Portland PC Repair

My husband is into gadgets and some geeky stuff. Whenever I need to buy something related to laptops or gadgets, I ask for his opinion first. And, I always listen to his advice. Like there was this gadget I was considering buying, he told me his views on it, its pros and cons and also some of the reviews he read on the net. After I heard his insights, I decided not to buy the gadget and I was happy with my decision. Anyhow, like what I said my husband loves gadgets. Most of my relatives seek his help whenever they have computer breakdowns. My sister-in-law was really happy when he was able to get her laptop running again. My cousin in Portland was telling my husband that he should use his knowledge and think about starting a computer repair business. My cousin told us about a Portland computer support company called PCMD, Inc. that does much of their service by remote hook-up. Customers can have either remote service or service in their home. With this type of service my husband would not need a big shop for repairs, and most of the work could be done remotely from our home. My cousin said this Portland computer repair company charges very reasonable rates and he says the staff is very personable, friendly, and knowledgeable and they know how to speak to people in a language they understand, that is no Geek talk or techno babble. I know my husband was impressed by what my cousin told him about this company and the way it provides Portland pc repair. Well as much as he liked what he heard, I don't think my husband is ready to get into the computer repair business anytime soon. Besides he keeps busy enough with his regular work and keeping all of our relatives' computers running smoothly. He says he does not have the time to commit to such a repair business, as the Portland computer support company is so committed to serving their customers they are open 7 days a week.

A Place To Call Our Own

I’ve mentioned a couple of times that my parents are thinking of buying a house when they go back here in the Philippines to settle down. Right now, we are still in the process of looking for the perfect house. Perfect in such a way that we like the style, all of us will fit into it, it has on a nice location, has Backyard Living, and most of all it will fit the budget. We really haven’t started looking yet, my sister just asked some people for recommendations and she received a few already but we haven’t visited those places yet.

We also haven’t talked about whether to buy a house and lot or just a lot first and have the house constructed so that we can have the design we want. My parents said it is up to us but they want the house to have a patio so they can put some patio furniture they plan to buy while they are still in the United States. We said we will do our best on our search to meet their requests. Like when they told us about the patio furniture they want, I checked on the net and read about the patio design blog so as to give me an idea when we do our house hunting. They said they just want to have a place where they can sit down and relax enjoying the afternoon together. We told them we will take note of that.

I really hope we can find the house we are looking for. I’m sure it will be difficult for we have a limited budget and we sometimes disagree on the location. These things just needs to be discussed but I’m sure in due time everything will be ok and soon, we will finally have a place to call our own.

Funds

I talked about our company’s plans for the rest of the year in my previous posts. The success of our business and the company will rely more on our provincial heads and I’m sure they are really pressured because of the expectations that the management are giving them. I’m sure on their heads they were thinking and hoping that their target partners in their provinces buy gold bullion years ago so that at present time, they won’t be thinking on were to get their funds to finance and support our projects. That’s because these gold bullions increase its value as time goes by. Anyhow, I really hope that all heads will perform as expected so that all of us will have a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous year for the company.

ROY

We had our rest of year planning last July 22-23 at Astoria Plaza. This year’s roy is a lot different from our previous planning sessions for we did not talk about the financials. We talked about the profiles of the provinces/areas where we hold office and we also talked about the potential businesses we can offer for each province. The provincial heads discussed their respective provinces and the department heads discussed their products and how to sell it to our customers. The new business, which I will be heading, was also launched during the planning.

Our president also invited Mr. Raffy Alunan to talk about DILG briefly. This is part of our strategy and we would like to know a lot about how the local government runs their provinces. We really have high hopes that we can penetrate a larger market nationwide and I hope and pray that my product will be a big part of this penetration.

Busy Week

Last week, our provincial heads arrived for our rest of year planning at Astoria plaza. We have ten provincial offices and all the provincial heads arrived last Monday. Their schedule was really tight for they need to meet the territory managers and have dinner with them everyday. My “new” boss is the territory manager for Mindanao and we were scheduled to meet them last Monday. I had fun meeting these people and learned a lot from their provinces. I should really take time to know them and their respective provinces because the new business I will be handling will focus on their areas.

Anyhow, I think I gained some weight last week we ate a lot after meeting. Monday, we ate at Little Quiapo with the Mindanao provincial heads, Tuesday was at Alex III with the Luzon heads and Wednesday was a bit different for we went to Music 21 with the Visayas provincial heads. It was the birthday of one of the provincial heads that my boss decided to celebrate it at a videoke knowing that they love to sing! And we’re right because everyone sang that there are still a lot of songs that they want to sing but we need to cut short our fellowship for we still need to be early for our planning the following day. I’ll make a different post about our planning.

Next week is still a busy week for us for they are still here. We need to discuss the business strategies for each of the products we are selling and the heads also need to have some technical training to be able to understand better our products. As for me, aside from making sure that I bond with them, I need to learn more about the new product I am tasked to develop. This is really a challenge and I hope I’ll be able to meet their expectations.

Employment

I'm currently hanging as to where I will push through with my employment. My current company's offer is substantial that I decided to stay. With regards to the other company where I applied, they asked me if I'll still consider them if they made a counter offer. Of course I said yes, and now I'm waiting if they will match what my employer offered to me. The compensation package is ok and complete with benefits, though I wish that gold coins are included in the compensation :D/ Kidding aside, I really am thinking things over and I pray that whatever decision I will make, I won't regret it for it is where I will grow and it is something that I really like. Wish me luck!

Planning A Trip

My sister makes sure that she goes out of the country at least once per year. She works in an airline company and part of their benefit is a free airfare on wherever destination as long as they have flight there. The rest of the expenses are personal like visas, tours, and accommodations. She’s been to several countries already like Canada, New Zealand, United States, Australia, France, Italy, Ireland, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Brunei, and many more. This year, she’s planning again on europe tours by September. She said she hasn’t seen much of Europe yet when she went there a couple of years ago and wants to avail of their national parks tours to be able to know more about the different European countries. She wants to check out the italy tours for she only saw Rome, Pisa, Milan and Venice the last time she was there. I’m really happy for my sister because she gets to travel on different places. I have only been to 4 different countries and I dream of visiting Europe too! My husband was able to see Europe already when he went there for work and he said he wants to see it again because he was not able to see the place much. He only saw the airport, the hotel and their meeting place. I do hope we get to visit Europe together in the future! :)

We Need A Vacation

I've been looking for family vacation packages that we can avail ourselves of when my husband gets back from his work out of town. He's been away for two weeks and he said that he might be home by next week.  Knowing him, I'm sure he'll only allow us to go for a vacation if I present to him options for affordable family vacations and I hope he'll approve what I'll show him. I've been checking family vacation destinations like the Breezes Resorts because we really need to have quality time together and I'm sure this vacation is what we need.

The advantage of these vacations is that they are all inclusive and include everything our family will need for a totally fun and relaxing vacation. Its great to vacation with children when you don't have to think about how much every little thing will cost. There is nothing more bothersome than shelling out money every time your child wants a drink or a snack. Also it is great to go to a resort that has activities organized for children. There are things for the to do to keep them busy while mom and dad relax, and also great things for the family to do together.

I hope my husband agrees with my vacation choice as I a ready to pack my bags as soon as he gets back.

House Plans and More!

During my spare time, I’ve been looking at available house plans online. My sister-in-law is thinking of finding a home for her parents when they decide to settle down here. I didn't know what kind of house floor plans would be available online, but I have to say I was delighted with what I found at HousePlansandMore.com of HDA, Inc. I was able to check out several plans almost instantly. They have several thousands of house plans to choose from. If you would like to save some time to narrow your search to find the right house plan just type in how big you want the area of your home to be (in square feet), the number of bedrooms, full and half baths, garage bays, and how many floors, then they’ll choose plans that meet your criteria. They also have a handy tool that will estimate how much it will cost to build your home based on the area where you live. And that’s just the basic quick search, which doesn't take any time at all! Wait until you check out the advanced search. If you already know some features you need, using the advanced search can really help you trim down the choices to find the home plan that is right for you. Another thing I like about the site is they’re not limited by the architectural style in the plans they offer. They have traditional, Victorian, contemporary, Spanish, and so many more house plans to choose from. This site makes it so easy to find a good home plan, that I think I might one day like to have a home that is built to my specifications and not just buy a house designed for someone else.

It's So Hot!!!!

That’s what I used to hear from my son every day for the past two months since it’s summer here in my part of the world. And if you are here, I’m sure you will be complaining the same way my son did because we all really had to bear with the excruciating heat! And yes that’s the effect of global warming. Summer season tends to be very hot and there’s so much rain (compared to before) during rainy season. We’re just thankful that we have air conditioning at home, but we only use it at night because we don’t want to our electricity bill to rise so high that we may not be able to pay it. :D Anyway, our a/c system is currently working so we don’t have to find a repair person during the hot season. Finding an a/c service person when the weather is really hot can often be difficult and frustrating. I have heard there are some great a/c service companies, depending on where you live. For example there is an arizona air conditioning service company that promises the fastest response to emergency repairs in the Phoenix area. It would be great to know of a company like that! This arizona air conditioning repair company also promises they will show up when they say or you don't pay. How great is that? No more waiting and waiting for a service person to show up. You can also get maintenance and installation service from arizona ac. I’m just glad that it’s July now and is not as hot as before. There are some rains already but there are times that it’s still hot. As long as our a/c system holds out we will do just fine. We try to do regular maintenance for our a/c system before the heat arrives, that saves us the discomfort of waiting for a repair at the busiest a/c repair time of the year. Right now we are still using our a/c at night, but we shorten the hours to save on electricity. I just hope that global warming doesn't make the summers any hotter.

Scrubs

One of my friends who is a registered nurse working abroad recently came home for a vacation. We were all so happy to see her again and we were glad to see that she is doing so well, even if she’s away from family and friends. We haven’t seen her in a long time and she really decided to make her presence felt when she got here by giving us all presents. The presents ranged from handbags, blouses, wallets, make-up, and notebooks. We didn't need gifts as we were just so happy to see her, but I have to say we were delighted that she had been so thoughtful. It felt like Christmas! I got two items from her, a bag and a blouse, and both are great! Anyhow, my friend's vacation here is packed full and her schedule is really tight. She’ll be going out of town to visit one of the famous beaches here, and when she comes back she said she needs to take some time to buy some scrub uniforms for work. She was so busy before she left buying gifts for use, she didn't get around to it. I asked her if she knew where to buy scrubs here, since she had not been here in so long. She said that wasn't a problem because she usually buys her scrubs online as she has found a website that has a great selection at really good prices. She thinks if she orders them from here, they will be waiting at her home when she gets back. My friend says this is a great time saver for her and it is just so convenient :)

Typhoon!

The country is recovering now from the typhoon that hit us last Tuesday night.  We were not able to sleep well that night because we were scared that it will be another Ondoy and there's no electricity anymore that we can't prepare well if ever since it's so dark.  Another reason that I'm scared is that Paul is still in Davao and we don't have any male in the house except for Lance.  We're thankful that the typhoon is more on wind and not rain but it still left several damages in the country that resulted to blackouts in almost entire Luzon.  Ours was restored last night at 12 midnight.  I just pray that everyone that was affected by the typhoon will be able to recover soon and I pray too that there won't be storms as bad as Ondoy in the coming months.

Grade School Assignment

My cousin who is currently in grade three called me up yesterday asking for help for her assignment in school. She said her dad is out of town visiting a relative and her mom is out of town too for work. She said she doesn't know who can help her and was just trying her luck by calling me. I was touched that she thought of me so I decided to help her. One of the assignments is about math and we were able to solve the problems right away. After that we answered her English assignment and I thought that was it. But after that, she said she needs to find self-hardening clays for their art class. I have no idea what she's talking about because we didn't have that during our time so I checked on the net and researched. There I found out everything about clay, the different sculpting compounds and slump molds. It was also mentioned there that you can find a large selection of Clay art supplies at Amaco. So I told my cousin of what I saw in the net and she was really thankful for all my efforts. I told her she can always count on me if there's something she needs in school. I'm sure in the future, my son will be asking for my help for his assignments too! :)

School and Art

Lance has been going to school for three weeks already. He is enjoying his time there and I always look forward everyday when I get home from work to listen to his stories on what he did in school that day. I’m really glad he enjoys school because that’s all we really want for now. I also look forward to Fridays because that’s when he takes home this blue envelope containing all the things he did in school for that week and also if there are assignments for the following week and circulars that the parents need to know about the school. Just like yesterday, his blue envelope contains all the art works he did in school. It also contains art lesson plans which include classroom ceramics and the like. I remember one of his art works wherein he painted the drawing of their school in red. They did it on their first day of school and I saw him while he was painting that. They also look cute when they do art works because they are wearing an apron. :) Anyhow, I don’t know if the school will provide ceramic art education to these kids but I just hope that they will really learn the love for art.

On Uniforms

School days for me started when my son went to school last Monday. He was excited to wear his uniform polo shirt. I’m glad it was made of nice material so that he will feel comfortable. It is also easy to care for which is also great for me. I was with him on his first day and I’m really happy that he enjoyed it. The hall was full of parents watching their children and I’m sure every single parent felt the same way I did. Happy, excited and proud for our children! This is really a milestone for them and I really hope that my son will enjoy his first school year. He was greeting each teacher he sees with good morning and he was smiling at them. The teachers, all women, were wearing women’s work shirts as they, like the students, are required to wear uniforms. I noticed that their uniform shirts are made of light / cotton material and look professional but comfortable and approachable. The teachers get their uniforms from iD by Landau, and once my son is older he will be able to buy his uniform polo shirt from them as well. iD by Landau have many different types of stylish uniforms for hotel and restaurant workers, and they also supply a good variety of corporate uniforms. This reminds me, I should recommend them to our HR since they are looking for uniform work shirts for the employees of our subsidiary. This company is perfect for them!

Missing the Husband

Here I am still awake and can’t find time to sleep. I might as well finish my task and write something about quicktrim before I get sleepy. Anyhow, it’s been more than two weeks since Paul went out of town for a project. I miss him already especially the kids. Both of them are asking me or calling on their daddy and I just tell them that daddy is at work. I miss him too probably because I don’t know when he will be back so I have not prepared myself and kept on hoping that he’ll be home soon, unlike when he went out of the country wherein I know he’ll be home in like two or three weeks. With this current project, he can’t tell when they will finish it so it makes me miss him more. Hayzz…

Disgusting

I looked at myself in the mirror after taking a bath this morning and I wished I did not do it. I saw how big I am especially when I saw the cellulites on my things. Arrgghh… I kept on searching the net on how to reduce the cellulites on the thighs without spending too much and I saw articles that talk about cellulite gel. The article sounds convincing and now I’m looking for this gel and hopefully it is good as what it says in the write-up. Hope I can find one soon.

Buying A House

My parents are going home for good at the end of the year and they are thinking of buying a house. They asked us to check if the house we are currently renting is for sale since they are interested in buying it. We already asked the owners and are just waiting for their reply. I hope he replies soon so that we can discuss the home plans. In case the owner won’t sell the house, we need to search for a different house. I’m hoping that it’s still within the area or at least on one of the villages near our area so that it will be near Lance’s school. But I think my sister prefers to buy a house in the southern area. Anyhow, we told my parents that we can’t contribute with the finances but showed them the homes plans we saw online. It can give an estimated cost based on the size of the lot, the number of bedrooms, how many floors, the number of bathrooms, and size of the garage. I just talked to my parents earlier and they said they’ll wait for the reply of the owner before they decide. In the meantime, they asked us to continue checking the house floor plans we found online. I have mixed emotions on my parents coming home. The place where they are is not polluted it is gentle on my mom’s asthma and I’m concerned about their health. On the other hand, I’m happy also because I miss them so much and it’s really about time that they rested and enjoyed their golden years hopefully in their dream house.

Insurance

Our topic now in twitter is about insurance.  One friend is inquiring on what insurance she should get for her children and for her and her husband.  A friend shared the insurance she got for her daughter and another one shared the quotation she got from her agent.  It's really very interesting since we all have to think about the future and receiving information and data on different insurance really helps.  Some shared life insurance leads while others shared health, or educational plans, etc.  I still don't have any insurance for my children and I really want to get one for them.  I do hope we will be able to find something that suits our taste and budget.

Outdoor Furniture

I mentioned before that I have a friend who just got married and recently had their house constructed. I was told that they plan to have a swimming pool also and they are looking for outdoor furniture that could be placed by the pool. He was hoping to have something like the one in the picture but he is not sure if it will fit his budget. So now, they are checking the cost and hopefully will be able to have everything they want in their dream house.

Couches

I was talking to my mom last weekend asking how we're doing and how is Lance's school.  After our usual updates to each other, she asked me if I know a site in the internet that has modern couches for they need it for my uncle's den in the house where they are staying.  She said they; my parents and my uncle, checked out some stores already but my uncle didn't like the designs on the stores they visited.  I gave her a site that my friend shared to me and she said she'll show it to my uncle.  I do hope they can find one there that will suit their taste.

Furniture Shopping

I was chatting with my friend who got married last Sunday on how they are doing the first days of their married life.  He said they are doing ok and are busy fixing their house.  He said they still have to buy a few furniture for their house like tv stands, dining table, etc.  He said they have a couch and bed already but there's still a lot that they need to buy for their house.  We're really happy for them and we look forward to visiting them in their new house.

My Eyes

Last Monday, my officemate asked me if I had enough sleep the night before because I looked like a zombie.  She said that my eyes are so dark that I should put something to hide it. She also said that there are wrinkles around my eyes so I better start doing something.  I then searched on the net and found a prototype 37c review which talks about the ingredients and benefits of using the cream.  I should probably get one soon so that I won't look like a zombie anymore.

Getting Slimmer

Last Sunday, I met some of my high school friends for the wedding of one of our batch mate.  I picked up my friend H at their house and I was impressed on how slim she is now.  And when I asked her about it, she said she's taking the best diet supplements and even recommended it because it really worked wonders on her.  She gave me a pack and I'm really hoping I'll achieve the same results as hers.  Wish me luck! :)
