Dream

One of my dreams is to travel together for a family vacation either out of town or out of the country. Paul and I have been working so hard and a good quality time with the family is a nice reward. But since I still find Hannah too young to enjoy a vacation, we decided to put this on hold and wait for the right time. Hopefully we can have one next year since by then Hannah is more than one year old already. I’m thinking of going to Disneyland or if this is not possible, we can go to the beach like the white sand beaches of Riviera Maya and I’m sure it’s not only the kids who will enjoy but so do I. haha! Let’s see if my dream will come true next year.

TV Series

I’m fond of watching tv series in dvd. I watched Alias, One Tree Hill, The OC, Grey’s Anatomy, Chuck, and Prison Break, which I just finished watching a couple of days ago. Those series really kept me awake all night whenever I watch them. It’s as if I can’t make myself stop unless I’m finished with the series that I almost always end up sleepy the following day at work. Hahaha!

And last night, I started watching Fringe. I liked their pilot episode plus I still find Joshua Jackson hot so I’m sure this is now the new source of my sleepless nights hehehe! J

A Little More Savings

After rummaging through our closet last weekend, I saw some gifts we received that were still left unused. We had water filters, silverware, coffeemakers, among others. I just put them back in the closet but I’m really considering finally using the filter. We don’t use one at the moment – we buy our purified drinking water. So if we just have the purifier installed, that will contribute to a little savings.

Belly Dancing

I went to the gym again yesterday and there was a belly dancing class. I joined in the exercise and I really enjoyed it. There were times that I was laughing while dancing because I’m having difficulty doing what the instructor was asking us to do. Feeling ko I look silly doing it hehehe! But I felt great after the dance and now I’m sure I’ll be going to the gym on Tuesdays. 

Praying The Rosary

One of the things that I’d like to do again is to pray the rosary and to pray it daily. When I was a child, our family prays the rosary everyday during October, that being the month of the holy rosary. I remember my mom will call all of us to be together in the living room where we will put our Mama Mary, light a candle and all of us will kneel while praying. My brother, sister and I alternate in leading the rosary. We continued doing that until I think I graduated college although sometimes we’re not complete anymore because of our schedules. But my mom made sure that we will pray the rosary.

And now that I’m a mom already, I’d like to continue doing that with my family. My kids are still young so I’d like to start with myself first. And I got more inspired to do this when I saw again pictures of our late President Cory Aquino. She is a Marian devotee and their family always prays the rosary.

I tried praying the rosary the other night and I was not able to finish it. I fell asleep when I was praying Hail Holy Queen and continued it when I woke up hehehe! Anyway, I will really do my best to pray the rosary each night. I hope when I have a fixed schedule of doing it, I won’t fall asleep na. Wish me luck! :)

On Buying A House

One of the topics in twitter a few weeks ago is about purchasing a dream house. Some were thinking of getting a townhouse while others prefer living in a condominium and others having their own house and lot. For those who were buying house and lot, some friends suggested that if they lack money for now, they can buy a lot first then save again for the construction of the house. At least they have the lot already. Some said they are checking the interest rates on different banks and others check the housing loan offered by Pag-Ibig. There are also those that were given mortgage insurance rates by insurance companies. As for me, we still are saving money for our needs, which includes a house, a family car and the children’s education. We’re also thinking of migrating so we don’t know yet what will come first. We just pray to God to help us in our plans.

My Kids..

We’re on our way to Serendra when I took this shot. Cute no! I was wearing shades and both kids were looking at me as if telling me to put theirs on kaya I gave them their shades and took a picture. These two are really the source of my joy. Taking care of them maybe tiring sometimes but it’s surely worth it! Whenever I get home from work and I see them smile and run to me for a hug, all my tiredness is gone. They encourage me to do more and I know I need to be a better person for them. :)

LED's Get It On

Some of the cars being released commercially are now equipped with led tail lights. This is a good idea for safety reasons. LEDs light up quicker than conventional bulbs, which need to heat up the filament first. Hence, if one was to step on the brakes on an LED-equipped car, the vehicle behind it can see the tail lights go on quicker, making the second driver able to react faster. It may only be a fraction of a second quicker, but equate that if the cars are a hundred meters apart. That can be the difference of an accident. Another advantage is that LED tail lights are made up of an array of LEDs. So if ever one LED is busted (though this rarely happens as LEDs have a lifespan of 50,000 hours – another advantage of LEDs), all the other LEDs in the array would still light up, so you wouldn’t be pulled over for a broken tail light. And LEDs are also cooler and require less power, so it is more efficient when it comes to power consumption and management. So that’s the way to go when it comes to tail lights.

Thank You Tita Cory

January 25, 1933 - August 1, 2009

Thank you for the things you have done for the Filipino people.  Thank you for praying for us and for letting people know that God is really present in our lives. I admire you for your strength and courage and for being so religious.  Thank you President Cory and may you rest in peace.

Looking For...

Something I’m considering to buy is a new Linksys router. The one we have now is a little over a year old and we’re starting to have problems with it. Sometimes it would all of a sudden indicate limited or no connectivity, and we have to do a reset on it to get it back up and running. It would be quite a hassle especially if you’re downloading something.

Movie Date

Last Saturday, my sister, Paul and I watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince at SM Marikina. We were late for 10 minutes so we did not see the first few scenes. I did not expect so much from the movie since I’ve heard a lot of bad feedbacks. And they were true. There’s not much action as I was expecting and there are scenes that are not according to the book, plus there are also scenes I was expecting that were not included. But even if I did not like the movie that much, I still am glad to see it.
Next on the list are Public Enemies and GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. I hope to see Public Enemies this weekend then GI Joe next week.

Let's Talk Music

One of the things that I’d like my children to have is the love for music. I’d like for them to play at least one instrument and I really hope that they’ll like it. Lance hasn’t shown any interest yet and if he will, I’d like him to learn how to play the guitar and for Hannah to play piano. When I was in grade school, my mom enrolled me to a music school and that’s where I learned how to play the keyboards/organ. It’s one of the things that I love to do but unfortunately I haven’t done it in a long time. As for the kids, I really hope I can encourage them to play an instrument. I guess I should start now.

Netbooking

We’re thinking of getting ourselves a netbook for our home. Some of you might think “why a netbook if you’ll just use it at home?” Three reasons – size, weight, and cost. A desktop with all the features and computing power would be nice, a laptop with the portability would be great; but for practicality, a netbook could get the job done and would do fine. Another one we could do is to find someone who deals on retail and wholesale laptops. Usually these guys buy by bulk to get special discounts from the manufacturer, and then sell it off individually. That’s what one of my colleagues did he got a sweet deal out of his.
