My Time Capsule

Abie tagged me with this. :)

Did you miss the Yahoo Time Capsule?

Yahoo launched a Time Capsule Project last year where they invited people all over the world to submit to them photos, videos, writings, poems, blogs and other important memories that they want to treasure and share to the rest of the world. The Time Capsule project is now close and will re open on March 2, 2020 for Yahoo’s 25th Anniversary.

So while waiting for the time capsule project of Yahoo to re-open, let’s make our own time capsule.

Rules:

1. Answer the question below:

If you are to leave an important memory, what would that be?

You can answer the question either by posting a picture, a video, writing a poem or whatever you think would best describe the memory that you want to share.

If there's one important memory that I would want to treasure, that would be a memory of my family. There's nothing more I can ask for. They're the best thing that ever happened to me.

First of course is my own family. Paul, Lance and I (plus of course our baby #2)

This is my family (the last time that we were complete. i'm still pregnant here with Lance)

This time Lance was born na but my brother's family migrated to another country already

2. Copy the entire list and add your name below the person who tagged you. Then tag at least 5 friends (But you can tag as many as you like) and visit their blog to let them know you tagged them.

Bloggers who shared their important memories 1.) Kaptyurd 2.) and so I am 3.) Princess Vien 4.) Princess Bela 5.) Our Journey to Life 6.) My Planet Purple 7.) Women Xplore 8.) Paul, Toni and Lance -- Bridging the Distance 9.) add your site here

I'm tagging Mhay, Lilet, Norm, Kitts and Bang

Cyberworx

Way back in college, my buddies and I were contemplating about setting up a business. Since we all knew our way around computers, that’s what we planned on putting up, a computer sales and repair shop. Once we thought of the name comes an even bigger decision, the logo. Having the right logo is critical as it could make or break your business. Since none of us had that creativity streak, it was doubly hard for us to design the logo. If only we had a logo design software like in logoyes.com, it would have been much easier to do. It has a wide variety of logos to choose from, covers just about every type of industry out there, not to mention the ease of use. Some design software has a huge number of tools you can utilize, making it even more daunting to use. Not logoyes. It only has all the necessary tools you need to design and customize your logo. The end result? A seemingly professionally designed logo for your company. And it can be done in just a matter of minutes. Here’s a sample of the logo and business card I made.

On GPS

In just a little over a month in my new job, I was asked to go to several projects in the province by road. Sometimes all we relied on was a map to guide us along the way. So we’re thinking of getting a gps tracking system for our service vehicle. We’ll have a real time representation of our current location and that we can update the database of the device. Another advantage of this is that our boss could check out our location over the internet to make sure we are where we’re supposed to be. Wait a minute…I think that’s a disadvantage.

Collections

I remember a friend who loves collecting different kinds of things. Even when we were still young, she already collected different items. From simple things such as stationery, stickers, stuff toys, angels and toys. She even has a collection of matchbox cars. She also loves to collect stamps and whenever she travels she would buy stamps to add in her collection. She even asks friends or relatives who travels to buy her stamps too.

I recently went out with her and asked her about her collections. She told me that now she’s into gold coins. She’s just starting now and only has a few coins. I told her of Monaco rare coin from which she can get those coins that she can add in her collection. They are known worldwide and they have excellent customer service. She told me she’ll check their site and see what happens. :)

It's A Girl!!!

Yup we’re having a girl!!! We’re really hoping for a girl for our second baby since we have Lance na and God granted our prayers. I had my ultrasound last Saturday and our baby was very cooperative and showed her genitals.
Sayang lang because I was alone during the ultrasound. Paul hasn’t come back yet from Naga so it was just me who went to the hospital. The sonologist first showed the parts of the body and all were ok. The body parts are all well-developed and the heart rate is at 146bpm. The baby at that time was in cephalic position. When the doctor tried to get the gender, he did not have a hard time because he saw it right away. The doctor was sure and showed and explained it to me. Although I did not see it clearly or I guess I just can’t picture it as he was describing it. But he was so sure na so I believe him hehe! I’ll just show the results of the ultrasound to my OB on my check up next week.
I also had my OGCT last Sat and I’m a little over the normal range. The result must be between 3.05-6.38 and I got 6.4. The medical technologist said that it’s still ok for pregnant women but I’ll just ask my OB if I need to do something about it.
Paul arrived home lunch time ng Saturday and I told him of the results and syempre he’s so happy too.
We’re so thankful that our baby is doing ok and additional blessing na baby girl siya. We’ll just continue praying that the entire pregnancy up to the delivery will be fine and that our baby will be normal and healthy.
Below is a scanned pic of my ultrasound showing the baby’s genitals, try to picture it na lang. :)

Trial Class at Tumbletots

Lance had a trial class at tumble tots a few weeks ago since we’re thinking of enrolling him on their Active Play class come June. We arrived early so the receptionist showed me their play area and even showed me their rooms if in case I’ll be interested in enrolling Lance on their toddler classes. I liked their amenities and Lance had fun walking around the school.
Unfortunately, I did not like our experience during the trial class. The teacher was not guiding or even teaching us on what to do and was just observing all the kids playing. I was hoping that she’ll at least tell us or demonstrate to Lance on how to do things. Plus I don’t like that they’re not so strict on the number of companions each child has. There’s this one child who’s on trial class too that aside from his mom has 4 other kids with him who joined in the class (and these kids are a lot older than Lance). So you could just imagine when it was time to explore, those bigger kids were the first ones to try everything and they did not even behave properly. L I also noticed that they don’t have a program or parang a list of activities to do every class. They just started with the singing and then play time na on which the teacher naman did not do anything. Kaya ayun, I decided not to enroll him there anymore.
In fairness to them naman, maybe the teacher was like that because it’s almost the end of their summer classes so the kids who were enrolled during summer class were already familiar with what to do. Pero kahit na, what about us who doesn’t know di ba? And we’re potential customers pa so sayang. Pero I have a friend naman who had a trial class there and they had a great time naman so siguro it just did not meet my expectations. What I like din lang there is their slide, hehe! (Lance loves to slide kasi) and the songs during circle time because they use songs from Barney so Lance is familiar with it. :)
Below are some of the pictures during our trial class:

Beauty Contests

Here in our country, especially during this month, there are several beauty contests being held in every town. Most of the contestants are young and beautiful and some are even models. I remember a friend who’s fond of joining beauty contests. I even recommended to her this site http://www.lookoftheyear.com to help her get recognized. One of her dreams is to be famous and pursue a modeling career. I hope she’ll achieve her dream. She does have what it takes to become a famous model. Good luck girl!

Trial Class at Kindermusik

We had a trial class at Kindermusik in P. Tuazon last month pa and it’s just now that I get the chance to blog about it. I liked the class naman and Teacher Maya and Teacher Beth were both nice and they sing very well. I was thinking of enrolling Lance here for their summer class because I was hoping it will help him develop his speech or at least encourage him to talk.

When we were there, I noticed that Lance prefers running around than joining in the circle. He followed me naman when I asked him to sit with me and listen to the teachers. But I think he prefers his class at the Little Gym than at Kindermusik. Paul and I also noticed that their class is big having 10 kids. But there are 2 teachers naman so it’s ok. What we don’t like lang is the wide age gap. The class is from 1.6 years old to 3 years old. Lance is only 1.7 yrs old and he has classmates whom I think are 3 yrs old na. We just felt that Lance might be too young pa if we enroll him there. So we did not push through with our plans of enrolling him and also because the summer class only has 6 classes and we have several plans every week for this month of May which may only make Lance miss his classes. We’re still considering enrolling class at Kindermusik but maybe when he’s a little older na.

We also had a trial class at tumble tots but I’ll post about it next time. :)

Random Thoughts

I was watching the news last night and saw news about massacre and robbery here in our country. It makes me think that people here tend to do these things due to poverty. Some chose to rob a bank while others kill people in case they fight back when being robbed. Worse is that the last news I heard, there’s a bank that’s been robbed and the thieves killed all the employees assigned in that bank and one customer. That’s really sad because if the robbers only need the money, why do they have to kill the people working there? Haayy…

On a lighter side, I saw in the news that our previous President is doing great with her fight against colon cancer. And there’s a big chance of her getting totally healed. I’m scared of getting sick or worse having a cancer. I have an uncle who died of cancer a few years back and I can still remember how he looks like when we visit him at the hospital. And now, I’m considering of having a colon cleanse, maybe in a way it will help in reducing the risk of having a colon cancer.

License Renewal

Last week, I took a leave off work and renewed my driver’s & PRC license. I decided to renew my PRC license first because I knew that it would take more time than the driver’s so off I went to the PRC office in Morayta. Upon entering the gate, there would be a table there manned by two ladies giving out the necessary application forms. So I asked for a license renewal form for ECE, the lady said it should be for conversion from ECE to Electronics Engineer. Yes I heard about that before but why the need for converting from Electronics & Communications to plain Electronics? I didn’t ask the lady about that in the hopes that I could finish early. In the form given me were the procedures & requirements: 2pcs passport size photos in white background with name tag (for registration form and oath taking form), 1pc 1x1 photo in white background with name tag, 2 metered documentary stamps (for registration form and oath taking form), short brown envelope, recent community tax certificate (cedula). Conveniently, all were readily available at PRC so I just bought the needed things there. And so I had my picture taken, unfortunately they only do 1 size of photos at a time. So if you need 2 different sizes, they’ll charge you double (70 per set so that’s 140 pesos for 2 sets), all because of a limitation in the software they use. I also bought the other requirements plus a tube of paste (the kind you used while you were in preschool) of which I only used less than a pea sized amount. I lined up for the cedula, the guy issuing it writes 5.50 pesos on the cedula but charges 6 pesos for it, and neatly stamped across the front UNEMPLOYED, but none of the people lining up were asked if they were indeed unemployed. Next I lined up at Window J to get the metered documentary stamps. Quite a long line I must say. Then a guy working for PRC came told the people at the back of the line (even looking at me directly) that we can also get the stamps at Window 5. So off we went to Window 5. Still a long line, but not as long as in Window J. Anyway when my turn arrived, the guy in Window 5 said that he can give me a doc stamp for the oath taking form but not on the registration form, and I have to line up at Window J for that. Wow. Galing. Well I had no choice but to line up again on Window J. When it was finally my turn, the girl printed a stamp on the oath taking form and gave me something like a receipt for the stamp on the registration form. The receipt was issued not by the PRC but the savings and loans association of PRC. And the stamp itself says 15 pesos, not 21 pesos as we have paid. I then lined up at Window 16 to have my documents assessed. Another incredibly long line. My papers were assessed, and I was told to proceed to the cashier (another long line) to pay the dues which amounted to 1,380 pesos if I remember it correctly. Even if it has a penalty fee for expired license (mine has expired November last year), I think it still was too much. The cashier made a breakdown of the dues, labeled only as A and I and something else I cant remember. I have no idea what any of those stood for. Didn’t ask, just want to get it done. Went back to Window 16 to pass everything. Long line. Again. My turn, gave all requirements. Then the clerk said I have to notarize the document first before I pass it to her. I read the process form several times in the course of the day because there’s nothing else to do while in line for hours and it doesn’t say anywhere there that I have to have it notarized. The girl directed me to the 2nd floor in the Legal Department. Fortunately, she also said that I should just hand it back to her and I wouldn’t need to go back in line once I have it done. Good! I went to the 2nd floor, didn’t find the Legal Dept, a security guard said it was in the new building, went there, had it notarized and paid 40 pesos for it, went back to Window 16. Unfortunately, a different clerk was there now. So I had to line up again. Thank God it was much shorter now. Everything was in order, the clerk gave me the claim stub with which I can pick up my new license in about a month. I still had the 1x1 photos that was stated in the requirement, the clerk said it wasn’t needed, but I’d need another passport size photo, so I submitted another one. So I was cheated of 70 pesos worth of photos. Anyway, all that transpired from 10am to around 1pm. Kakapagod!

After that I went to Robinson Metro East to have my driver’s license renewed as well. Read the requirement posted outside the LTO satellite office, got an application form, then paid for the medical exam and drug test at the test center next door. Proceeded to have the necessary exams, and filled up their form. Though I was already done, I didn’t pass it yet because I knew it would take about an hour for the results to be released. Anyway after about just 5 minutes, I decided to pass the form and just wait for the results. To my surprise, it was already done. So I went back to the LTO office, submitted the application form as well as the documents from the medical & drug testing center. Had my picture taken and all that. Then the duty officers called on me and asked if I needed to have my address in the license changed. I said yes as I have written the new address in the application form. He asked if it was alright to not have it changed since they have already processed it. I wouldn’t want the process to go all over again and wait longer so I decided that it was ok to have the old address there. The driver’s license renewal took me about an hour total. So that was my license renewal day.

Anniversary Gift

We will be celebrating our 3rd year anniversary next month and I’m thinking of what to do on our anniversary. I asked my cousin who works on a hotel if she has a discount on the restaurants in their hotel and she told me she have so I’m considering on having a dinner there. I’m also thinking of going out of town but our anniversary falls on a weekday so I’m not sure if it’s possible. I am also thinking of a gift for Paul. It’s been a long time since I have given him a gift and I know he deserves one. He’s been a great husband and father. :)

Speaking of gifts, I was checking on vacheron constantin watches and I find them really nice. We’re thinking of buying a pair of his and hers watch even before so I hope we can find one that suits our taste. The designs in the site are elegant and I like them but I need to find one that Paul will like. He wants something to use especially when he’s outdoors. He’s in field most of the time so he wants something that’s designed for that and yet still looks elegant. The site has plenty of designs to choose from so I just have to check them all and see which one will suit Paul’s taste.

Problems in the Philippines

This is how I see the most common problems my country have, if only every Filipino will help to alleviate these.
  1. Politics – people in the government wants to become the leader. Everyone wants power, and the way I see it, most of them wants it not because they want to help the country but because they want to earn more money.
  2. Corruption – where else but in the government. Period
  3. Poverty – there are so many people dying and getting sick due to poverty. If only the government can do something about it.
  4. Pollution – whenever I watch the morning news on tv especially when they show the traffic and the shot is on top of the building, you can easily see the pollution. Haayy… And the rivers are all dead due to wastes thrown there. If only people are disciplined enough to know what they have to do.
  5. Addiction – there are people addicted to alcohol, drugs, etc. Whenever I go home and use the overpass, I can always see children sniffing solvent. I heard that it sometimes help them to forget hunger. If only I can send them to a drug rehab center to help them improve their lives

These are what I can think of for now. I’m sure there are lots more and once I have the time, I’ll share them again with you. For Filipinos out there who are reading this, the least we can do is not to add to these problems. Right? :)

Updates

I know I haven’t been updating my blogs. All you can see are updates on our “sideline”. I also owe a lot of people tags and I promise to do them kaya please do tag me still. I’m just a little busy with work: training a new staff, my six sigma project, our ISO certification, contractor management, etc. plus I’m a little bit lazy pa. Blame it on the pregnancy, hehe!

So what’s up with us? Paul is doing ok now with his job. He often gets home late during weekdays but makes up for it by just staying home and playing with Lance on weekends. Lance naman is doing ok. He had an asthma attack again last Monday but he’s better now. He still has his own words that you can’t understand but whenever he speaks, you can see from his face and from the tone of his voice the meaning of what he is saying. He tries to reason out too whenever we don’t allow him to do something. Hehe! About me naman, I’m doing ok. I can feel baby #2 moving inside but the kicks can’t be felt yet if you touch my tummy. I’ll have my oral glucose test on Saturday and will have a pelvic ultrasound too. I hope our baby won’t be shy and will show whether we’ll buy clothes for a girl or he’ll be using some hand-me-downs from Lance. Hehe!

I’ll update you as soon as we have the results. :)

Time To Diet

I accompanied Toni yesterday to her monthly checkup with her OB. When we got there, the doctor was still not in so we just stayed in the waiting room. They also have a couple of weighing scales there so we decided to check that out. I was surprised to see my weight. Looks like I need to go on a diet, work out, or get myself the best diet pills to get my BMI down. Wish me luck!
