I’ll be reporting to our Makati office tomorrow morning to sign some documents needed for work. Since I usually go with my sister-in-law if I need to go to Makati, I’m sure I’ll be at our office early – like first-one-in-the-office-early. And because of this, I just might sit right outside the front door while I wait for the early birds to arrive. I have neither the key nor the access card for the office. Security is different from the home alarm. Ours works something like an RFID. And the Laguna and Makati office have different codes. Not only that, where I work, I’d need to go through two of those security points. I just hope I don’t lose or misplace my access card.
Grocery Day
Yesterday was grocery day for Toni and me. Since there was a new Puregold branch that opened near our house, that’s where we decided to go. Prices were indeed lower there than the other stores nearby. Only problem is it’s a bit small so it might not carry all items you may need. We also went to the hardware store to buy a nightlight for our room. Well, it’s not a real nightlight. It’s just a small 5W CFL coupled to an adapter from receptacle to outlet. I actually didn’t know such an adapter existed until I saw one at work. I’m glad that the hardware we went to was like a light fixture store and carried the item.

Beauty Regimen
I really don’t have any hahaha! I visit a salon only if I need a haircut and I go to work with just powder on my face and that’s it. But a few weeks ago, I purchased a sample make-up kit and hopefully I’ll be able to use it. I also plan to visit my dermatologist to ask for suggestions for a good skin care. My friends have been telling me that I always look pale and it’s about time that I apply make-up. Hehehe! Let’s see what will happen. Hopefully this could be the start of my beauty regimen. :)

That is Lance’s favorite game. He loves playing horse-horse. He pretends to be the jockey while Paul and I alternate as horses or sometimes he rides on both of our backs. Paul and I thought of bringing Lance somewhere where he can ride a real horse complete with gears such as saddle, helmet, breeches, boots, etc. and we’re sure he’s going to enjoy it. We’re thinking of going to Tagaytay next month for our anniversary and hopefully Lance will experience his first ride on a real horse. :)

On Jewelries

During one of our lunch break here at work, my colleagues and I talked about jewelries. We have an officemate whose family business is making jewelries. She discussed how an 18k gold can turns into a 14k ring and what components are normally added. Some of my officemates who are not familiar with jewelries also asked her the differences between the karats in the gold. It was a very interesting topic and we’re glad that my officemate was able to answer our questions. She was also asked where they normally get the gold. She did not answer the question directly but she said that there are gold bars like those from Monex Deposit Company who are really reliable and trustworthy that you know will provide you with real gold. She told us that if and when we decided to buy gold or invest on jewelries, we just have to make sure to get those from reputable companies such as Monex.

And now it has begun… This morning was the official weigh-in of the participants to the Lopez Group 120 Days to Wellness. I am included in the program for I really want to lose weight plus I’m on the borderline between normal and overweight. The participants from our office all went to Benpres for the weigh-in. A third-party was hired by the Lopez Group to conduct the process. They got our weight, height, waistline, hips, blood pressure and blood was also extracted from us for some laboratory works. After that, we were given a healthy breakfast. From there, the participants now have to work on how to lose weight thru exercise and healthy diet. Our HR is cooking up some activities so that we’ll all be able to achieve our desired weight. Good luck to us! Now I really need to control my diet. :)
Shopping for Clothes

Paul and I went to the mall to look for clothes that we will wear on my friend’s wedding this Saturday. I don’t have formal clothes anymore that fit me well so I have an excuse to buy a new one. Yebba! Anyhow, I saw some dresses that I really like but when I tried it on, it’s either I look too big or my bulges show. I told Paul that I’ll go to a different mall today and hopefully I’ll find one that fits me well. But we didn’t come home empty handed; we were able to buy a Barong for Paul at a very reasonable price. Hopefully later, I’ll be able to buy a dress na.
Here Comes The Baby
I have several online friends who are pregnant. Some are on their first trimester, others on second and some are just waiting to pop. Whenever we talk, the topic always includes our kids and now about pregnancy and babies. We talk about what are the important items they need to prepare for the new baby and where to buy them. A friend suggested that if in case we’ll have a baby shower, there is a site on where to buy baby gifts that are really nice. They have several styles that vary from sentimental to personalize but are still very affordable. I visited the site and true enough, the baby items are so cute and reasonably priced. I’m sure these preggy ladies will have the time of their lives shopping for their new bundle of joy. :)
Drivers

I was riding an FX on my way home last night. I just don’t understand these drivers sometimes. They don’t load or unload passengers on the designated areas. Like last night, a lady in the FX I was riding said she’ll go down at Santolan. The driver kept on moving forward and said he can’t stop yet for there are MMDAs in the area. But the area he’s referring to is the designated area for loading and unloading. And since he kept moving forward, the poor lady was able to go down far from Santolan na. Haayyy… I don’t know what’s with these drivers. The traffic rules here really sucks.

Speaking of gaming, I want a new video cards too. My PCs never had the top-of-the-line innards, just the mainstream components. That’s the reason I play titles that are three years or older. My rig couldn’t handle the requirements of those new games. Well, it’s more about the gameplay than eyecandy anyway. What’s important is that I upgrade my system soon, before Diablo 3 is released.

I’ve never had a game console. I was fine with a PC because it’s more utilitarian. But if I’m going to get a console, it will be either the Wii or the PS3. Wii for sports games and the PS3 for RPGs, and simulations. When we get these consoles, chances are Toni and I will be staying up late playing games while Lance and Hannah are asleep.

I was on field last Friday with one of the personnel s of our client. On our way back to Manila, the topic of hiking came up. It turned out that he was also into hiking and mountain climbing. The only difference was he was still doing it regularly, while my last climb was way back 2004 I think. Now I’m out of shape and badly in need of a diet. Eating is just so much fun! I think I should start to hunt for the best appetite suppressant.
Race to 120 Days

The Lopez Group of Companies once again launched a wellness program called race to 120 days. Meaning, participants are given 120 days to meet their ideal weight. Employees from different companies who were measured as obese were included in the program. I am on the overweight category but I volunteered to join so that I’ll be forced to lose weight. Hehe! According to our HR, I need to lose 3 kgs to achieve my ideal body weight. Anyhow, the program encourages all participants to lose weight the natural way. Meaning through exercise, proper diet and without taking the best diet pills. We’ll have our weigh-in next week and from there, we’ll start with work-outs, nutrition programs and whatever programs our HR prepared for the participants. At the end of 120 days, they will weigh us again to determine which team is the biggest loser. I hope our team wins, get the prize and most of all achieve the ideal weight. Good luck to us!
Hour Long Ad

Have you guys listened to the local AM radios stations lately? There are certain segments there that just make me think. It goes like this: there’s a certain health topic that they discuss on air, and they have a doctor in the studio or on the phone that talks about the topic and also answers questions from the host as well as from the listeners. Near the end of the show, they start talking about the benefits of certain brands of health supplements like Colonix and others with the doctor praising the product. All the while it was just an hour long ad. I’m just glad they have the clause “No approved therapeutic claims” at the end of the aired commercials.

It’s been a long time since Toni and I have gone camping. Actually, we haven’t gone camping since we got married. Now would be even more difficult with the kids here. One way we could address this is to go rv camping. Too bad there just aren’t enough campsites here that can accommodate rvs. That plus the rising cost of fuel. When the kids grow older, we’ll surely take them camping.
Horsing Around
For the second time in two weeks, I took a leave of absence at work because I wasn't feeling very good. This time it's different. Instead of the same old flu, I had stomach problems. I don't know where I got it, becaAuse what I've had was the same food we have here at home. But that’s okay. I probably need the rest anyway. I should just get more rest for tonight Lance would want to play horse before going to sleep. Given his energy level, if this goes on every night, I’d surely need some horse supplements.
