Our Sunday

We were at the mall yesterday shopping for the kids. We needed new school shoes for Lance and a blouse for Hannah to pair with the skirt she got as a present. It was around noon on a rainy Sunday so it all contributed to the traffic jam to the mall plus the full parking area so we had to look for another parking area. Fortunately, we saw a spot almost immediately when we entered the lot. When we got to the mall, we made a beeline to the kids’ shoe section. One thing we noticed was there were a lot of insurance agents there giving out brochures for life insurance. Anyway, true enough, there were lots of people shopping for the coming school year that it was difficult to traverse the floor especially if you have a couple of kids in tow. We settled on the first display stand we saw and picked out a couple of styles and asked for Lance’s shoe size. Good thing that we didn’t have to wait long for the shoes to arrive. After getting the shoes, we proceeded to the kids’ wear for Hannah’s blouse. Toni looked around for a suitable blouse and the kids and I stayed at the Marvel booth where they had a TV showing the trailers of Thor and Captain America. Toni saw a few blouses so we had to choose the one we liked the most. Toni and I both liked a particular blouse, Hannah liked it too that she wanted to look at herself in the mirror wearing it. We figured that the kids were getting hungry from all the walking that after shopping we stopped by McDonald’s to get a bite before heading home. That was how we spent our Sunday.

A Grassroots Solution

While walking home from church, I noticed that some of the slots for the drainage near our garage were clogged with soil. I immediately knew how it happened. The house we’re renting has a garage with a gravel bed with bare soil underneath. After years of use plus the annual rains, the gravel has almost washed completely away, exposing the soil. So when it rains, the soil would erode and find its way out of the house to the drainage which it has clogged to a degree. I figure that to solve this permanently, we would have to cement the whole garage or a cheaper alternative is to put grass to minimize soil erosion. I don’t mind cutting grass, I could get a cutter at toro mowers for that job.

Out of Town Trip Again

Our company president called me this afternoon and told me that I’ll be going with him to Camarines Norte on the first week of June to have a demo with one of the mayors there. He scheduled 3 days only, 2 of which will be spent for travelling and 1 day for the demo. I’m both excited and scared for this trip. Excited because the town really needs the product we are offering and I do hope the mayor will pursue his plans of providing potable water to the towns. I’m scared at the same time because the weather there is always rainy and most of the time they have typhoons. I just hope and pray for a safety trip and that it will be a fruitful one. :)

Worse Than Ever

The kids are finally asleep, so now it’s time for my nightly routine. Watch the episodes of the TV shows I follow regularly. It’s gone on so regularly that my eye bags have become worse than ever. I need to get some type of dark circles under eyes treatment to lighten my skin. I expect to stay up even later now because the storylines of those shows are getting more and more interesting.

Candice's 1st Birthday

My inaanak Candice celebrated her birthday last April 17 at the Renaissance Tower in Ortigas. Her theme is cartoons and kids were encouraged to wear costume for whoever has the best costume gets a reward. My kids though did not wear costume and I just made them wear character shirts. What a good mom I am huh hehe!

Anyhow, the party is great! Of course my kids had a great time and it was fun to see also the kids of my colleagues. We don’t have family day in the office and the only way we see each other’s kids are through parties like these. The place is decorated well and the kids look great on their costumes. What I don’t like lang in the party is their host/magician. His games are ok but when it was time for his magic tricks, there are some errors or failures. But just the same, my kids and all the other kids love him so what more can I ask for.

Happy happy birthday again Candice and I wish you grow up as pretty as your mom and your ninang! :D

Not There Yet

I definitely know I’m not at that stage yet but I’ve read some articles about andropause. It’s essentially similar to menopause for women, but for men. This is due to the slow but steady reduction of the hormones – like testosterone – that middle aged men produce. I’m still far from it but it’s just comforting to know that there are ways to naturally increase testosterone. If only there are ways to store the ones you can produce now and save it for future use.

Lola Ingga's 100th Birthday

Another long overdue post. Last April 16, we all went to Batangas to attend the 100th birthday celebration of Lola Ingga. Lola Ingga is the aunt of our uncle so technically she’s not really our relative but since we’re a close knit family, it’s as if she’s our lola too plus seldom do we meet a person who reaches 100 years old right?

Anyhow, the celebration started with a mass and then lunch was served to everybody and I think almost everyone in town is invited. Lola Ingga is amazing! She can still remember some stuff and she’s also strong in some ways. She can push herself while on a wheelchair and you can still talk to her.

I hope if ever I’ll reach that age, the people taking care of me won’t have a hard time, just like Lola Ingga. Happy 100th birthday again!

Viable Option

I’ve been quite busy for the last few weeks pouring over the local job market trying to find a job that is suited for my skills and interests. I have found some and submitted my resume to several companies already. Another option I’m considering is to look for sales jobs in the field I’d like to transfer to. I’m a bit apprehensive of this direction but with the proper exposure and training, I believe this could be a viable option.

Uno's 1st Birthday

My cousin Iza invited us to his son’s first birthday party held at Lazer Extreme at Market Market. It was really good to see my cousins again from my mom’s side. The theme was Ben10 and we were asked to wear green, black or white and so Paul and I wore green shirts, Lance wore a black shirt and Hannah a white shirt. Too bad we don’t have a family picture.

Both kids enjoyed the party and it was also Lance’s first time to play the piƱata game. He was not able to hit it but we were happy that he now joins the game and is not shy anymore. The party was over after three hours since the venue rental of course includes playing the lazer game. Unfortunately, Paul and I can’t join in the game since the kids are with us and we have no yaya. So we just went home after the party. Happy 1st birthday again Uno!

Start of Something New

Toni and her sister were just discussing what time they’ll wake up tomorrow morning. You see, they’re both planning to do some brisk walking and running every morning starting tomorrow. They both want to lose weight and shed inches from their figures. There’s an awful lot of diet pills in the market, and if ever they use one, I think it’s best if they look for the best diet pills for women as it is specially formulated for their bodies. Speaking of losing weight and shedding inches, maybe I should join them also.

Big Bruisers

We just got back from our weekly trip to the grocery. Anyway, on our way home we passed by the gym in our street. There was a group of hulking guys – all with Thor-like bodies - hanging around just outside the gym. It made me think how they were able to achieve such physique, if they used supplements like in www.bestcreatinesupplements.org. Whatever they did, it surely works.
