I can just imagine what she’s going through right now. I have an uncle who also suffered the same fate. He was hospitalized for a long time and we visited him almost everyday and we even have shifts on who will take care of him on certain days. When he was so ill and can’t stand anymore, the doctor advised that they put a foley catheter on him. He felt so relieved when he had it and was so thankful to the doctors.
Anyway, I don’t know the real condition of our former president but I always include her in my prayers. I also pray for strength for her family that they will be ready to face and accept whatever happens.
I attended a training yesterday about hiring and retaining employees at Mandarin Hotel. It’s not actually my line of work here in our office but I’m glad they asked me to come. I learned a lot of new techniques in hiring and interviewing applicants that will fit the job requirements. At the same time, I also learned different systems in retaining employees. That is actually one of my concerns, because in my department, I have a high turn-over rate and I really want to know what is the real reason why they leave. I’ll try to coordinate with HR if we can apply the tools taught in the training and hopefully will be able to hire people that will stay on and also retain the ones on board already.
I can't believe I made it till the end. I'm talking about the Walk the Talk that the Lopez Group had last Saturday at Forest Hills in Antipolo. I joined in the walk for I really need to lose weight and i badly need exercise. My officemates said it's fun to join in the walk and it's near our place pa that's why i decided to come. And yes it was fun! While we were walking, we thought we can't make it to the finish line but when we saw some employees going back na, meaning they reched the 4km mark and walking back na to complete the 8km walk, that challenged me and I told my colleagues that we can make it too. Besides there's no time limit so it's ok if it will take us longer. We were really the last group to finish because some of those people behind us did not walk back to the base anymore. Some asked the services of the ambulance to take them back for they can't walk anymore. And for me, it was an accomplishment when we got to the base hehe! Although after the walk, I felt so tired and I can't walk properly anymore. But still having finished the 8km walk is something! I can't wait till the next schedule!
si manong straw the 4km mark
enjoying my lugaw after the walk
|You Can Be Deeply Passionate Sometimes|
You like people, but you're careful about who you get close to. Friendship is important to you... so important that you aren't just friends with anyone.
You fall in love with ease and confidence. Even if you've had bad experiences in the past, each new love is a reason to start completely over.
You are deeply passionate about several things in your life. You're not passionate about much... and the few passions you have are truly obsessions.
Your sense of humor is goofy and silly. You are good at making almost anyone laugh.
Last Friday, people from Slimmer’s world visited our office to orient us about their gym and at the same time conducted an orientation on the importance of exercise. The speaker also talked about stress and its causes and also the importance of taking care of our skin. They also brought equipment that we can apply on for free. They brought equipment that helps in the blood circulation and also a machine to check your face for whiteheads, blackhead or any other problems in the skin. When it was my turn, the consultant said I have a few white heads and a slight discoloration on the right side of my cheeks. She also said not to worry for its just minor and can be addressed by applying creams. Anyway, what I’m excited about is that I’ll be going back to the gym. I signed up for one year membership because their offer is too irresistible. It’s very affordable and I know I really need to lose weight so I did not waste time and signed up right away. I hope with this membership, I’ll be able to come back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Wish me luck!
The sink in our bathroom is leaking. I noticed it a few days ago and Lance’s nanny asked me to buy an adhesive to stop the leak. She also told me to check out some faucets since the one we have in our laundry area needs replacement. I told her I’ll do it as soon as I go to the mall. For now, we just place a pail under the sink to collect the water.
We had dinner last night at Dampa, Cubao. One of my officemates treated us last night so who are we to say no. She just said she wants to eat at dampa and asked everybody in our floor to go so off we went. We had ensaladang mangga, calamares, crablets, inihaw na tilapia, sinigang na maya-maya, baked tahong and my all time favorite buttered shrimp. Sayang we were not able to take any photo for as soon as the food arrived, everybody started eating. I ate so much that I felt dizzy after eating hehe! I think I had 3 cups of rice arrgghhh… And since I’m dizzy, I decided to wait for Paul in Gateway so that we can take the cab together. Haayy… I really love dampa!
Whenever I go out with my friends, I often notice how fashionable they are compared to me. I often joke that I maybe a male during my past life since I really don’t know anything about fashion hehe! My friends know the latest trend, and were really good on how to mix and match their clothes with their accessories. I on the other hand always go for the classic style. I don’t even use accessories, I just wear a pair of earrings, a watch and a simple bracelet and that’s it. I really admire my friends for they really know the latest trend and where to get those. They even know jewelers that can provide cutting-edge designs at a very affordable price, just like Holsted Jewelers. They have wide variety to choose from that will fit whatever you’re wearing, from casual to formal wear. Plus they are very affordable and you’re assured of its good quality. I’ll start browsing the site, who knows, I might start buying from them soon!
Anyway, here’s a pic of me with good friends Vangie and Gen during the break. :)
That’s because the lower set of my teeth hurts like crazy and I can’t eat well. As mentioned here, I have braces again to close the gap on my lower teeth. I was not able to eat well during dinner last night and the same thing happened this morning during breakfast. I only get a small portion of the food since I can hardly chew it. As much as I want to eat more, my teeth hurt so much. Despite the pain, one advantage that I have to think is that having these braces will help me in losing weight.

So for the updates, Paul is busy with his work now and I seldom get to talk to him. He often gets home by 9pm and usually he’s too tired that he’d rather go to sleep or play with Lance. And also sometimes when he gets home, I feel sleepy already so we don’t get to talk so much. Even last weekend, we were not able to spend time for he needs to go to Baguio for a client. I miss him :(
As for me, I’m busy with work too and I wonder when our HR will get the staff I need. I have tons of work to do and there are times that I also need to go on field so I leave behind more work to do. I still haven’t lost weight and I’m thinking of waking up early and do my exercise while the kids are still asleep. Hopefully I’ll be able to do that. :)
On Lance, I think he gained weight again. He knows what he wants and there are times that he’ll ask us to buy the food that he wants to eat. It’s funny coz he’ll really ask you to give him what he wants. These are some of his words: “buy ice cream, eat chocolate, buy lucky me, eat CDO” etc. hehe! His current favorites are Spiderman and star wars. And he also likes to watch “meet the Robinsons” and “Hole in the wall” hehe! He calls girls with pig tails “loser yaya” hahaha! He’s also makulit most of the time and cries so loud when we don’t give him what he wants.
Hannah turns 9 months today. She’s growing up fast and is showing her attitude hehe! When she wants something, she’s determined to get it by all means. And she’ll pout or cry when she did not get what she wants. She loves seeing her kuya play that sometimes she’d rather play with him than go to sleep. And this often causes her and her nanny to fight haha!
I have a few more stories to tell but that will be for another post. Just want to give you an update on how we’re doing. I’ll leave with you a picture of us taken last Father’s Day. That’s our latest family picture (Lance was not in the mood for picture taking) :)
