Whew! How soon time flies! It’s been a month since we got married. Let me share with you our wedding day. Won’t be sharing with you anymore our love story. But if you want to know about it, visit our wedsite at http://mariaana.fil.ph/PaulAndToni/ you will see there each other’s version of our love story.
Okay, so here goes our wedding day kwento… my mahabang wedding kwento. I watched the video muna para I can give the blow by blow account of our wedding. We checked in early at the hotel. My family got there at 8:30am while Paul’s family checked in at 10am. Don’t want to spend the night there kaya we checked in on the day itself. Pwede naman since afternoon yung wedding and mas tipid since one day lang! Hehehe! My make up artist is the first supplier to arrive at 9am. Sakto sa call time. When he got there with his assistant, he started agad with setting our hairs. Then, one by one our suppliers arrived. Next to arrive is cecil’s assistant, she brought my gown and accessories, all the gowns of my ento and my mom’s gown. Galing nga eh. Mag isa lang sya and nadala niya lahat yon! Followed by my coordinator, then our florist, then our photographer. I can’t explain how I felt when we were at the hotel na. Excited, tensed, happy, and a lot of emotions talaga! Sama-sama na!
When everyone was getting dressed, my make up artist naman is working in making me beautiful on my special day. Medyo na-tense pa nga ako coz I thought we’re behind our schedule. Pero di naman pala, we still have time for picture taking and all those stuff. Kakatuwa coz while he’s doing my make up, I can see one by one my entourage and ang gaganda nila! Kakatuwa also when I saw my mom coz she looked really pretty! Cecil and Rod did a great job. My dad nga was telling me, mas maganda pa daw mom ko kesa sa kin eh ako yung kakasal! Hehehe! Finally, done na make up ko! It’s time na for picture taking. So pose dito, pose don! Kaya pala di ko piniling career ang pag artista, hirap magproject sa camera! Buti na lang Mang Emil is coaching me on what to do so ayos lang! Then, when I was getting dressed, the photographers naman went to Paul’s room for his turn for picture taking. Buti na lang mga 2 rooms away lang sila from our room kaya mabilis lang. Then bumalik na sila sa room namin. Mang Emil took a lot of pictures of me, my family, parents, entourage, etc. We had so much fun during the photo session (addict sa picture!) We also had fun when it was time for my shoot with our flower girls. Seems like the flower girls are not in the mood for picture taking. No, they’re not crying but they’re not smiling too! I don’t know if they’re shy or they’re just not in the mood on that moment. Kakatuwa coz I can hear my ento and the parents of my flower girls coaching them to smile, pose, etc. Buti na lang towards the end, they gave in. Naka-smile na sila!
Then off we went to the church. Before going there, picture taking ulit sa staircase ng hotel. Hirap maging artista! When I got to the lobby, they asked me pa to hide coz Paul is outside waiting for his car. Tago daw muna para di niya ako makita at ma-excite mamaya sa paglakad ko sa aisle. Our wedding is at 4pm at the Malate Church and since Pavilion is near the church, we left at 3:30. After 4 traffic lights, we reached the church. My parents went out of the car to greet friends and relatives while I waited in the bridal car. Medyo tensed na naman and excited. Buti na lang, makwento yung driver ng car. He made kwento para naman ma-at ease ako before walking down the aisle. Finally, I can hear them starting na with the procession. Then it’s my time to get off the car. Kitte helped me go down tapos nag closed door na yung church. Cecil was there to fix my gown and my veil. He made sure na I’ll look pretty when I walk. Tapos nag open na door ng church. Sayang kasi mali yung cue ng coordinator. Nauna yung pag open ng door kaya medyo di na masyado dramatic ang entrance ko. But just the same, happy pa din! So when I heard the song played, I started walking. Eto yung talagang kakaibang feeling! Ang sarap, nakaka-excite at di mo maintindihan. Tapos when I got to the middle aisle, there I saw my parents (about to cry) waiting for me. Then we walked together to meet my groom. I can hear some people say “o huwag iiyak!!!” I guess, my parents really can’t avoid getting teary eyed. So do I. Buti na lang di ako naiyak when I saw Paul at the end of the aisle. So ayun, andon na kami sa end, I kissed my parents then walked with Paul na. (Kainis nga coz I forgot to kiss Paul’s dad). One step pa lang kami ni Paul, I can’t walk na, yun pala my mom stepped on my gown kaya di ako makalakad. Tapos on my second step, I can’t walk again. My mom stepped naman on my veil. Sabi nga ng uncle ni Paul, “Naku! Ayaw ibigay ng nanay!” hehehe! Finally, we reached our seat at the altar.
The ceremony went fine and I love the sermon of the priest. Was really listening to him and learned from what he said. Then the usual ceremony went on and then the final blessing. After that the priest said “It is my privilege to present to you Mr. and Mrs. Paul Steven Tadeo”. Yes!!! We’re married. When we faced the people, they were all smiling and clapping their hands. Tapos we signed the contract and had picture taking with the priest. Oh wait, did you miss something there? After ng picture taking with the priest, that’s when lang Paul removed my veil for the traditional “you may now kiss the bride”. Hehehe! Blooper talaga! San ka naman nakakita na kinasal na at nag sign ng contract at nagpa-picture pa na meron pang veil? Hehehe! We don’t know din kasi kung kelan ba yon gagawin! So ayun, finally our first kiss as a couple! Sarap! Tapos the traditional picture taking followed and then we walked outside na. Our guests were waiting at the front of the church to throw petals, poppers, etc.
Then off we went to roxas boulevard and baywalk for picture taking again. Thank God for good weather. We had wonderful pictures there and a great picture too with the sunset. Tapos people were looking at us pero kami deadma lang. Tapos before we got in the bridal car, a councilor approached us and ask for picture taking. He’ll use it daw somewhere, di ko alam kung saan. Then we went na to the hotel!
When we got to the hotel, picture taking ulit at the staircase, this time with Paul na. Tapos when we got to the ballroom, I heard abie said. “Let’s all welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tadeo.” Was so glad to see the reception area. Mang Boy did a great job with the flowers and I also like the simple set up that the hotel prepared. Tapos the program began starting with a prayer from my niece, Margo. Picture taking with the guest per table followed then dinner. Was so happy to hear that everyone loved the food. Sayang di kami masyado nakakain! At least ako, I was able to taste the food when we had food tasting last December. Si Paul di natikman lahat. Soup lang yata, vegetables and pasta yung nakain niya! The rest of the menu, hindi na. We can see everyone having a great time. And we’re happy for that.
Tapos after dinner, the program resumed with a song number from my cousin Jane accompanied by her boyfriend Joseph. Tapos cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss followed. Then our first dance. We really didn’t prepare that much for our dance. We don’t have time to practice since Paul got here only a week before the wedding. We just want to hold and hug each other during our dance. Sayang nga coz they played a different version of “The Way You Look Tonight”. I still need to ask how it happened. Then came the speech of both our dads, they shared lessons and advices to both of us. Then our speech. A lot of people said they cried during our speech. I guess it’s because we were crying too. Our relationship was put to test weeks before our wedding that it almost reached a point that we’re going to postpone our wedding. We were just really grateful that we survived that test kaya those tears were tears of joy and happiness.
After our speech, end of the program na. Some people stayed to share more time with us and took some pictures too tapos the others left na. We really had a great time. People that mattered to us were there to share our special day. A lot of people congratulated us for a great wedding and I believe we really had a great one! There may be some glitches but still it was wonderful! To top it all, we’re married and that’s the most important thing!
Now, we’ve reached our first month! Paul and I may not spend it together physically coz he left for Taiwan for work, but in our hearts, we can feel the joy and love of being husband and wife. Looking forward to thousands of months to share. Sana on our second month, we can spend it na together, as in physically we’re together! I miss you honey! Luv you so much!
