Weekend Update

Here’s a blow-by-blow account of what happened to us last weekend.

Saturday

Morning was spent at Medical City. I had breast ultrasound, thyroid ultrasound, pap smear and urinalysis. Those were requested by the doctor during our Annual Physical Exam. I already have the result for my thyroid ultrasound and thank God it was normal but I was advised to see an internist to be sure. I’ll be going back to Medical City again on Sat for consultation and at the same time get the results for the other tests. Paul had a check up with an EENT while waiting for me. He also went to Hannah’s pedia to get the results of her newborn screening test. After that we went home.

By 4pm, Paul’s siblings and their family went to our house to bring 2 balikbayan boxes containing my father-in-law’s clothes and other stuff. But before we opened the box, we went to Loyola first to visit their mom and to inquire also about my father-in-law’s lot. The kids had a great time running around, especially Lance who hasn’t gone out for a long time. After that we all went back to our house to celebrate the birthdays of Patrick (Feb 13), Dimples (Feb 3) and their mom (Feb 20). We all had a great time that we didn’t realize it was late already. :) Here’s a pic of the kids (minus Hannah) in Loyola:

L-R: Rhys, Lance, Dana and Dylan

When they left, Paul and I went to Eastwood to meet my HS friends. We decided to meet at one of my HS friend and his wife’s unit in Lafayette since most of us are near the area. We were the last ones to arrive and we stayed there till 1am. It was fun seeing them again, talking about high school stuff and even our grade school days. Then they talked about the stag party for one of our friends who’ll be getting married in May. So I guess the guys will see each other again for the stag party. :)

Sunday

We woke up early again to for the 7:30am mass. And as always Lance and I were late. Since the chapel is just walking distance from our house, I always ask Paul to go ahead with Hannah while I prepare Lance. After mass we just stayed home while waiting for the time since we’ll leave again for lunch at my cousin’s house in Tandang Sora. We had triple celebration so most of my relatives will be going to there. It’s my cousin’s bday (feb 21), despedida for my cousin who left for US this morning, and a surprise bridal shower for her too. We played pinoy-henyo while the daddies are taking care of the kids and comfortably sitting at the
patio furniture. All of us had a great time and wished both of them good luck. Here are the pictures of the celebrants.

Annual Physical Exam

Last Thursday, we had our annual physical exam here in the office. This is regularly done to check the health of all employees here in the company. The normal tests are standard breast exam, urinalysis / fecalysis, CBC, chest x-ray and eye refraction. And additional tests are done for the management team. We had ECG, blood chemistry, CA 125 (I think this is for the cervix), Pap smear and SGPT/SGOT (and this one is for the liver).

When it was my turn, the doctor felt something on my breast and was advised to have breast ultrasound. She also noticed something in my throat and advised me to have thyroid ultrasound too. And when it was my turn for eye refraction, the optometrist said I have astigmatism. And because of that she instructed me to wear eyeglasses so that I’ll have better vision. The glasses arrived yesterday and I’m wearing mine today. I still need sometime to get used to it. And with regards to my ultrasound, I’m scheduled on Feb 21 for both thyroid and breast. Hopefully they won’t find anything serious. Pray for me. :)

Time to Clean the Pipes

No, it's not what some of you are thinking. We’ve been having problems with our kitchen sink. The bottom occasionally leaks – this may be a more of a pipe issue since it’s only leaking out clear water – and the drain gets clogged every so often. We’ve tried pouring hot water on it and the commercial decloggers, but it will get clogged again after a few days. It’s not like we just throw the leftovers in the sink. We’d probably get a double bowl sink and Moen faucets to replace the old ones as well.

Shopping

A lot of my online friends are into shopping lately. I’d love to shop too but unfortunately I don’t have extra money to spend. If only I have extra moolah, I’d like to buy Paul a Roger Dubuis watch that I saw online. He’s been complaining on his watch and I think it’s about time that we replace it. I still need to show it to him and hopefully he’ll like it.

A Nice Gift

It’s February already and what comes to mind during February? Yup that’s right, Valentine’s Day. I’m sure most couples are thinking of ways on how to celebrate their Valentines. Some prefers watching concerts while others plan an out of town trip and there are some who prefers romantic dinner. And there are also others who surprise their partners with gifts. And one gift that is commonly given during Valentines Day is jewelries.
I’m sure any person who would receive this as a gift will truly appreciate it. Most men find it difficult to choose which type of jewelry to give to their partners. But thanks to some internet site which gives them some guidelines on buying jewelries depending on the occasion. It’s very informative since it also gives you tips for choosing jewelry.

Paul and I don’t celebrate Valentines Day. But he’s been complaining on his watch and I’m thinking of buying him one. I have no idea yet what to give him but thanks to
this site which has guidelines on buying watches. I hope I’ll find one that will suit him best. :)

Happy 4th Month Hannah!

Here's Hannah at 4 months!
Took this picture this morning after hearing mass. Hannah weighs 6.2kgs as of last check up. She'll have one again next week and I wonder how much she weighs now. She loves to smile a lot and talks a lot too. Sometimes she'll just keep on babbling while in the bed and entertains herself. hehe! She loves talking to people too! Paul was teasing me that when Hannah goes to school I might frequent the principal's office because she’ll belong to the noisy girls in class. Hehe! Oh well... Happy 4th month Hannah! We love you!
