim your clearance (provided you don’t have a hit, you will be given a date when to claim in case your name has a hit.)

Zach's 4th Birthday

Grade school and high school friend Rhea invited us to her son’s 4th birthday last Saturday.  We haven’t seen each other for a long time but we chat at ym.  She invited us before to her other son’s birthday but we were not able to come at that time.

So last Saturday, I made sure that we will be able to go to Zach’s birthday which was held at Shakey’s Antipolo.  Rhea provided us a map so we didn’t have a hard time looking for it.  The kids had so much fun and were able to take home lots of prizes.

Rhea and I were not able to talk though because she’s busy with her kids and guests and so do I.  We promised ourselves though that we will make some time to meet and catch up with each other’s lives and this time without the kids.  Thanks again Rhea for inviting us.  The kids had so much fun!
