The Journey Continues...

Today is our annual physical exam here in the office. All are required to undergo the exam; cbc, urinalysis, fecalysis, xray, etc. And there are additional exams for management team; ecg, blood exam, CA125 and other terms that I can’t remember anymore. There is also an optometrist to check our eyes. What we don’t have are dentists. The employees were advised to go to accredited dentists like orthodontist, Plano cosmetic dentist or just a regular dentist to have their teeth checked and we just have to forward the results to our HR. I’m done with my exam today; I just have to schedule my visit to the dentist. I hope the results of all the tests are normal. :)

It’s just that I haven’t eaten in these restos in a long time and these four cuisines are my favorites. I hope Paul will be in Makati anytime next week so that we can eat here together.

Last Christmas vacation, most people here in my part of the world were indeed on vacation. But not for me and Paul. The kids’ nannies took a vacation and so we were left with the kids. Not that we’re complaining. Those two weeks that we were by ourselves really made us bond with them and we saw how both of them behave. Anyhow, I was telling Paul that we haven’t had a family vacation yet and this summer is a great time to spend it. We can go to the white sand beaches of Riviera Maya and stay at wonderful hotels like Karisma hotel. I’m sure we will be enjoying their great and luxurious accommodations and sumptuous cuisine. If only we can afford it. Hehe! Paul hasn’t given me the approval yet if we can go on vacation this summer. Let’s wait and see.

Yesterday, my boss talked to me and told me that our President wants us to have a company newsletter again. She said that I’ll be in-charge of the newsletter and I should make it a part of my department’s project. I then discussed this with my staff and so this morning, I sent her my proposed topics, action plans and the corresponding timeline. She said that they’ll have a management committee meeting tomorrow and she’ll present to them what I emailed her and we’ll see what happens next. I have many plans for my dept this year and this new project though not so much related to what we really do is a challenge we’re eager to face. Bring it on!

Whenever I go to the gym, I always see those men with really big muscles. My friends and I sometimes joke about them that they look like bouncers in clubs. They really have big muscles that sometimes I wonder if they apply testosterone cream to help their muscles pump that way. Anyway, I’ll be going to the gym again today after 3 months. I’m excited coz today is my favorite gym day because there’s belly dancing class and I’ll be using my coin hip scarf for the first time. I hope this year I’ll be able to go to the gym regularly.

I was watching a tv show last night and I noticed that most celebrities look young, their wrinkles don’t show despite their old age. Maybe they apply products like those from www.olayregenerist.org to help them look young especially when wrinkles starts to show off. It’s difficult when you’re a celebrity; you have to look nice all the time because people always have their eyes on you. Thank God I’m not a celebrity; I might not be able to handle the pressure nyahaha!

…especially my mom. The last time she was here was January last year for our grand family reunion. My dad was here naman last November for my uncle’s death anniversary and at the same time to check on us since we were affected by Ondoy. Thanks to technology, we get to talk to them online (though this is very seldom) or when they call us on the phone every weekend. Last night, they called us to check how we’re doing especially my kids since both came from cough and colds the previous week. I was not able to talk to them that much because I was putting Hannah to sleep when they called. They just talked to my sister and according to my sis, my dad sometimes complain of joint pains that he needs a joint pain relief to lessen the pain. But other than that, both of them are doing ok. I do hope they have travel plans this year so that we get to see them again.

I really don’t have one. I don’t use make-up when I go to work simply because I don’t know how to apply it haha! I just put powder and lipstick and wash them with soap and water. I also don’t visit my dermatologist that often, I only get to see her when I feel like my face needs beauty treatment although some of my friends said that I can get the best natural acne treatment without consulting a dermatologist. I haven’t tried it yet, maybe next time I’ll ask my friends where to get it and who knows I might end up using it regularly.

We will have our company’s annual physical exam on Friday. People here have been talking and teasing one another on what will be the result of the tests that will be conducted. And some of them fear that they are either obese or overweight and that the doctor might advise them to take appetite suppressants to help them with their diet. We’ll see what will happen on Friday.

First week of the year and we had some expenses already. Lance was confined at the hospital but we’re thankful for my company’s HMO that we only paid the excess from my coverage. Some other expenses that we’re preparing are for lance’s schooling this January while my sister is looking for the cheapest car insurance since her insurance is expiring already. I really hope that this year will be a great year for us despite starting the year with Lance getting sick and being confined at the hospital. There are other things to look forward to like my friend’s wedding in which Paul, Lance and I will be part of the sponsors. And like what I said, Lance will go to school this coming school year. I am praying for a great year this year. :)
